Holy smokes this place is good.

Had the halibut with chips, and my wife had the same but gluten free. Perfect ratio of fish to batter, the chips were just right, and I don't even like coleslaw but I even ate that. The only fish and chips I had that even came close were in Seattle. I'm told the gluten free version was the same as my experience.

Price was great as well. This is another North end gem, so glad we tried it!

If you like batter, this is your place. Way too much batter. Very little fish. Very disappointing.

I’m surprised with so many positive reviews. This was hands down the worst halibut and chips we’ve ever had. Very thick batter and rubbery chips. 60.00 for 3 fish and 2 chips (take out). These are not the British fish and chips I grew up with.

I'm obsessed with the gluten free fish and chips! The people working there are SO NICE! Really safe pick up protocols too.

Absolutely my favourite place in Guelph for fish & chips! Both their pickup and delivery options have been great during COVID, everything is delicious and hot when you are ready to eat. The prices are very reasonable and you get a good amount of food for the price.

They also have a dedicated fryer for gluten-free items (including the fries) which is wonderful for my partner who can't have gluten. The staff are great and very accommodating regarding allergies and intolerances, they advised us about the malt vinegar containing gluten as well when we ordered there for the first time.

Would certainly recommend trying out this place. Awesome vibes, yummy dishes, excellent service. Fantastic work.

This place is my go to spot for a night out. Good food and great environment, if you don't make the best of friends with the lovely lady who owns it you will most definitely be fed well! If you ever happen to stumble upon this place do me a favour and her that Tommy sent Ya. Went there for the first time today and had perfect fish and chips. Tasty and fresh. Will definitely be going back.

We were welcomed with open arms and true Canadian friendliness. The service is very good and the halibut and chips delicious. It is so fresh and indulged with having it fried and it was not greasy. The coleslaw was a great compliment to the meal.we have moved to the US and fish and chips is not easy to come by especially halibut. We will be back and thanks for taking such good care of my parents.

Amazing owners, amazing food & I love that they have a dedicated fryer for gluten-free. They have a great selection of gluten free menu options as well! Owner's are incredibly knowledgeable, super friendly and welcoming as well. Hands down, best fish and chips place around! We frequent it as much as we can afford to. Having my allergies accommodated without the worry of cross contamination or risk, is so refreshing! Many restaurants could learn a few things from them!

You can feel good giving your money to Captain Jack's restaurant in exchange for their lovely fish and chips; big chain restaurants don't really need your money and have servers that will never remember you and don't really love their jobs. Captain Jack's, however, is an amazing, independent restaurant, run by a hard-working couple who deserve for their restaurant to thrive for many years to come.

The food at this restaurant exceeded my expectations and the customer service was delightful. I enjoyed visiting Captain Jack's for lunch and will likely do so again in the near future. The food was very reasonably priced and I have no complaints about the quality. The venue itself is well decorated and portrays a fun, thoughtful theme throughout.

What a great little resteraunt! We've passed by this storefront many times saying we should try it and finally got around to visiting. It wont be the last time! The fish and chips (why would you order the burger!) were cooked to perfection, crispy English style batter (available gluten free too!) fresh cut chips and a generous helping of homemade coleslaw.

The staff were great and the feel of the resteraunt would remind you of being on the East Coast. Good value and just right portions.

This must be the only Fish & Chips restaurant on this planet that doesn't give you tartar sauce. Plain Fish & Chips is not very favourable. Any rating above 1 star is fake. Very disappointing dinner order at our workplace. Will never order from again.

Great fish and chips. Wonderful customer service. Family type atmosphere. Would rate higher if I could.

Ordered through skip the dishes at 6pm and the delivery driver didn't show up at the restaurant until 7pm which is when the store is supposed to close. Not only did they stay open to wait for the driver but they re made all the food so it would be fresh and they did it all without us calling to complain, they're the ones that called us to apologize for skip the dishes being late. Food was priced good and tasted amazing would definitely eat there again but will never order anything from skip the dishes in the future.

Awesome food, being British I love my fish and chips. This is the best place to buy them from as the food is fabulous. My wife loves the salads here. You wont find any better in the area.

Hands down the best fish and chips in town, it's like you got it fresh from the Maritimes. The hospitality is also like being back home in the Maritimes, warm and friendly. Highly recommend.
