Cardboard Classics

Went here on Friday October 30th at 3pm to buy pokemon singles. The guy behind the counter was very rude and didn't know how to price cards. For example, creased/ bent cards were valued at NM prices. I can only assume this is why they have so much vintage stock, because every card is over priced. I don't appreciate the snarky remarks I was getting from him. This store has great potential. Looks like a great place to buy sealed product and play tournaments. I know good help is hard to find but this employee needs training on how to value cards.

I almost never submit reviews but felt that this was warranted. Would give 0 stars if possible. I went to check out their variety of Pokemon singles as they are not listed in their website, which is fine because in-store shopping is always better, except at this store. Every time I would ask to see a card, he would let out a huge sigh that could be heard across the entire store. On top it that, it seemed as if the worker was downright unqualified to handle appraising cards after I had taken interest in a card that had 3 large creases that goes through the front and back and can be felt through a penny sleeve, a pea sized black spot that was clearly a result of being damaged and severe whitening on the back and corner damage but yet had the audacity to tell me it’s only moderately played. He told me ‘It’s not enough to be considered damaged’. I spoke with multiple employees there and I felt as if throughout all the encounters I was being disrespected with pettiness and constantly given the cold shoulder. Unsure what I could have done to warrant this treatment but I would not recommend going to this store.

Although not as big as other collectible stores, there is a great selection of cards and games. We can always find what we are after. Great place for Pokemon, Magic, or D&D gamers. If you are in the market for some new board games, check out this hidden gem in Thornhill.

Purchased a Warhammer set online that wasn't available in my city on the other side of Canada. They updated when the package was shipped and on the day it was supposed to arrive. Everything went smooth, would recommend!
