We had some glasses that were flattened and we went to get them fixed at Laurel but they were closed and said otherwise online. So as we walked around and then noticed it we asked if they could fix it and they did. It cost 5 dollars and took only 10 minutes while also dealing with another customer, they did it perfectly and after noticing we didn't have a case with us they gave a good one for free! It was an amazing experience and if the problem raised up again I would like to go here.

Worst experience with Hakim. The eye examiner (doctor) doesn’t know what he is doing. What a waste of time and money.

Do not go here.

It's my first time wearing glasses, they were 0 help in finding the right size or even guiding me in the right direction.

Ended up getting 2 pairs of completely different size and had to return one.

The staff have no idea what they are doing. Complete joke. Please close this location.

I bought 5 glasses for myself, my wife and my daughter. The customer service from Pan Li were awesome. He is very helpful and professional, and tried his best to meet our requirements. He also kept us informed during the process. He is a very good! Give 5 stars.

Pilita and Aman are amazingly patient people. Pilita spent hours with me, explaining what designs did or didn't work with my face shape and coloring. She guided me against frames that weren't flattering or didn't fit correctly. After comparing many to my own, Pilita and Aman still prefered my own frames best (purchased from Hakim last year). They advised using new prescription in my own frames. A very pleasant experience. Will definitely only shop there. Huge selection.

I had an amazing customer service at this location. I had gone to a different location before coming here but what a difference! The staff here was so helpful and nice. They took their time to help me choose a good pair of glasses and the ladies Aman and Pilita were very knowledgeable and informative. Great customer service. A customer forever!

They made me pay for 2 pairs of readers 699 dollars, I later found out for the same pair $6 at Rexall pharmacy. They put all options for reader like blue light etc. - readers don't need all that. They are defrauding people shame on you

I bought my glasses at a different location, but now Carlingwood is more convenient.
I have now been to this location three times, and they have been really helpful and friendly. They've fixed up my glasses and haven't even tried to sell me a new pair. I have also dealt with a different person each time, they're all gave great customer service.

The service was amazing. Pilita and Aman were extremely courteous and thorough finding eyeglasses for my friend. We were not rushed and they found many options to chose from. They explained all the measurements and what type of frames we should be looking for. We certainly would recommend Hakim at Carlingwood.

If I could rate them a 0 star review I would. Worst experience with product and service ever. This is a lengthy review.

I purchased a pair of glasses 2 years ago from them. When making my purchase I had decided to buy the diamond elite lenses (as this was apparently their best).

Just over a year later the coating on my left lens started to peel off. At the time I was preganat and we had just been put into a lockdown due to the pandemic so I was not able to go in and have them take a look at it.

Once stores opened back up in the summer I had just given birth and going out was the last thing on my mind.

I decided to contact this location in December and spoke with the store manager who basically told me that all they could do was take off the coating on my lenses. She informed me that the technician who does this was not in for the day but to come in the next day and she could do it for me. I had asked what taking the coating off would do, the manager informed me it would take off the anti glare but I would still have the anti scratch as this was embedded in the lense. I asked how long this takes to complete, she informed me 15-20 minutes.

So I went in to get this done the following day. When I dropped them off the technician said it would be 45mins to 1 hours to complete. It took 1 hour, upon returning to pick up my glasses, the tech slid them across the counter to me, as soon as I saw them they were scratched so badly that they were now garbage. The technician tried to tell me that they were scratched now because the anti scratch was removed. However i don't understand how they got so badly scratched when they are putting the lenses into a clear liquid substance to remove the coating. When I gave these glasses to her to remove the coating there were 0 scratches on my lenses, now they had between 50-100 scratches on the inside and outside of both lenses. I was visibly upset. Another male technician then tried to chime in and say that this is how it is when you remove the anti scratch coating.

I told them this was not acceptable and that they destroyed my glasses and that I did not bring them in to have them scratch them beyond repair. The female technician then said well you can leave them here and come in the next day and speak with our manager and see what she can do. I then refused to do that, as I use my glasses for distance and would need to drive home and could possibly get into a car accident. I demanded that they do something about it now and not later. She then asked me to give her 10 minutes while she called the area manager.

After contacting the area manager she informed me they would be giving me new lenses and that it would be another 15 minutes. So I waited, and waited, and waited. 55 minutes later they were ready. Upon examining them, there was a huge chip in the corner of the left lense and a chunk of the lense was now missing. The technician then tried to explain to me that it was the machine that did this. Now I'm getting really frustrated at this point. She can clearly see that I am upset. She then says that she doesn't have anymore of my prescription in store and will have to order another one. So I set up with her to do that and call me when it arrives.

I got the phone call right before Christmas that they arrived and I went in to have them fixed by a different technician. They are now fixed however they did not smooth out the edge of the lense so now it is sharp. But I refuse to ever go back to this location or company ever again.

BUYERS BEWARE. PURCHASE ANYWHERE ELSE

Update:
2 months after having them apparently fix the chip that the technician had made in my lense, the chip is now back as if they just filled it with something that has now fallen out. Instead of replacing the lense like they said they would.

Looks like I'm in the market for new glasses. What a waste of my money and time. They will not be getting my money ever again.

The gentleman conducting my eye exam was extremely patronizing. With two other eye health stores in the same mall I'm surprised he thinks he can get away with this terrible customer service without losing clientele to his competitors.

While reading the letters during the exam, I noted in a couple instances that the quality or sharpness of the letters looked the same when given the choice between option A and option B. He simply wouldn't accept that and became very condescending in his response.suggesting that I needed to "do better" for him to be able to do his job and then "man-splaining" to me the purpose of the eye exam, as thought I didn't know what I was doing there.

It turns out that the machine was getting fogged up because I was wearing a mask! Was he apologetic? Absolutely not.

I suggested he'd do well to remember that I'm the client to which he responded that I should "calm down. " I'm a 40 year old woman.

Do yourself a favour and go to Pearl Vision or Laurier Optical instead, they are located in the same mall.

I recently purchased new glasses at this location. Both staff, Pilita and Aman were very helpful. They provided me with the best service I have ever had. We spent sometime choosing the correct frames. They were polite and courteous. They did not rush me into a decision. I was very satisfied when I left the store.

Customer Service matters and they had 10 plus stars. Here’s my story. I went back to this store particularly because earlier in the year my current and only pair of glasses were broken and needed the arm to be put back on. I had the screw, just no way of putting it on amd could not see even if I had the tool! I happened to be at this mall while they broke and walked into another eye glass store (unnamed) and they refused to help because I did not buy my glasses there.
Anyway wandered into Hakim and they were so nice and fixed my glasses for free. I had not bought my glasses here either but they did not care.
I came back a few months later and bought 3 pairs and some prescription sunglasses! The 2 ladies at Hakim who were helping me took, so much time with me and gave me wonderful guidance and advice. I wish I remembered their names! They had to wash each pair of glasses that I tried on due to the pandemic and did not complain at all. Love you guys. Thanks so much:) customer for life.

They have a great selection of eyeware, but sometimes you need to buy it fast while its still in stock, because the style might be out of stock.

Great selection of frames for both men and women at reasonnable prices. Professional and friendly service. Aman was very helpful when I had to select new glasses. After I bought mine and got them in about 10 days, my husband decided to buy some as well. Will go back!

Well let me begin to say that the service and turn around time for getting my new lenses in my flashy new glasses was extremely fast and efficient. The customer service was excellent,
Friendly great advice on my new shade of lens and very patient.

Note: Always take your time on buying not everyone in customer service is going to connect with your taste or advice, every shop is different so deal with who you feel comfortable with.
You only get 1 set of eyes so make it worth while and a pleasant experience. Thanks very much.

STAY AWAY! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN OTTAWA! People there simply hate their jobs.

After a 4 month delay of getting my contacts, the store tells me to BUY a different brand, I refuse and had to speak with the regional manager to get it solved.

Staff were very patient with me, helped me for 2 hours while picking out 3 sets of frames. They gave their honest opinion as to what glasses looked good/bad on me. The staff there were extremely friendly! I would recommend this location to anyone.
