Caro

Came upon Caro by chance when we were looking for a nice place for a birthday lunch in the area and everything else wasn't open until later. What a find! Casual trendy open bistro style. Fantastic fresh handmade meals. Modern Italian. Local family business. The signature bread appetizer "Caro" was stellar. Blistered cherry tomatoes on a soft yet crispy, nutty loaf with whole cloves of dreamy, soft, fresh garlic. Authentic wood oven style pizzas and fresh pastas/sandwiches. Homemade pesto and marinara makes them stand out. Tiramisu was lovely. They have another location on James apparently. Great value for fantastic food!

Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. Lots of patients helping me find a vegan option.

I was craving some type of good pasta for a while now. Living in Hamilton, there are some good restaurants, but I occasionally am let down by the quality of the food, in particular the pasta. I knew I wanted a carbonara, so I was able to eliminate some restaurants based on not having this on the menu.

The pasta was fantastic! It was everything I asked for. The bolognese was also good, but I was very happy with my selection.

The tiramisu was made in small individual Mason jars. It was tasty, but could use real whip cream vs the canned product for $9 a serving.

Washrooms are in the basement, just in case you have mobility issues, that might impact your visit.

This was my first experience and it wad enjoyable. I would like to try the location on James N next. I'd come back for the carbonara!

I've been here quite a few times over the years, and generally, I like it, but it's as if things are not consistent. The drinks and pizzas are consistent, as well as the Caro bread. But the pastas, lasagna, etc are sufficient and well balanced one visit, and different another.

I now feel like it's only worth it to get pizza personally, which is unfortunate because when they first opened I loved all the 6 menu options I tried.

Service is pretty good though; they do get busy, but they are normally good for checking in.

The atmosphere is either calm and quiet early on, to moderate during the afternoons and bustling in the evening. It would be amazing with a live band

Came in for pizza at lunch time (3 Little Pigs pizza, a bit wet in the center, but overall delicious, the crust is so good). Love their garlic dip for pizza! It was busy and only one server, but we had a good experience.

This place has delicious brunch! I had the avocado toast and it was fantastic, the coffee was also amazing. I can’t wait to come back!

Great casual Italian restaurant. Staff is friendly, the food is fantastic. Simple but great flavors. All the food is fresh and made with great ingredients. Atmosphere is also a plus. I personally dig the old school hip hop instrumentals playing in the background. Another plus are the cocktails and it's a kid friendly restaurant. They all saw have a great patio. I honestly can keep on going on how amazing Caro is =). They've also added a Brunch menu for the weekend.

Absolutely love this restaurant! Service is consistently great, and the food is delicious. A great little patio is available, which is where we last dined. Any day is a good day to visit but if you go on Monday or Tuesday (quiet days at restaurants), Caro has (as of this time, June 2023, see Instagram) a special on pizza and wine. A great deal!

Nice to see restaurants aren't crowding as many tables as possible in, we had plenty of room to manoeuvre our granddaughters stroller and enjoy a great meal. The food was really good at a good price.

Lovely outdoor patio with lots of space. The food was fresh and yummy, the drinks were unique, well priced and flavourful. The staff was friendly and the service was quick! Will come back again.

Love the Margarita Pizza, and wonderful that it's $10 Monday, waitress was super friendly so a very lovely lunch date!

A nice cozy spot with lots of light. Ordered the Caprese sandwich and enjoyed it. I recall there being more pork on the menu previously, but seems to have shifted (which I appreciate since I do not consume pork). A bit on the pricey side, but the portion was just right. Kind service and a decent patio. I'd go again!

Amazing! So so good. Couldn’t stop eating the polenta fries and calamari’s…barely had space for my entree. So so good and the vibe is nice and chill, highly recommend! New favourite local spot for sure:)

One of my favourite restaurants in Hamilton. So happy that they opened up a new location as well. My fav is the gnudi with roasted red peppers! They haven't had that in the menu for a while, but hoping it will come back soon ;) Close second is the Carbonara so good! The Caro bread is divine too! We got the Valentine's Day meal a while back and it was so good! My husband and I were so impressed that it was still so warm when we brought it home.

Whenever I go to a restaurant it's the little things that bother me, like the paper towel to hand drying ratio for the bathrooms. They somehow managed to perfect this for an automatic towel dispenser and it has put a smile on my face.
If the ambience of the cute little corner restaurant isn't enough to get you hooked, the food in itself is great enough to be used as currency for negotiating the release of hostages.

The best restaurant experience I have had in a long time! I believe our server was Dylan. Though it was very busy and seemed like he was the only server working, he made sure we were well taken care of and everything was to our satisfaction. The pizzas were excellent and the atmosphere was also great. I can’t wait to return and try more items on the menu. Thank you for a great experience.

Best service I’ve experienced in years, if not ever. Went for my birthday with my girlfriend and even though Dylan was extremely busy, he went above and beyond to make sure all customers were satisfied and taken care of. The stress of this pandemic has affected everyone but Dylan handled things with incredible professionalism and made the experience that much better. Food was also beyond delicious. Will definitely be back

Its 8: 49 resturant closes at 9 pm.i called to see if i could get a table to eat n have a fast beer. The waiter Doug said come on in.

For main course we decided to order two pizzas as two caught our eye. One was Fun Bobby which was comprised of mushroom, chunks of pancetta, black olive, tomato sauce and mozzarella. To put it simply this pizza was great, tons of flavor and we would certain order it again.recommend this place

Went to this restaurant with a group of 4. Started out pretty great. Apps were great. Drinks on the menu were okay. I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle. Overall it was descent but you can’t taste the short ribs at all. Such a small amount and its hidden in the meal.

Rest of the table enjoyed their meal greatly. But at the end we received our bill and we were charged for bread that the waiter brought to the table. We didn’t order any and he simply stated he will bring us out some bread to start. If your going to bring something to the table that wasn’t ordered please don’t charge for it. It’s not about the few dollars it cost, it’s the Principle of it. Left a really sour taste to finish the meal
