Carriage Ridge Resort

Our stay is on Thursday this week, and I just wanted to say that Summer was a pleasure to deal with and helped us out immensely. Thank you for your understanding and consideration Summer!

My husband and I just spent the weekend here for our first wedding anniversary and I can’t say enough good things. Our check in with Sarah and Summer was so smooth and they are so welcoming. I was obsessed with the room we were in, full kitchen, living room with a dining room table, tv and fireplace, walk in shower and a huge jacuzzi tub, and a little back balcony. It was the best experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. We did the treetop trekking close by one day and the spa the next. We went into Barrie for a little shopping. It was the perfect weekend and we can’t wait to go back!

I had a great experience, our room was nice, but could use some maintenance. I don't even have a dryer and washing machine so close to me at home. The king size bed was really comfortable! I will be coming back.

Rooms are aged. Facilities could be tidier. Since COVID there have been some slight downturns. Used to borrow movies / games from the rec area. Those are gone. There are coin operated machines / games.
Onsite, unless you're skiing, there isn't a lot. Barrie and Orillia are within 25 min.

Different type of resort, hampered by staying issues. Staff that are there are doing a good job. Not a great facility for those with mobility issues.

Front desk said the resort does not supply coffee or sugar.told to go to Foodland. They said the fact that we were given 2 packages of no name coffee and packs of sugar/stir sticks, we should consider ourselves lucky.

Kiddie pool not open because no lifeguard? A lifeguard isn't required for regular pool and kids are more likely to drown.

Not what I expected from the same company that owns Comfort Inn, which is why we chose this resort.
I won't be staying at comfort inns any longer.
This is a resort and we rented a room at the resort. We didn't rent an Airbnb or a condo. We rented a suite at a resort but apparently this is also a time share? That wasn't on the Choice Motel website. Very deceiving. We expected a suite in a resort with hotel services.

Absolutely mind blowing experience. The room was so much nicer than the photos! I haven't lived in apartments that nice! Having an actual bath room was a new experience as well! The staff was super friendly, the location was peaceful and beautiful. Just fantastic. One piece of advice though is bring hand and body soap as they don't seem to have that.

Still give them 5/5 and look forward to coming again

Amazing place for a weekend getaway. The place was beautiful, amenities were really good, swimming pool play area and campfire. Very peaceful and quiet with lots of places to visit nearby and the amazing Nordic spa nearby

The unit was dirty and the tub was dirty. The shower has mold in it. My hubby even found a dead roach in the unit!

Overall a nice experience
Location was not easy to find as maps took us to where they have closed the entrance, so at night time it's not easy
The room was clean and had all the necessary items including kitchen utensils
Luckily got the views of the horseshoe resort chair lift from the balcony which was good
Would like to go back definitely in the summers

Was a nice place a little off the road but not hard to find. Reasonable rates very accommodating. Would stay again with out hesitation.

We came to this resort for our 3rd wedding anniversary and it was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in!

Signs getting to the resort was difficult, we got lost and had to call to get directions to there. It's a nice quiet spot. Our pull out couch mattress is questionable.reminded me of some motels on the side of a highway that you just need to stop at for a few hours. The rest of the room is clean. The lights in the bathroom flicker to life. Outside is tidy, playground is decent for the kids to run around.

The rooms have everything you need including wifi. Covid has definitely left them short staffed for thorough cleaning of each room we came across candy wrappers and popcorn behind and under furniture but other than those little mishaps it was great. If everyone did a little extra before leaving I'm sure it would be appreciated by the staff instead of complaing. Here is a view off our deck to the ski hill. It's a little crazy that you can only walk out to the ski hill if you are on a upper floor. Ground floor you deck is enclosed.

If you had a ski pass for horseshoe valley you could walk right out of your back door onto the hill

Loved our stay here. Horseshoe ski resort is just on the other side of this place you can literally ski to the center lift from this place. Everything was clean and tidy, including the bathroom, linens, towels, etc. We did sanitize some high touch points by ourselves but I'd say that's just us anyways.

Great experience. It is on a pricey side and that's when you get a nice company to share your stay. Our condo was on top of the hill, so you don't need to drive to the lift. Swimming pool is decent and kids enjoyed it for an hour each day.

It is a beautiful property with updated rooms/suites. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend.

It's a great place to stay, we stayed for 2 nights over the weekend in December 2020. If you're planning on skiing, ask for Stagecoach houses, their backyards are closer to the ski lifts.

All covid rules followed, easy check in and checkout. Be careful when driving around the resort and Horseshoe Valley - some of the roads are not lit and at night its a bit more challenging to drive.

Good resort, but it's about to be disbanded. So in 2021 nobody really knows how is gonna look/function.

Beautiful rental unit, great location, beautiful scenery, would recommend this place and come again.

This was a great quick getaway from the city with my family and friends in my circle.
Everyone here has been courteous and respects the social distancing and mask protections. I was very happy that this place satisfied my family needs for this quick getaway from the busy citythis place is absolutely gorgeous!

Nice to get away for a vacation in a nice place. Building we are in are starting to show there age, but very spacious 1 bedroom than most.

Has all amenities at your convenience. Very clean environment and rooms have been extremely cleaned so that people feel comfortable especially during pandemic.

Fantastic place, rooms are very up to date with kitchens or mini kitchens. Everything is very clean, had a bit of a flow issue with the toilet, but staff were friendly and quick to respond. Pool was clean and well maintained. Check in is at 4pm and struck checkout is at 10am. I would definitely come again.

My girlfriend stayed here for a 2 night ski trip at horseshoe valley. We loved the room, extremely spacious and well designed. Everything was very clean and the Jacuzzi tub was the highlight of it for us haha. Also, there was access to the ski hills directly behind our room so that was a big bonus. Great place for a comfy get-away!

Place was spacious and clean.my toddler had plenty of space to have fun.all the amenities and things are close by. Really liked the outside spa area.other than ski & snowboard, they have tubing for small children too. It's also close to Barrie where you can find more restaurants and activities.

Its great. Just starting our trip here. Staff has been super helpful and nice. Lots of handy stuff close by. It really helps to have a full kitchen unit. Beautiful indoor pool and free snow shoes. What a great trip so far. Our kids are having a blast. If you have forgotten something its a short drive into Barrie Enjoy your trip.

This resort is really nice with good amenities. All the suites are nicely decorated and well maintained. Proximity to Horseshoe Valley is the best asset to this place. The only downsides are that there's no on site restaurant and the check in /out times are 10am / 4pm.

Nice resort, suites are nice. Good and spacious rooms. Comes with a well stocked kitchen with cups, bowls, plates, cutlery

Check and doesn't start till 4 we got there just a little before 4 they said our room would be a half an hour still we didn't get in our room until 5: 30

Great place to visit! My family & I went this fall for then second time. We love the biking and hiking trails close by. Our son loved the pool and arcade. We always have such a great time as a family when we visit.

A fantastic retreat whether it’s winter or summer facilities are fantastic love the gas barbeque area the pool and proximity to golfing fantastic

My family really loves this place. We come here as often as we can. The place is kept very clean, there are kids activities, a nice pool, clean bbqs and a fire pit at night.

Beautiful! Clean and family friendly this is a treasure of a find. Huge place can accomodate many guests but is usually only medium busy and we love it. We come here about 1 time per year.

Absolutely love this place. It is away from the crowd and rooms are comfy.
If you haven't been here it's worth the drive away from hustle of life.

Staff are great and willing to accommodate you the best they can.
Rooms and facilities are probably the best available in Shell or II.

Nice and clean. Very close to horseshoe ski resort and depend on your units it can access the slope directly. Down side are some equipments and appliances getting old.

Had nice quiet time pool and hot tub day trip to Barrie and Collingwood if you light to ski slopes were open. Accommodations were clean roomy comfortable.

Come here with family very often. Was a little disappointed this time round. TV was not working, same as fire place. Jacuzzi in room kept on having the water drain when I was trying to relax.

We are here for Christmas and ski holiday. Resort at top of hill so we can ski in and out. In a one bedroom unit with fully equipped kitchen. Sleeps 4.

This report is located on the top of the valley surrounded by a beautiful ancient forest with lit stuff to all year round. Mountain bike ski, golf, tree trekking.

Comfy beds and it is very easy to get into the hills from where you are. No need to drive to the bottom and when you want a break you can go.on a lift up the hill and skii to where you first entered the hills. Very convenient.
