CARSTAR Toronto Dovercourt (Nick's)

Although the main person in charge was friendly, I got my car back smelling like a mixture of glue/apoxy and musty smell. The only things that were fixed on my car were the right side rear door, panel and bumper, but somehow my car smelled terrible afterwards. I took the car back to them a few weeks later (hoping the smell would naturally dissipate) and they told me that they could barely smell anything and that there was nothing they could do about it. I then had to fight with my insurance company for months to get them to pay for car detailing services, which, after two interior detailing and 3 ozonation's (method of removing smells) the scent still persists (and may even be worse now).

Nobody seems to fix this problem and I suspect the body shop either 1) left my windows open or somehow let the interior get wet, resulting in water under the carpet that now feeds mold; or 2) used some sort of glue they shouldn't have to fix the new panels to the car.

There is literally nothing I can do to fix this problem and its driving me insane.

1 week to get a quote, 8 weeks until they said I they were ready to book me in, and then the appointment was booked for 6 weeks after that. 14 weeks to get your car in (over 3 months) ? Ridiculous. If your insurance tells you to come here, insist on anywhere else.

Excellent service! I got my vehicle back after two days for a bumper cover replacement. The paint job was well done and not rushed at all. Everyone on the staff team was friendly and knowledgable. Coordination with insurance company and rental car company was great as well.

These people are just for stealing and cheating, they are not honest, they charge almost $4,000 from my insurance, to fix my car
Carstar kept my car for 3 months, after all, they gave me the car back all broken and full of defects
I went back there asking to review the car they replied that they are not mechanics and that was not their problem.but they ate $3,880.00 to fix my car, they devoured the money and did nothing

Slow service. Said they'd get back to me in 2 weeks which is now estimated 6-8 weeks to change a bumper.

I brought my car in to be repaired after someone slid into the left bumper. They told me they just needed to buff out the scuff and they did it on the spot and and didn't charge me! So helpful! Excellent service!

The people at Car Star have been so professional and kind. They are thorough in explaining how things work which has been helpful in making things smooth. The shop itself is beautiful and well kept.

I was also able to receive wonderful help from Dylan. I needed a specific adaptor for my tire wrench and he helped me find the exact ones I needed. He tried different parts and tested the pieces, explained the difference between what I had and what I needed. I appreciate the time he took to help me out.

This place was on the list for auto body shops in my area with my TD Insurance. At first they had sent me to their TD Insurance Kiosk but the customer service lacked and was further than expected. So when I asked for another shop, and upon reading reviews and it being a 2 min drive, I went with Nick’s Carstar.should’ve gone with them from the start.
When I took my vehicle for the assessment, I was greeted by Paul. Right off the bat I knew I made the right choice. He was friendly, reassuring, straight-forward and on top of things. He worked with me and my schedule, which I really appreciated as I work nights.
When I picked up my car, he showed me everything they did and explained the paperwork clearly. Even while I was driving my car off the lot he quickly checked my oil for me to see if it needed to be topped up. The shop did a wonderful job on repairing my car. They made it look brand new and even tidied the inside for me and my mats! I never got to say thank you.
I’ve passed by this shop plenty of time and not only do they fit nicely into the community but the whole vibe of the shop is friendly and you know they are there to help, above and beyond! They are clear with the work they do, and even though I didn’t have to pay out of pocket, I found the price for the work of my Volkswagen Jetta very reasonable.
If you have issues with your vehicle and want an honest, clean and friendly shop. This is the place to go!
