Saw this was one of the top attractions on Google but I had no idea on the history of this place. So I went to find out. Came here by public transportation and got tickets with the audio guide. I soon saw that this was a mansion for a prominent financier. Cool to see this is a museum now and overlooks Toronto.

We went during Christmas time and it was extremely crowded which was definitely waste of time and money.

The city's top destination. Visitors can understand the extravagance of the city's leading financier of the early years. In addition, this is also a museum that stores costumes and belongings of wealthy people in the past.

Escape to another time at this gem of a place in Toronto! Nice place for a day out with the family!
25 September 2023 1:59
What a fun experience. This place could teach you about history, host a wedding or event, film a movie, host escape rooms, see realistic wax sculptures or historical and celebrity figures.

Lieux et vue magnifique prendre le city pass pour faire d'autres visites avec des tarifs avantageux.

Lovely place to visit. Huge house, beautiful terrace area. Lots to see between house and underground. Well worth a visit

Excellent place to meet, walk and good landscapes from the towers. The gardens are spectacular and the view of the incredible castle is highly recommended
26 July 2023 21:38
Overcrowded, overpriced pseudo-culture. If X Men hadn't been filmed there, almost meaningless. That's every 5 km in Europe.
24 January 2022 23:36
If you don't know about this place please look at all the amazing pictures from this castle. It is a must see if you are ever in Toronto.
15 January 2022 15:02
Hadn't been since 1972! Really enjoyed our visit. Wished we had longer. Definitely need a full day. Next time!

It's a castle. Lots of rooms. Some awesome stairs. Caught a ghost on camera. 10/10 would ghost hunt again. Oh yeah, proposed in the courtyard
24 December 2021 21:44
Bought relatively expensive tickets for Christmas at the Castle and it was very poorly done. No craft room like previous years. No skating rink. And Santa was on lunch during our time of entry limit. Kids were terrified by the wax museum - who thought a wax museum with political figures was Christmas or kid appropriate?

No the best place to visit during Covid. They allow too many visitors in the castle which makes it impossible to practice social distancing. Trying to keep distance from others meaning will be constantly cut in line by others. Besides the annoying and unsafe experience, the castle itself is quite underwhelming. It’s a very commercialized place, which won’t provide a museum kind of feeling.

Expect to spent 3 hours wandering this massive mansion with amazing history and beauty. Definitely a must do if you love tv and film history as well as Canadian history! Probably my favourite place to visit in Toronto:)
18 December 2021 14:51
It's well worth the price with lots of amenities. Historical building maintained well. A large portion of the main floor is now used as restaurants which is definitely a fancy experience. The kids will like the escape room and Christmas activities. Love the underground tunnel.

Wonderful! You feel like a kid again! Take your kids or grandchildren. Food was delicious and reasonable too!
05 December 2021 17:36
Nice place to watch the previous civilization and the way how they care about details in building and decorating
I like the design how they build an escape hole way connected to the stable
01 December 2021 18:43
A must see if you are visiting Toronto. I feel so lucky to live close by and walk or run by the castle every day. It is really lovely inside too and makes for a great afternoon exploring activity.

Lovely place!?

Had gone on halloween and they had decorated it so well. It was like stepping into a time machine. Very opulent. Cant imagine such luxury but it was nice to see it in person. Word of advice, wear comfy shoes you have a lot of the castle to cover!

Was able to check the haunted walk within the castle which exits across the street. Well done with the production!

Definitely will revisit when it’s warm. Hear they have a winter festival thing too, might revisit. ️

Went for the summer outdoor dining at The Gardens. Food was great and so was the atmosphere! Would definitely do it again!
09 October 2021 22:52
There were a lot of closed off areas due to a wedding being set up. Also the amount of props lying around for the room experiences and the sections closed off for this were very disappointing. We didn't get to see any of the garden as well due to the wedding preparations. The wax museum is not a good addition either. Not a great attraction any more.

A house? A castle? Toronto's top attraction? All of the above. I was stunned at its beauty. I learned that a lot of movies, including some of my favorite ones, filmed scenes either in the house. The conservatory has done a great job at keeping it beautiful. You will get a chance to visit all three floors, the attic, the towers, the basement and a cool tunnel leading you to the owners first residence about 800 feet away. Oh, and I almost forgot the secret doors leading you up and down the house. The house basement you'll find a theatre, a cafe, but there is also a high scale restaurant located within the facilities. They were preparing the grounds for what it seemed to be a wedding and in other areas they were decorating for Halloween. This immediately became one of my favorite attractions I have ever seen.

A must visit place in Toronto. Paid around $ 30 for tour. It is definitely worth it. Rich in history. Staff are very polite and helpful. Place is beautiful. Take your family. Great for all ages.
20 September 2021 13:16
Very instructive on the story of Sir Henry Pellatt and a very beautiful castle. The only reason for the 4/5 stars is that it is unfortunately way too much crowed.
19 September 2021 12:00
Ambience and restaurant was beautiful (especially in the night), however, the food wasn't great at all.

Absolutely gorgeous! Stepping into Casa Loma feels like going back in time (in a castle heh). The architecture is breathtaking and the garden wis brilliant. If you love museums or reading those historical fantasy novels, I would definitely recommend coming here!

Great place - sad, stuffs are closed due to covid - but was driving by here a days back reminds my visit 2 years back here - was awesome experience

NUTCRACKER @ CASA LOMA: so what do you expect to see? Perhaps the nutcracker play or a choir? That's more likely, right? That was what I expected therefore got the tickets but guess what? It was rather a "nutcracker THEMED fair", so the place and staff is nutcracky and they have some little shows that you won't see neither, especially your little ones because the halls are too small and the crowd just too big. The ads and advertising is completely (and perhaps purposely) misleading for you to believe it's a show; absolutely nothing explains it a THEMED event instead of the play famously known as the Nutcracker. If I knew that, I would have dismissed it and look for tickets for a real show of the nutcracker either as a ballet dance, play, choir, puppets show, etc.

For someone wanting to visit Casa Loma, this could be an excellent chance to do it getting the plus of the ornaments and mood, big bonus! But for someone wanting the nutcracker show this was a complete RIP OFF.

The staff tried hard to make the mini shows palatable, especially for the kids that can not see a thing by the human wall of people between them and the "stage" but despite their best effort can not make up for the fraud. Now I know better. BUYERS BEWARE!

We went at Christmastime and enjoyed seeing the beautiful decorations. I loved the audio tour as it was full of interesting history of the house. Note that at Christmastime you should expect to wait a bit to get in

Un sitio incredible.y meterse en la cabeza de quien la diseno.en esa epoca? UNA mente brillante y audaz. Muchas cosas sucedieron ahi. Muchas historias. Vale la Pena! Y que Bellos jardines!

Visited both last Christmas and this Christmas. Great times! Stunning setting, nice onsite restaurants and lots of activities for the kids. Wish it was a little cheaper (especially for kids), but its a solid place to go, wander around, take beautiful photos and really get into the holiday spirit.
26 January 2019 23:30
This is a a great attraction to learn more about the history of Canada and Sir Henry Pellatt. I most disappointing part of the attraction is the underground tunnel there is not much to see and if there's a lot of people you might get stuck there.
20 January 2019 0:49
16 January 2019 3:41
Went for the christmas market and it was very cutely decorated but honestly considering the steep ticket price it was very anti climatic in terms of entertainment.
12 January 2019 9:04
Halloween is truly spectacular! Lines not long if you have tickets. Very scary. Some kids there. As an adult who gets scared easily. I did scream out loud several times. Overall lots of fun and have done every year. Bar is small and wouldn't get food but nice still.

I love Casa Loma itself. However, the legends of horror is absolutely pathetic. With the money that they are charging there is so much more that can be done with it. To pay $42.50 plus tax and not have many real actors in the horror house and just have random robots jump at you is just sad. It was very underwhelming, The space was very under utilized. You walk through the underground tunnels for quite some time, expecting something to jump out at you or shock you, but there was literally nothing. Very boring. It honestly felt like such a waste of time. I would not recommend this, unless you enjoy throwing money away. Screemers is so much better!

It was very crowded when I went in August and it was also very hot with no AC in the building, which made it very stuffy. But otherwise, we had a great time exploring the different rooms and outdoor grounds. We were on a schedule, so I felt a little rushed going through everything, but it was a great experience!

This castle, mansion, chateux whatever you want to call it sits on top of the highest point of St. Clair bluffs at 140 meters above sea level. It is an expansive building that occupies over 65000 sq ft.with over 80 rooms. It overlooks the city of Toronto and you can get an amazing panoramic view atop of the Norman turret. It used to be a private residence of Sir Henry Pellate. The interior design, lavish lifestyle tells a story of a man who was overly ambitious and saw little beyond himself. The building has been converted to a museum, a venue for events, a setting for a movie studio etc,

We went on Halloween (Haunted House). The price is reasonable and Casa Loma is a unique location with unique facilities that allow for an hour long walk in long hallways and winding stairs.

However, the place is extremely busy, with very limited parking. They closed a parking lot for an event and left everyone who bought haunted house tickets scrambling to look for parking elsewhere. This is ridiculous, parking is already expensive. But now, we aren't even sure if it would be available. On top of this, the haunted house walk is crowded with no crowd management whatsoever. People walk slow and the entire place is backed up so much that all the "scares" can be seen from a mile away. Honestly, better management could make this place a gold mine but as it stands. Meh.
