Had been previously and had good experience but this time we made reservation and were late due to heavy traffic. It took us 1.5 hours to get there and due to being late our table was given away and wait time was over 2 hours. It was my partners bday so it was disappinting and frustrating they didnt try more to accomodate and setup a small table. I have seen this done at other restaurants. Ended up going to another restaurant and they were also busy but were able to accomodate. Will be better off going elsewhere in future

I just ate at the best Filo restaurant in Toronto so far! I was craving for an authentic Filipino food after my doctor’s appointment and glad I came across Casa Manila. I ordered their bangsilog and boy, it did not disappoint! I don’t know how they do it, but the garlic rice, egg & bangus was on point! It was a simple dish but they took it the next level. I devoured that dish! And they have the nicest, most polite and accommodating crew - Allan, Mary Jane & cook Rowena were superb! I’ll be back for sure I bought halo halo for take out and can’t wait to eat it at home. Thanks Casa Manila for satisfying my cravings!

Average size restaurant and well decorated.
Food is good and service size is average.
Service from Nina was great. Few parking spots at the front and back of the building.

It's so amazing place to get together. Foods so good plus san Miguel and Red horse that we really miss.

We love Casa Manila. The service is amazing and friendly. They like to accommodate requests. We tried sisig, adobo, pancit, and sinigang. All tasted absolutely incredible! I am a big fan of the sinigang here which is made from lots of fresh tamarind. Will come again many times:)

My friend and I came here for Summerlicious 2023. The atmosphere is lovely. You see the effort that they want to transport you to the Phils.

Our appetizer course we ordered the chicken lumpia and mango salad. Both were fine. The mango salad I feel was refreshing, but something I could find at home.

Our entrees included the chicken Adobo which my friend ordered, and I ordered the crispy palabok. The adobo portion was much larger than I thought with a generous scoop of coconut rice and some salad. It tasted good, however it was somewhat cold. My crispy palabok was definitely interesting. So its the palabok base, and the noodles are maybe the rice noodles we use for pancit and it was fried to a crispy texture and added on top which is very different than I'm use to. I enjoyed it! The palabok base was yummy, but could have used some acid.

For dessert My friend ordered the mini turon which she enjoyed. I ordered the ube creme Brule and a coffee. The coffee came out In a French press which I was very excited about, however, the coffee was so awful I couldn't drink it. The ube Brule mediocre, but the custard was cold and eggy. It wasn't smooth at all. Its was like when you over bake a lecheflan.

I still like the food here at Casa Manila. I think I might stick to the original food menu instead of trying the modern twists.

The staff was wonderful. Very kind and friendly.

Very very unorganized workers unbelievable some people are not getting smarter at all, they don't check online orders when the driver arrives then they are checking on online orders, and very slow workers, I don't know what to say.
22 January 2022 15:04
Lovely place. The food tastes like it was made with care and not rushed. Just the way I like it.
20 January 2022 0:53
The best Filipino restaurant in Toronto. The staff are so friendly, service is exceptionally outstanding. We've been patronizing their food for years and we held my mom's 90th birthday celebration at this restaurant and they made sure all guests were happy. They catered to all our requests and needs.

Dumpster fire.

Ordered COMBINATION PICK 3 $65.95 and COMBINATION PICK 5 $62.95.

Combination pick 3 =
Grilled Pork Belly = literally all fat and chewy
Crispy Baby Squid = 90% batter, 10% chewy squid
Beef Kaldereta = decent
Steamed or Garlic Rice = doesnt even taste like anything

Combination pick 5 =
Sizzling Chicken Sisig = this is fried chicken skin.i dont know what i expected, but surely not something so fried and salty.
Filipino Beef Steak = it tasted like beef.just straight beef.
Chicken & Vegetable Chopsuey = the only actually good thing on this menu.i'd be surprised if they messed up the vegetables - but then on further inspection, I realized we only had a crumb or two of chicken
Steamed or Garlic Rice = mentioned above

Such a disappointment. Everything was overpriced, underportioned, and taste quiet bland or terrible. I actually got an upset stomach after this. 10/10 would not recommend.

Casa Manila has the kindest staff memebers of any restaurant ive eaten at. This young gentleman greeted me and my grandma as we entered, sat us down, gave us water and was very polite. He even held the door for my grandma as we enetered and as we left. What a true man.
25 December 2021 5:15
Went here and used a Groupon worth $20.00 (for the price of $12.00) and ordered the beef steak. The container is not even half full. Its like giving you a portion for the $12.00 price you paid at Groupon! Do Better.
22 December 2021 22:36
First time eating here and it was great! Food tasted great, service was very friendly as it should be. Will definitely come back!
28 November 2021 18:28
Went here for halo halo and OMG they did not disappoint! We got in fairly quick as they had a waiting list for dine in on a Friday night and food service was busy but because we just had dessert it came pretty quick for us!

It was heavenly and perfect to share between two people.the dessert bowl was bigger than my head with all my dessert craving fixings!

Would highly recommend… I will be back for dinner!

Case Manila makes you feel like you’re in the Philippines. The place is quaint, and filled with unique and native decor. They even have OPM music in the background. It’s a little pricey, but worth it. We had the kare kare and the liempo. Delicious! They even sell the sauce they make in-house so you can prepare your kare kare at home. We didn’t have to wait too long for the food, and the staff was friendly. Would go back again!

Update to a 5 star. (2021) We order and the food came right away and the portions were excellent and super tasty, the dessert are amazing and the options for gluten free are above and beyond our expectations compare with years ago. Service was excellent and fast, defenetly we are coming back soon.

(2018) Food was OK, the soup was cold when we received it and was greasy (could improve taste if was hot). We have to wait over an hour and 20 minutes to received the main course that makes the dinning experience to be some how disappointing; When your kids are asking for food and you can not get it it makes things worse, the point to have a set menu even with add ons should make things easier.

NOTE: The table beside, party of 6 has their food and gone in 40min (a la carte) no waiting, no issues.

MANAGEMENT should inform when making a reservation that food will not be serve if some one is missing in your party so people can be aware and able to decided or make the proper arrangements.

I really appreciate than you can accommodate or needs in the sence of glutten free options for my kids and wife

Atmosphere is excellent, the service overall was good but the fact to have a set menu and denied service to your table if the entire party is not rhat good, if we request the food to be serve I don't see why it shouldn't when you have small kids. (Party of 12- 10 people on the table but have to wait until the 2 people arrived as per management or what ever you want to call it).

I am not Philipino but if the culture is different and push kids aside or give them 0 importance due age creates an issue for me (my kids are more important than any adult and should be some respect in than matter **we are in Canada**)

If you want to sit and relax for dining-in Casa Manila is the ONE. The only restaurant that serves ALA CARTE & INDIVIDUAL KAMAYAN FEAST; It's pricey but you can sit and be served; nothing much to complain; the food are yummy, prices okay on my budget to enjoy the meal with my family and friends; during these pandemic prices goes up high; if you can afford prices of CASA MANILA go for it; if you complain too much of the prices; there are lots of Filipino cuisine around Toronto that you can try; the foods are sitting on their counter buffet more than few hours and some are drying and you GOT FOOD COMBOS after paying have to serve yourselves! While at CASA if you are lazy to cook like me and want to be serve and treat yourself to sit and relax with your guests, as i said CASA MANILA is the ONLY ONE! I don't want to complain about the parking, it was a small plaza, it was explained to us that the parking lot at the front of the stores needed to be shared with other stores customers; we are instructed would be nice if we will park underground; which is totally fine for me and my guests. We will definitely come back. Thank you so much for the yummy food and for the friendly servers!
14 October 2021 12:40
Nice atmosphere with wide selection of food. Great food presentation with great taste, but most of all great staff, esp Doods and Medi. Will definitely come back!
05 October 2021 14:13
Thank you Casa Manila and the staffs for the lovely food! In spite being busy on your Saturday party; me and my group enjoyed the food and the service is excellent! Keep up the good work!
02 October 2021 22:48
Disappointing. Sad, really. I had been told several times by different friends and associates that Casa Manila was really something special. The general perception was that if you wanted a high-end Filipino lunch or dinner, then Casa Manila is the place to go. Expensive, but worth it. So, I was optimistic and open-minded when I brought two Filipino guests to Casa Manila. [Note: Park your vehicle in the back, or in the garage. Parking in the front is for one hour only, and cars are ticketed regularly for parking longer than one hour. This parking information is posted in the comfort rooms, and not at the welcome desk. ] What we experienced was horrible service, and surprizingly substandard food. SERVICE: A large party had occupied most of the restaurant, and all of the attendants were focused on those patrons, exclusively. My table was served by the greeter, and by a nice boy who delivered things to our table and removed empty plates. Whenever we wanted something, we had to look for the greeter or the delivery boy and wave one of them to our table. This was difficult as they were often too occupied to respond to us. Early in the meal, we needed to order more rice, and so not only did we need to wave down the greeter to get more rice, but the rice only came some time after we had prompted the greeter once again near the end of the meal. Several times during the meal, both the greeter and the server tried to remove our plates with food still on them. It was impossible to relax because we continually felt rushed. We had ordered one item that was not served, and so we cancelled it at the end of the meal. The service was terrible. It is not an excuse that they were focused on a large party. If they did not have the personnel to properly serve patrons beyond the large party, then they should have given us the courtesy of cancelling our reservation. There were many places to eat nearby, and in retrospect, we would have preferred to dine at any of the alternatives that day. FOOD: The only items that we enjoyed was a pitcher of Calamansi Mojito non-alcoholic drink ($19), and a small (still pretty large) Halo Halo ($13). The Beef Bulalo soup ($23) was hard to finish. It was salty, and oily. The beef was dry (in a soup!?), and, thus, probably was too lean. The Pork Adobo ($19) had no flavour. It was salty, and oily. It tasted like salted roughage. The Crispy Pork Belly ($19) did not have flavour! It was roughage! If you can’t believe what you are reading, then you know how we felt when my table couldn’t believe what we were eating! These are basic traditional dishes that are always full of flavour, and that always taste good at the most modest restaurant; but at Casa Manila, they had no flavour! They looked picturesque, but they all tasted like salt and roughage! To continue: The Calamares ($12) was unremarkable. The Salted Egg & Tomato Salad ($9) was unremarkable. The Fried Garlic White Rice ($18 for 2) did not have the addictive flavour that Fried Garlic Rice usually has; the flavour was bland, and one of my guests was particularly disappointed by its unusually ‘dry’ consistency. In conclusion, after tax and before tip, the lunch cost $150. It was worse than just a waste of time and money because it was not a pleasant meal. We are not hard to please, but we did not enjoy the food, and the service was deplorable. We will not return to Casa Manila. A restaurant that charges high-end prices (for Filipino food) needs to provide food and service that is extraordinary. Since we would have found more flavour and better service at many other modest Filipino restaurants in Toronto, Casa Manila absolutely deserves a 1-star rating.

I paid $17.95 for beef stake which has 8 pcs of thinly slice beef and 4 onions with rice on the side. That is way too expensive for small portion. Didnt even tatste good. Very disappointed.
22 September 2021 17:20
Very thankful for the team at Casa for kindly accommodating my wife and I's last minute wedding reception. They were able to work with us at a tight schedule to set up a menu that had no shortage of variety. Staff members were kind and attentive as well making sure everyone was served. To the owner (s) and the rest of the team at Casa Manila, thank you again from my wife and I for hosting us on our special day!
10 September 2021 13:44
Our experience was super disappointing. We ordered the Kamayan. On the menu it says that there can be a 30min-1 hour wait. The kitchen told our table it would be about 45 minutes. Almost an hour and a half later still no sign of our food. One person in our party waited about 40 minutes just to get her drink. Our server only came once to pour water and never came to our table again. The poor hostess was really nice but overworked and had to fill in for the wait staff. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were first told ok, but then after we finished our meals that there was “no manager present” that evening. Overall, it’s a shame because the ambience was nice and the food was not bad though overpriced for what it was. Unfortunately, none of us will be back.
04 September 2021 5:02
The food and service are pretty good. The price is a little too high for the portions. If you want to try Filipino food then this would be a decent place to start.
29 August 2021 0:47
Delicious vegan Filipino dish options like kare-kare, Adobo, Pancit, laing, etc. Friendly and cozy atmosphere. Will have to come back for vegan halo-halo!
25 August 2021 10:48
Not impressed with this takeout at all.
The rice was hard.
The meat was rock hard.
The skewer was overcooked.
The salad was super sour.
27 June 2021 0:09
I often take my friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The dishes they serve are tasty and the crew is welcoming and cooperative.always when we eat in this place we enjoy a pleasing evening.warmly recommended.
22 June 2021 7:57
Tried their adobo chicken, which costs almost $20. Not too impressed by the quality of this order though. Maybe I didn't order the right dishes.

New: in his/her response below the owner of the restaurant has suggested some other dishes. I will try a couple of them later this summer.
27 May 2021 22:15
I got their chicken sisig rice combo. It was served cold. Portions were tiny and overall very overpriced. Definitely will not be returning
26 May 2021 7:18
Amazing selection of Filipino vegan food, slightly expensive but the flavours and service were spot on!
16 May 2021 16:13
Food is OK but overpriced with small portions. Service excruciatingly slow just like in the Philippines so at least that's authentic. They've spruced up the place with some tropical decor and the patio is also cozy.

The crispy pata has improved - the meat is flaky and the skin crispy with just the right amount of fat. The pinakbet and kare-kare are decent too. A surprise was the pork sisig, not as finely chopped as the traditional pub food version but still tasty with lots of crispy bits - perfect with a cold beer.
02 March 2019 19:57
Great Filipino eats and friendly service. We went at Xmas time, and they were playing Tagalog xmas songs. Such a nice experience.
12 February 2019 18:48
Food was good but was a bit disappointed with the portion. We paid 29.99$ for a preset menu which contained 1 chicken skewers, 3 pieces of bbq beef, chopped crispy pork, 1 shrimp, veggies and rice. We had kamayan and if you look below at the picture the food was divided so that each person got a share. All I have to say is it was way overpriced.
17 January 2019 2:26
SMALL PORTIONS!

You get to spend around $20 for 1 dish which good for 1 person only!
Sadly this is not how it used to be!
15 January 2019 23:43
Great food, but a bit overpriced. Owner cares mostly about the customers that will spend the most in her restaurant.
13 January 2019 21:08
Thank you Casa Manila! We had a great time of festival of food.celebrating of 2 birthdays.
Yummy food, I enjoyed all.the service was superb
13 January 2019 19:50
We had a wedding reception last December 8,2018. It was a simple one but so memorable. Thank you Mila for making it so perfect for us, thank you for everything that you've done. From our cakes, decorations, everything was so beautiful. The food was fantastic especially the lechon! So tasty and delicious. It was a Christmas wedding theme because of all the Parols (Christmas Lanterns) It feels like home. Mila and all the crews was so organized so I truly recommend Casa Manila for all kinds of occasions. If there is a 10 stars on this review I will definitely give this to Casa Manila. Keep It up guys. Merry Christmas and Happy new Year. God bless you all and more power! Thank You very much!
08 January 2019 5:30
The restaurant is a labour of love, and it shows in the ambiance and the food. I would recommend it to anyone looking to experience Filipino food and culture. My only regret was not going to this place sooner.
07 January 2019 14:35
I was not impressed with the idea of higher priced Filipino restaurant. The first time, I was there for dinner awhile back. The prices were a little higher than expected but the dishes were good. But there are many options to get Filipino food from more casual take out places which serve as good Filipino fare as this place. Now moving forward to now. I was very impressed with their lunch buffet. Reasonale price for all you want to try. Not a huge spread: Soup, 2 kinds of rice, pork, beef, chicken, vermacelli dishes and couple of dessert choices. But well worth a try. They have a owner who is innovative and trying new options to attract customers. If you are new to Filipino cuisine, start with their lunch buffet.
05 January 2019 17:45
Worst place. Not recommended, customer service is sucks. Food is not good. Workers are bad! 30 mins to wait for a glass of water. Flies were playing around the table. Servers don’t care about us and don’t treat us good! There’s old Filipina server who doesn’t know how to work in customer service! She took our order twice and when I asked her if the my order is ready, still she doesn’t know the order and the order is not ready yet!
They will give you the bill right away even though you aren’t finish eating yet and haven’t receive all your order! Wth

I suggest that servers should have proper training how to give satisfying customer service to your guests.

Waste of time and money!
22 December 2018 14:50
Horrible service. Slower than snails. We're already getting buffet style which requires no service but they took 30mins to get us the bill. Please do yourself a favour and avoid giving your money to this place.
12 December 2018 21:39
Food is great, service is friendly. Service is also slow and its kind of pricey, but portions are large.
09 November 2018 9:02
The food is great and there are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options as well as gluten free if options.
30 September 2018 12:11
The food is decent, but they don't allow for more than one Kamayan choice per party and the default Kamayan set does not habe the best food choices - pork skewer, liempo, beef steak, squid, halo halo.
The Kamayan also takes a painfully long time to arrive; our party was seated at our reservation time, 6: 30pm, and the soup came out around 7: 15pm.
As for the a la carte menu, the kare kare is bland and lechon is overcooked, but the pork sisig, chicken sisig fries, and Kaldereta are pretty tasty, albeit all of it is very overpriced.

Lastly, the ventilation in here is nonexistent so the amount of smoke that comes from grilling the meat is overwhelming.
24 September 2018 16:17
If you've had home cooked Filipino food before then you'll know this place hits the spot. Chicken adobo was on point and the halo halo was spot on!
24 September 2018 15:04
Probably my fave Filipino restaurant for flavour, atmosphere, and comfort food craving satisfaction. To be honest, i have not tried the Kamayan but love the drums and intro. One day I will but for now I love the a la carte menu with faves such as pork sisig, their scrumptious adobo, kare kare, and binge worthy fried platter (with crispy pata still so noshable at 12 am leftover take home). And one has to stop themselves from gorging on the fried garlic rice on everything. Don't get me started on the desserts. Throw the diet out the door but indulge in wonderful Filipino food and hospitality.
19 September 2018 17:43
It was awesome! The tastiest food in North York! But if you see "spicy" marker in menu it's mean really spicy like in hell)
15 September 2018 10:01
We were there today (party of 5) for lunch. We had guests from Florida and since this was close to my work we decided to have lunch before they head to the airport. We had the buffet lunch. Selection was very limited and there was very little food. There was a container for steamed rice but there was no rice. Chicken adobo had 4 pieces only. There was pancit, beef stew, tortang talong, chicken adobo, chopseuy, one green salad, mongo, Shanghai, lechon kawali, fish and chicken skin. There were 4 items on the desert table. I was disappointed with the very limited selection. I will not go back again.
12 September 2018 21:57
Had a truly amazing dining experience here. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and welcoming. The owner greeted us in person, and he was so inviting. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a Kamayan dinner - a large serving of rice and a variety of meat served on banana leaves. My group are by hand. We stayed late, and we did not feel rushed or pressured to leave. I will be coming back here with my family and friends. Highly recommend this place, it is a hidden gem. I rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed by everything that I wanted to make sure that this restaurant and the people who make it so great, receive the praise they deserve.
05 September 2018 17:47
The food at Casa Manila was good however I had a ton of issues with my experience with the restaurant overall.

So, prior to the reservation, I had booked online one week in advance for the premium seafood kamayan dinner. Then, called a couple of days later to confirm via telephone and to also provide my credit card information for the deposit. I specified garlic rice when confirming my reservation by phone.

When we arrived on Sunday June 24, the people were confused with what we were having for dinner and sat us at a non-kamayan table and then moved us to a kamayan table. This was mildly annoying and I guess set the tone as to what we were to expect for the evening. Then, a waitress came by and reread my order, which she reiterated garlic rice and I confirmed. When the food came out, there was no garlic rice. When I asked about it, the waitress was like, oh I think you misunderstood, the garlic rice is an extra charge, and I was like. I know! I asked for it! She was like, okay, we will bring it out on the side, but they never did.

Also, expect really slow service. We were there for 2.5 hours. It was a combination of waiting for a long time for our food, and the wait time between the main meal and dessert was extra long. And finally, it was extremely difficult to find anyone working there to give us our bill.

Then they had the audacity to charge me for the garlic rice that I never got. When I said that, the waiter's response was "are you sure!? " He eventually credited the $4 back and also said that he gave us an extra $1 back, so credited me back $5 total on a $250 bill.

Additionally, I was unaware that there was going to be an automatic 20% tip for the dinner. I did not see it on their menu online, nor was I told on the telephone nor was I told when we arrived.

Lastly, they just called me today, on June 25,2018 to ask me if I had a reservation for today. I have no idea why they are so confused and disorganized.

The food overall was very good. It was very unfortunate that we did not get the garlic rice because I've been told by others who've had kamayan that the garlic rice is really good. This was my first kamayan experience, and I enjoyed it, but I do not think I would come back to Casa Manila. I'd rather try another place.
22 August 2018 13:29
I visited CASA Manila for the first time with my family to try their weekday buffet lunch. I appreciated that the food seemed to be prepared in small batches to ensure freshness and help with eliminating food waste. I don't have a lot of experience with Filipino food but everything I tried was delicious! Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive.
21 August 2018 17:49
This was an EXPERIENCE! We came just early enough to beat the dinner rush. Normally walk-ins can’t get the kumaya meal. It is very labour intensive. But they accommodated us and blew our minds. Though 2 of us were from the Philippines and a third had visited, all were impressed by the service and attention.

Be prepared to eat outside your comfort zone and have a culinary experience. Be open minded and willing to commit to the adventure. The food was spectacular and the service was just as good. We had the Kumaya 1. Pork belly was crispy and the prawns were soooo very good. Eating with your hands when you wouldn’t normally.well you just had to do it for the full immersion of the adventure. (Though they do provide lots of wet wipes or bamboo utensils if you just HAVE TO)

Remember, it doesn’t always have to be pretty it just has to be GREAT. (In this case it’s both)
19 August 2018 18:45
The waiting time is too long for kamayan it took 1 and a half hours for our food to come.
The ambiance is nice but I don't think the price and the waiting time is worth it for the food.
17 August 2018 21:53
Reserved a table for 3 online during a weekday, roughly an hour before closing in celebration of my mom's 65th birthday. We were seated right away and the restaurant was beautifully detailed and service was prompt and courteous. Food was good, a bit small in quantity for the prices but left full. The servers were so kind to my mom knowing it was her birthday, and everyone came over to serve her free ice cream with a unique birthday song and sparklers. Thank you to the Casa Manila staff who attended to us on July 31st 2018.
17 August 2018 6:19
Amazing Filipino food, the chicken adobo and Caldaretta were amazing, and the Halo Halo was a spectacle! Highly recommended
13 August 2018 7:59
Horrible service. Barely any communication from the waiters and waitresses. None of the food came to the table were even remotely warm and it all tasted horrible. The summerlicious menu we ordered was a complete mess; a few of the deserts came before all the main courses were delivered, starters were delivered randomly in between. Overall a horrible experience and would not revisit this restaurant again.
Edit: looked at the receipt again and realize we got charged extra when we asked the waiter (seems like the owner) to hurry up with the starters as all of our main course were delivered. An extra starter dish was charged when we only received what we ordered for. Seriously? Words cannot describe how disappointed i am at this restaurant
12 August 2018 9:48
The taste wasn't perfect. And it definitely does not worth the money. Plus their snail speed. We waited 3 hours to get the food. Absolutely ridiculous. Anyone who doesn't want to waste their life shall never come to here.

Edit: and you will get diarrhea.

I came here with my boyfriend and the first time we came, the service we got was exceptional and the food was amazing.
We decided to come back here for the second time and honestly, we really did expect better.

The waiter we got told us it was his first day so I respect that he tried his best to accommodate us despite it being so busy. After ordering our food, we expected the dishes to come one right after the other but this was not the case. There was at least a 10-20 minute wait time between each dish and we had to constantly ask the waiters/waitresses to check on when the next dish was ready or if it was on its way. When we got our bill, we had to remind them what we got because they added something to our final bill that we didn’t even place an order for.

All in all, the food was good but waiting for it was the problem. I’d recommend this place if you have time to spare and don’t mind waiting too long. Might be a while before we decide coming back here again to eat.
