Not what it used to be. The new owner Neil is very nice and awesome.
Aside from that.
- The new hours of operation are awful
- A pawn shop is meant for bargains! Not selling items for Jewlery Store prices. Or selling items for over what they cost brand new.
Example: They have a coin with a price tag of $399 on it. The Coin only cost brand new originally from the royal canadian mint $175-$200. Just because people online are asking $399 for the same coin, doesn't mean you should.
People on ebay are mostly crazy, inflating prices. Asking $1000 for a bad condition, circulated $2.00 bill. Just to see if someone will buy it. Just because you can slap any price on an object, doesn't mean you should, or that you should follow suite.
Jewlery prices are the same as prices at a name brand Jewlery Store.
Edit: I've shopped here for a really long time. The staff has always been great and super friendly. The deals were always great too. But that's the key word. The prices WERE great. Now I can't afford most of the things I used to buy here. They also don't offer the "no tax with cash" option anymore. Really unfortunate that the new owner ruined what was once one of my favourite places to shop.
Everyone that works here is so friendly and helpful, but Michael always goes above and beyond in every transaction. He’s always super happy and energetic, kind, and understanding. Every time I go in I look forward to seeing him & interacting with him in general. Thank you Michael! Also best hair in town
I've been coming here for years mostly just browsing, I've sold 2 or 3 items I no longer needed, the last time I was there I was looking to sell 2 grams of TD gold bars first guy offered me $80 went back a few days later I was then offered $60 for my 2 grams of gold, obviously I didn't sell it to them, they really do low ball you and sell super high! I definitely recommend selling on Kijiji or Marketplace.
Staff are friendly enough but the prices on some of their merchandise is ridiculous. I went in to look at an used diamond ring that was priced at 2400$, upon doing some more research on the ring I found an American online dealer selling the exact same ring, same set, same clarity, same number of karets etc. Selling for 1300$ brand spanking new, though it's worth 2800$ according to their website. Sorry can't take Cash Connections seriously after this experience.
Found my THE BEST little record player there. Almost brand new and sounds amazing! Got ripped off on Kijiji not too long ago trying to find a decent one. Will definitely be shopping here again.
That guy Shane is rude on the phone not very good customer service skills very poor. Other than that unfortunate addition to the cash con family everything is up to par!
Love the tools and the guitars. Things seem reasonably priced. Just got a compressor, a set of bits, a hammer drill and an air wrench for 130 bucks. Hard to beat that
Always a friendly place To purchase some second hand the main dude is always so nice and kind some of the employees are also bit mainly the dude it’s so proper with help knowledge and goodbyes! Place to go Forsure it’s Oshawa so give them a break they deal with a lot of people I rate 5/5 people I always get help no matter what mood someone is in:) I will recommend it to all my friends in Mississauga when they need tools for work I pick them up and bring them to them!
These guys are the best, they offer the most for your stuff you don’t need anymore and they sell the most reasonable prices in all of Canada! Highly recommend this spot great people and great prices can’t go wrong!

This is a great place to deal with as I went there to sell something. The staff is very friendly and polite. When this COVID calms down, I plan to do some shopping there-seems like they have a fair amount of stuff for sale.
Extremely happy with the service provided at this location of cash connections. A very polite and knowledgeable associate Mike helped me out with everything I needed. I would recommend this store to friends and family in need of something to buy or sell. 5

This place gets 10 stars? I brought a item in and even know that they were not intrested in buying it, Daniel spent some time with me. I never do reviews. But this place is great. So let the would know
Very impressed by the service at this shop, extremely fair and understanding. Would recommend this shop out of any other I have been to in the Durham Region. Looking forward to going to the shop in the near future.
Absolute worst pawn shop i have ever seen would recommend any other shop in oshawa. They lost my stuff i put on buy back which i payed back and was trying to retrieve my stuff the guy with the red hair (chumlee) made me wait for almost an hour just to tell me i had to come back the next day because they were too incompitent to find my stuff nor would they refund my money definately steer clear of this place! Hopefully i save you some time
Ive come in many times daniel-son (daniel) michael, chris and nadia all make me feel like its an extended family there ill always bring my business there could never say anything bad.
The lady's and gentlemen down at cash connections are just the greatest. Greatest to deal for any need you may have. They've always done right by me and treat me with dignity and respect. Thanks cash connections
Anyone who has nothing nice to say about these wonderful people, maybe ur really the issue. Thank u for being more than accommodating to my needs. Michael u absolutely rock.
This place is a joke. The owner of this place always smells like he's drinking. They are over price on a lot of there Items. The buyers are a big time low ballers i would not recommend this place. There a lot of better second-hand store in Oshawa.
Have been dealing with these guys for about 3 years now, and have never had a bad experience. I have never felt like I’ve been ripped off. Would highly recommend them to anyone
A great store with very knowledgable and friendly staff. Always fair pricing and very helpful to its many returning customers. Best pawn shop in Durham and a great family run business. Thanks for always taking care of me.
I will agree with most, don't sell your items here. They will offer nothing on your merchandise hoping you take it. Buying is a Hit & Miss sometimes it's full and other times it's the left over junk. About the tools especially the drills they are completely filthy sometimes, a simple cleaning or not buying them from that customer is best. They have a 30 day warranty but not your money back. I would not take a risk on something with grim and grease that is a 50% chance it's a lemon that they bought for $10-15 and want $65.00.many folks take care of there tools and still use them daily at work so I'm curious who they buy from. Customer service was never really an issue, they did have a trashy blonde that worked the jewellery area that would just yell with customers in the store. Really made you think your in a Pawn shop and in Oshawa, she's gone now and everything is nice and quiet now.just make sure you test everything out prior to buying and looking over everything you buy. After 20 years they have gotten the buying part down as they have line ups for desperate customers that will take $2.00 or $10. Will still shop here but wanted to give my review on the store.
