Castle John's Pub and Restaurant Cobourg

We have visited a few different Castle John's locations and all are top notch! We'll stop by the Cobourg location next time we are pass through town!

Warm and friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed every bite of my meal and Callie was attentive without being overbearing!

The food is good, and our waitress Stephanie was so great! Very friendly and helpful with deciding what to order.

Came here for lunch Callie was our server and was amazing! Super attentive and made sure our dining experience was great.

The only restaurant in Cobourg that doesn't have wi fi. Need to upgrade the look and refinish the ripped seats in the booths.

Worst food ever! We were a party of 6.4 got their food, the other 2 got their food 10+ minutes later. 3 orders of ribs and wings were undercooked. Couldn't get the meat off the bones and one order was freezer burnt with bits of foil paper stuck on it.

We hadn't been here in a while, and I doubt we will go back. The food was below standards for average pub food - disappointing. There was a man at the bar clearly drunk who continued to be served. The only saving grace was our server. Very nice young women, attentive and helpful. Overall, it's not at the level we expected for the price ticket

The food is good but the service is terrible. Employees don’t care, it takes a long time to get a table even it was a empty place…
Also, nobody came to get the order. We had to go ask waitress to come and get the order…

Wait was nearly 2 hours for food, when everyone got their meals the food was stone cold. Not worth the money.

We had my sons hockey team lunch at Castle John's on a Saturday. Manager Julie was amazing to work with. We all preordered for a set time to ensure we got all of our orders & bills in great time so we could get back to the arena for our next game. Our group of 31 had a great time, enjoyed our food & had amazing service all around, especially from Julie. Thanks again, we will be sure to book there again when in the area.

Terrible Experience. We called and made a reservation of 13 people to come eat dinner after my daughter's hockey game. The waitress said the table will be ready in 20 minutes. That was no problem. We hung around at the arena and made our way down. When we arrived they had not had the table ready but the part that was upsetting was the staff talking loudly about us saying that they told it would be 20 minutes, another staff saying they told us half hour. Either way that was fine. We waited and they sat us.

Drinks took a very long time to arrive. We waited close to 1.5 hrs for food. The food was cold for 5 of the plates! When you are paying $35 for a steak you want it to be somewhat warm. The potatoes were ice cold! My sisters bacon was still frozen near the end of her sandwich. My mom's fish was burnt. Our nephew fell asleep at the table because the food took so long to arrive. The waitress that brought our food tried to make us out to be liars saying "the cook said he had all plates under the heat lamp". I was a server for 8 years. You never say that to a customer. We were still friendly towards the servers and gave them a 18% tip but they didn't try to comp us for anything or throw in a courtesy dessert like I would have done but that's ok. We won't be back.

The bartender was more interested in having shot's with her friends and everyone else was treated like a inconvenience. At one point I even felt threatened bye the crowd it was not welcoming at all

We have been to this establishment several times now, and we had the pleasure of meeting Julie. Julie goes above and beyond. She was very attentive and our whole group was so impressed with her service. We will now make this our local regular place we come for a drink and food! Amazing! We love this place!

Recently had our staff Christmas Party here and the food and service was excellent! The wait staff were very attentive and speedy when it came to delivering food and drinks. Thank you again and Merry Christmas to your team!

My husband daughter and myself stopped by for a nice Friday dinner. Server was inattentive. Ordered apps that came after our main meals were served. Food was half cold on one plate, fully cold on another. $120 for a cold experience by both server and kitchen.
The server came by once to see if we needed anything.
This is the second time I’ve come to this restaurant and had the same experience.
We won’t be giving it a third try.

Went for an impromptu late lunch. Never been there before and it was quite nice. Good food and nice environment. Would definitely go back!

What a great place. Was there with some friends the night before his wedding. Even the owner come to our table to celebrate his soon to be wedding. The staff were so nice. Very clean. The food was fantastic.

Terrible. Ordered a wrap came on a hoagie sub style. I guess because I got delivery they didn't think that I needed to be notified the main part of the menu item had been changed.

We had a really good time at Castle johns Cobourg! The food was astonishing, and it was served to us fast. The waitress, Jessica, was very friendly and kind, while taking our order, as well as serving us. She checked on us often. I will definitely come back to this amazing restaurant!

Great place, Friendly staff, Great prices. Got a little crazy for the last while but the new staff seems to be getting a lot better and more efficient. I recommend this restaurant.

We have always been very satisfied with our food but last night was not acceptable. It was not busy but we waited 25 minutes for a server to come to our table. We finally order our food, lasagna, steak medium and ribs and wings. After 45 minutes finally got our food. My steak was so well done I could hardly get a knife through it. My veggies were cold. The wings were luke warm and the lasagna could have been hotter.
I told the server about my food and she offered to replace it but we had already been there longer than we planned I declined. The server said they would take some off the bill.
Well they did give us a credit of $2.40 for a meal I was unable to eat. We were shocked to say the least. We won't be back!

Nice staff, but I"m not sure how this pub makes money - twice I tried to go in and have something to eat, and was ignored. I got up and left. I'm also a driver doing deliveries, this is one of the places I avoid having to pickup from. This place wouldn't exist long outside of a small town.

Very varied menu. Took 20 min after ordering for food to arrive. Not hot just warm. Fish n chip and bangers n mash. Both were good. Clean and friendly staff. Will try the specials during the week for reasonable prices.

Normally 5 star. We happened to be in a hurry today but service was slow. Just getting ready to leave when a waitress finally came. Said no one told her we were there. Food is always good. Portion for cost is good.

So many food choices, reasonably priced, hard to decide buy pick a different item every time you go, you won't be disappointed. Friendly staff, fast prompt service on refills.

The food was great but we were there as a party of twelve and the birthday girl, here dinner was forgotten about until the end. We were unhappy about that. My daughter in-law was upset about it so just have to keep onto them on service.

Amazing wings. Decent beer prices. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Plenty of tv's for viewing sports.

We stoped here on a Saturday afternoon. We had pouting and Philly steak sandwich they both were great. The fries were crispy the put load of cheese and they gave me extra gray. The sandwich was delicious. I would rather again and would recommend it to anyone. There prices were very good.

There was 4 of us for lunch.our 1st time here. Food was excellent, and we loved the friendly service. WE WILL BE BACK.

My husband and I are at your location on May 5. I ordered chicken curry and had to pick out the pieces of sharp bay leaves.chef should know you don't crush there.can do serious harm.husband had coleslaw which was sooo spicy and could not eat this.since when is coleslaw so spicy?
No acknowledgement from anyone when we brought this to our waiters attention

The staff is extremely friendly the service fantastic, place was really clean and had live entertainment! Prices are the best I've seen in a long long time food was delicious and plenty of it

What an amazing job everyone did at Castle Johns tonight!
Our volleyball league had our end of season bash here. The appy platter, nachos, pizza and garlic bread were all super, hot and delicious.
The wait staff handled our 9 teams with ease. Fast, courteous and ready to help in any way.
Way to go Castle Johns!

Nice sports bar. There were TVs literally everywhere. The wings are massive and usually on for a pretty good deal. The staff was friendly and attentive despite it being very busy. Would recommend.

Our first visit: Our fish tacos were still frozen, the pasta was cold, the garlic bread still had un-melted butter on it, the philly steak sandwich had no meat on one side and very little on the other.restaurant was empty and service was slow. Disappointed. We won't be returning. Server apologized, but we still paid for everything.

I have to say the food is good but it is not a good place to go for lunch if you only have a hour. I have been there twice now at lunch times and you will be 40 minutes or more by the time you get served, they need more staff on during the lunch rush.

I went for lunch and tried the Gourmet Burger, it was a rather fantastically crafted burger! Delicious food, surprisingly quick service, kind staff, can't ask for much more! Oh and there's a bunch of TV's, more than anywhere else around so a good sports bar!

Food prices are as you'd expect at a bar.

Been here a couple times, really enjoy the atmosphere. Love the bartender with the funny socks. Enjoyed the wings, my favourite is Mexican hot!

This is my favorite local pub. The food is great here, never disappointed so far. Also a decent selection of local beers. Decor is modern and a great place to watch a game or catch up with old friends. Reasonably priced too. If it's not evident by now I really like this place lol!

Their menu is HUUGE, and they give you pretty big portions for the price. Everything I've tried there so far has been amazing. They have TV's within view from literally anywhere (there's even one in the floor not kidding).

This place is pretty good. I highly recommend trying the fish tacos that are an appetizer but just have them it's a main. Maybe get two of them. They're really good. Definitely want to add the Tabasco sauce. Normally I don't do this but it really makes them awesome.

Food was good. Bathrooms and facility was clean for the most part. However they had left some glasses and garbage in the small pool area. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is one pool table, however not the easiest to play on due to positioning.

Wings over cooked.with a side of deep fried mystery meat.mac/cheese with lobster didn't taste anything like anything.fish tacos over deep fried.however the waitress was awesome
