CECEBE RETREAT

My family and I booked a cottage here with no prior experience and were absolutely blown away! The owners stocked up the house with absolutely EVERYTHING you could need to have an enjoyable stay. The matching house decor was a really nice touch! The BBQ was brand new, and the owner installed a brand new dock on our second day. Perfect for swimming and star gazing! We had a private beach with a beautiful view. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend Cecebe Retreat to anyone looking for a relaxing lakeside getaway!

Wasn’t sure what to expect when the wife brought me out. Had a great time. Boats and lots of space to relax and forget the city. Friendly hosts, fantastic decor and layout of house and land. Great stay.

Great well stocked cottage, sandy entrance to water, lots of fun for the whole family. Accommodated our family of 8 adults and 4 children easily.

Had a fantastic weekend at Cecebe Retreat! We enjoyed the beautiful water view and it’s so quiet and peaceful, definitely will be back! Highly recommended!

Great stay. Owners are super nice. We've stayed here twice and both times it didn't disappoint. Main cottage is great, kept well and the lake has great fishing.

Enjoyed a wonderful weekend with kids and friends at Cecebe Retreat on Septembre 11 and 12. The views of Lake Cecebe are magnificent from the cottage house rooms, the balcony, the back porch, the waterfront grass, and the dock. The rooms are spacious, super clean, well furnished and tastefully decorated. The amenities are in very good condition. Great experience of kayaking, canoeing, boating into the lake and around the island.
Beautiful loon sound was heard at 10: 00-11: 00pm when we sat around the bonfire listening to the whispers of nature. The loon vocals lasted for quite a while. I actually recorded the loon vocals with background water sound and wind from the woods and trees.
The owner, Rachael and Luc are super nice and friendly.
Their dog, Stout liked my dog Billy. They ran around across 2 acres of retreat land and had a wonderful time together.
Some of the trees started to turn red over the weekend. Luc said the mountains around the lake will all turn red by the end of Septembre.
It was truly a nice and unforgettable retreat weekend. Will definitely go back.

Cecebe retreat is a very beautiful place if you are a hard worker you need to come to this cottage, we had a beautiful time there, in the night we set on campfires we cooked marshmallows and feeling the sensation of the little breeze on your face it is very relaxing.in the daytime we went kayaking, canoes, playing water and fishing we had a lot of fun there.

We had a fantastic time at the Cecebe Retreat. Rachel & Luc were great hosts. The cottage was very clean and had all the amenities we needed.

Definitively the best place to stay and enjoy in family, just a couple hours drive from Toronto/ GTA area, the cottage has all you can need, my grown up kids were working remotely what was very easy for them due to a good internet service, Luc and Rachel are excellent hosts and they assure your experience is unique, supermarket is a diving 15 minutes, and there is a lot of area to explore, kayak and paddle boat is also at the site, I will stay longer than I did by next time.

Cecebe Retreat is so beautiful and woundful cottage. It is so lovely and I am very enjoy it. Very nice owner I met. I feel so relax to spent best time with family and friends there. It is so clean, peaceful and beautiful place. Blue sky and room color impress me a lot. Of course I will come back again. See you Cecebe Retreat in different seasons.

We had an amazing time at this cottage! The home is very spacious, perfect for a large family and the property is perfect with the lake in your back yard. They also have tons of equipment for fun on the lake that includes kayaks, a canoe and paddle boats. I highly recommend this beautiful place and would definitely book again!

A perfect place to stay with friends if you want a fun and relaxing time by the beach. The cottage was super roomy and accommodating. Had an absolutely amazing time here at Cecebe Retreat Cottages. The cottage was perfectly furnished for my guests and I. Super private area and gives that home away from home feel while being right on the lake. Will be back again very soon!

We recently spent our much needed staycation on the week of July 1st here. This is our 4th summer going to this place since 2017 and it has always been a great time. Everything you can ask for a mini vacation away from the city. The property is well maintained. The new owners are very welcoming and cater to all your needs and questions. The cottage itself is clean and very spacious. The lake is the best part of the vacation. Best sunset. Best fishing (tons of different fish species in the area). Boating is awesome. The little town 5 minutes away has amazing pizza. All in all a great spot to spend your time with your family or just a time out of the city. Thank you Rachel and Luc and will see you again in a few weeks

Beautiful location. Private beach and dock. Enjoyed kayaking and paddle boats. Fire pit for evenings. Spent tons of time on the huge deck including eating most of our meals on the deck. Cottage is large with two living spaces and two full baths allowing space for everyone. Rachel and Luc were lovely hosts.

Great property! We loved it and so did our pup! Rachel, the owner, is a masseuse, and a great one at that. She came to us too. Thanks for a great stay!

My family and I (8 of us total + our doggo) spent a week here in mid-August. Above all else, Rachel and Luc were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and answered all of our questions really quickly. We mentioned a toddler was with us and they had a high chair ready - we asked if we could have a few life jackets and there was one for each adult. Could not have asked for more. This is the perfect spot for a family getaway - the space is really large and with dual entrances/dual living spaces/dual fridges, it allows you time away from the bigger group should you need it. The views were amazing being right on the water, boat and equipment rentals were less than 150m away at Port Carmen marina, grocery store/LCBO/other conveniences were < 5 mins away as well. Couldn't be a more ideal location. The beach area was great for the kids, and the paddle board, kayak, and canoes gave a lot of variety for individual or group activities out on those hot days! My only recommendation to anyone visiting: please ensure to bring your own linens and towels (this should be a given with COVID, especially). A bonus is that Rachel is a certified & highly skilled Massage Therapist who provides a variety of services if desired right on site, all of which you can claim though your insurance! I had the deep tissue massage and it was one of the BEST massages I have ever had by far. I literally fell asleep and felt so much better ️

Hosts are very friendly and nice. It is a great place for vacation. They have boats, BBQ station，bonfire, and darts. Inside is nice too. Definitely go back next summer.

Stayed at this cottage for a weekend with my family. Had a wonderful time - especially enjoyed amenities inside and the private shoreline. Highly recommend this place to any cottage goers. Lake Cecebe is beautiful!

The cottage we stayed in sustained some damage from high water earlier in the year leaving the whole thing sloped towards the lake a little bit. This wasn't really an issue except for when it came to sleeping. We kept rolling toward the edge of the bed.
The property was quite nice/ well taken care of. And the owners were lovely. They gave us some of this delicious apple cake that they made, they had a great little playground and a very friendly dog!

We stayed at the Fox Den cottage over the Canada day long weekend. While the lake and grounds were nice we had some problems with the cottage.
The cottages or at least Fox Den needs some serious love. The floors are terrible, the decks have exposed nails and need repair, the bedrooms are very musty and need organization, the whole cottage needs dusting, and cobweb removal, there are ant traps within reach of small children, but all of that is better than the “shower”. The shower is terrifying. It is like a 4 square foot, rusty closet with a piece of wall panelling as a roof. You can see into the next bedroom from the shower. We didn’t use it our entire 3 night stay, we instead, swam as much as possible.
Carpenter ants were easily found in our cottage, despite the ant traps.
The rooms had double sized squeaky beds covered in old, musty comforters. They each had 70’s light fixtures, with wall paper borders that didn’t even complete the length of the room. There was very, very old ineffective, dusty potpourri in each room, and an assortment of vhs tapes and children’s books thrown together on a shelf in one bedroom, also covered in dust.
I totally understand this is a cottage and they’re not meant to be hotel rooms however, I have lived on a cottage resort for approximately 5 years and had multiple jobs cleaning them. This cottage seemed uncared for. The panelled walls were even painted 3 different colours, avoiding the places they couldn’t reach with the brush or the roller.
The resort is up for sale, which may be why everything seems to be in poor state. This includes the children’s playground where the bucket swing literally touches the ground and the whole set is rusting. The toys in the “sand” pit (which is more of a dirt pit) are all broken, sun faded, and missing pieces.

The lake equipment such as the paddle boats and canoe seem to be in good condition however, we couldn’t find one toddler sized life jacket and had to go into Magnetawan Bait and Tackle to buy one.

I don’t like leaving such a miserable review since the owners are very sweet and they have a loving, beautiful young pup named Cody who was always eager to greet us.

If it weren’t for the state of the cottage and playground I would have given them a 5 star rating.
I should mention, the grounds are clean and well taken care of, and the lake is great for swimming.
