Be careful a woman receptionist called Jeanne-Benne M.
She always make mistakes, she is very rude and lazy too. If you have any questions, she will ask you to send email to the leasing office or make a complaint to the leasing office manager on the ground floor.

Unfortunately. This is one of those things that is ruined once you find out how it works. I lived here as a student my first year of college and absolutely loved the experience - the environment - and the lifelong friends that I made **This is MY experience, and cannot guarantee that it will be the same for you. As I know, of many who have had different encounters**. However, WORKING here during my second year, under a management that overworks its RA’s and still expects them to perform was ridiculous! Sometimes in a week, you can work from 50-70 hours (the highest I’ve worked was, I think, 54, but I knew of one of my colleagues working like, 72). And what are they gonna do - not pay you? We shouldn’t have been working those hours but we did it. And more often than you would think. They even go as far as scheduling front desk shifts WHILE you’re in class. What was the point of them requesting our schedules, and us giving it to them, if they were just gonna do their own thing and tell you it’s up to you to switch the shifts. “Student first” does NOT apply when they want to keep up their corporate appearance.
Not to mention the GM, being involved with an RA…
I mean seriously. Nobody would’ve cared if that’s what he wanted to do and was able to manage his personal and professional life. But unfortunately, he lacked the understanding of that line between, and it caused a lot of unnecessary drama and tension that could have just been avoided. The management definitely needs to be reevaluated because CLEARLY their system of managing student workers isn’t working. I don’t know how you go from 14 RA’s in September to 3 by end of May… with none of us returning for Fall 2023.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: it’d be better to get a job at the mall (STC) that’s 10-15 minutes away by bus than work here. At least you’ll get reasonable part time hours that are actually KEPT and a bus depot on the property that will pick you up and drop you off safely. AND, most importantly, you’ll get to focus on being a student and enjoy those wonderful college experiences that you shouldn’t be missing out on.

Nice place, nice gym, cool to live if you’re a first year, the new RA’s like Haira are nice too

I really like the place when I came here first, definitely recommend it if you are new here and wanna make more friends, also the staff is friendly especially Jamilla at the front desk

I have moved around a lot but moving back to canada and deciding to live here is my biggest mistake.there are so many flaws. First 2 of 9 months were okay but the rest of the 7 months were uncomfortable and painful. They make the place seem a lottt nicer in the pictures then it really is. It was dirty and the smoke detectors were broke in 2 rooms. The constantly false fire alarms either super early in the morning or late. The staff plays favourites on residents and some make you feel bad about yourself, however there are many very nice staff members. They also do not do anything about residents litterly STEALING from you.and you have to pay 250$ for a room switch so you just have to suffer in an uncomfortable environment because the leasing agreement is a trap where if you want to move out early, they don't give back the 500$ security deposit. The AC/Heat system is also very unstable and broke down a lot.anyways spend the same or less money on a much better place then here.

DON'T LIVE HERE!
Why not? I can explain.

1. It's too expensive. The price of rent is too high for this neighborhood and living conditions.
2. Dirty roommates. No point in complaining about them, staff don't do anything.
3. Dirty unit when you move in.
3. They don't answer your emails at all.
4. Constantly false fire alarms.
5. Inoperative heating and cooling system. 30 degrees is the normal temperature in April.
6. Noisy.
7. Stupid room layout.

I would add more, but that should be enough to keep you from living here!

Unfortunately I wasnt able to secure a spot to live at centennial residence; however, I paid for the deposit which i was promised would be refunded to me. I have waited months for a refund with no luck, now Centennial Residence has gone completely unresponsive and I fear I just lost the money I paid to an institution that doesn’t care about helping me get the money that is rightfully owed to me. As an international student this is incredibly harmful to me and my finances, and I hope I will be able to bounce back from it somehow. This is my first ever negative review in any place ever, i prefer not saying anything rather than saying something negative, I just feel like its a well deserved review from an incredibly concerned student. Dont make the same mistake i made, make sure a spot is available before spending your money on applications or deposits, it will be incredibly hard to get back once you spend it.

It's nice in photos, but thats it. Their system is out of place too. Everything takes time and there is lack of coordination. I was asked to wait while I moved out because there was too many people checking out, but after I checked out, the residence deducted a 100 $ saying I was late! And it's been 2 months and I've still not got back my deducted deposit amount! Not impressed.

The staff is great but the manager is not. Rooms are very expensive and there is not a lot of space and bad acoustics.also there was construction going on from 6am so you wake up from the noise and no compensation in rent for living next to a construction site.
19 October 2022 2:17
Great place to live, because the staff creates memorable experiences. I've had support and resources during my whole stay here and it is important to have a community environment that is there for you. I like the 24/7 Front Desk services, as well all the amenities are open all day.
08 September 2022 16:00
Waaaaay too overpriced. Rooms are quite small. Walls are paper thin so you cannot enjoy some quite, even if your roommates weren't shouting or anything. You have to pay for laundry. Gates are unnecessary and very annoying.

On the positive side though, staff were very friendly and helpful. Printing was pretty much free. I would usually find paper in the copying machine.

The only thing I want to tell u - you can find a good place instead of here. Otherwise, when I came here, disgusting kitchen and dropping oil from range hood! This is the most horrible place I lived before. You can smell mariguana and horrible music in the evening. By honestly, the most of employees are not friendly as well. They have many of ridiculous rules - for example the house cleaner will ask you take the garbage out of garbage bin. Is this should be your duty ok? If you have budget of 1100 dollars, you can find a fantastic place to live.
24 June 2022 1:57
This place seems nice at first. The rooms are good, but the rules they impose are ridiculous. They say no guest policy, however they check selectively, so certain individuals can bring guests. Seems like they have a certain resentment that they cannot bring guests themselves so they take it out on you. Moreover, amongst themselves they do not share information about residents. I had an agreement with one person about the move out date, but others didn’t not have this information so they kept bugging me about moving out during my exam. Also, the booking system for common rooms is terrible. You can book the room and then it turns out someone else booked it and it is occupied, so you can’t enjoy your time in common rooms. In addition, when I first moved in, I had bugs everywhere in my room so that should tell you something about how they clean (even during covid times). My friend had a problem with a thermostat, the temperatures in her room were 16 degrees and while she reported it, they never fixed it so she had to sleep in her coat for a week. Overall, If you want to have a feeling like you live in prison or a kindergarten, then you should definitely apply for the residence there.

Centennial Place is the best place to live if you are new to Canada. This is my first year in Canada and unbelievably I feel at home. The location in Scarborough makes it appear to be an expensive place, but I believe it's worth it. My English got much better, I almost never felt lonely, I had fun, made many friends, and I learned a lot. The amenities of the building are also good. I do like this place.
11 June 2022 21:54
All I can say is that we have bed bugs and nothing useful is being done about it. Oh, and you cant terminate your lease for any reason so if you have no where else to go, I guess you're sleeping with bed bugs. This is just one thing out of a long list of issues I have with the Centennial College Residence (The rest of the negative reviews basically sum it all up). This place is high key a public health violation.
09 May 2022 16:24
I’ve lived at Centennial place for a year, the staff are great (my RA Eric Charbonneau is the best), building is really clean, maintenance orders are resolved quickly and efficiently. Centennial Place has great programs witch are always fun and a great way to make connections. The energy is always positive and the RAs do a great job of bringing the community together. As an international student, they have everything that I need, the leasing process was easy and they offer virtual tours of the building and units.
07 May 2022 16:42
Tooo expensive. When you look online it seems like a paradise (especially if you're an international student and cannot visit it in person), then you discover that for the same price you can easily find better places with working facilities and better furnitures. Very, very dusty, you have to sweep the floor like everyday to keep it clean (at a certain point you'll loose the patience), you have to pay for the laundry for some very dirty machines that just move your clothes with some water and maybe remove a liiiiitle stain but no more, no windows in the living room, kitchen falling apart, and so on. And if for any reason you take the stairs and your key stops working (once every month) there is noone to call or no way to exit. You will stay there for hours. The fact is that once you start the contract, you cannot escape until it is finished. Look for a house at lower price.
19 April 2022 18:41
I liked living in the residence because I had to find a chance to meet with people and also it was really close to the college. I liked the amenities and common areas.
18 April 2022 19:19
Here is so amazing. I can have chance to eat different kinds of food in the world. In addition, you can have nice residence assistant to give your suggestions. Most importantly, you can have study room to study. What a perfect place it is! (Joey)

The Centennial Residence offers two bedroom and four bedroom suites which are furnished perfectly for a student. The on campus complex offers various amenities such as theatre rooms, study rooms, arcade rooms, a gym, and a mini supermarket. There are also many events happening every week which range from fitness activities to help with your LinkedIn profile. Each floor has Residence Assistants that can help you out with most things. My floor’s RA Adarsh has been super friendly, approachable and has helped me swiftly with everything! The residence also has a bus stop which is just 200m from the main lobby. The closest shopping complex would be Scarborough Town Centre which is a 10 minute bus ride away.

It is with great sadness that I am leaving centennial place after 4 exceptional years. I've had the pleasure of being a student here and working here for the entire duration of my studies at Centennial College. This has become my home. Centennial Place has everything I need and much much more. From the absolutely best housekeeping Staff (Barbara M. I love you) who care for this place as if if was their own. The building is kept clean and tidy. Maintenance has always been very efficient in solving any work orders same day. The are quick, excellent at what they do and beyond. The amenity spaces are the best. My favourite has always been the gym and the ping pong room. The theatre rooms are seriously awesome as well.

I will never forget you Matthew Fleming our Director. You are such a joy to see here everyday and too work for. You are positive, encouraging, thoughtful and really someone that I look up to in the world of Residence Life and beyond. I've come to think of you as family and a friend and thank you for believing in me. From the top down this place runs very smoothly and evolves as the right pace with new and interesting things to do and implement. The residence life programs are excellent. The staff here are exceptional and I've made friends that will last a lifetime. Centennial Place is forever my home:) and I will miss this place and all the people inside of it. Thank you thank you and thank you

The dormitory environment is good. There are many good public spaces. RA Hailun is very friendly. Residence events are pretty fun.
23 March 2022 3:34
Even though the facility has everything, TV/game rooms, study rooms, etc it is all close due to "Covid restriccions" while the residents keep paying the same amount of rent (which is not cheap by the way) that includes everything. Management always request feedback from residents but they never do anything to solve the problems.
21 March 2022 7:26
The 3 stars is for the price and amenities because other than those everything else was a meh, especially the staffs.
The work oder and maintenance staffs are actually nice, but I am not sure about the residence life staffs and the admins.
Story 1: I applied for a new lease in summer and they gave me an automatic response of how I am an UTSC student and there are no space available.
Story 2: I had a few issues with two of my roommates, at one point I told the RA about it. And after ONE WHOLE MONTH they decided to threaten us for a meeting when by that point we largely resolved most of the problems we had.
Story 3: there are a lot of leftover food and even alcohol from the last tenants in summer that was not cleaned out of the suite.
However the amenities and rooms are actually nice. You get a furnished + big private bedroom and a full kitchen + shared bathroom that actually has a decent sink and mirror. Lots of storage space in the rooms and kitchen. For this prince I am satisfied.
Also the location is fairly convenient if you are students, got a big bus terminal right next to the building with GO bus stop+ ttc.

This place is horrible, I moved out recently and I can say that was the best decision I have ever made. The front desk is always empty especially during the evening after working i get back from school. Plus they are never able to answer the questions i have and asking me to come back the next day during business hours. The staff are rude, i had a bad experience with one of the RA's, i think her name is betina, she shouted at me when i raised multiple concerns about my roommate being dirty. She told me there is nothing she could do and when I asked for a room change she said that's not possible and that i should like with it. They charge you for everything especially when you get locked out. I had my key inside and the front desk lady said i should pay before someone could open the door for me.

The manager, Matthew was rude when i also brought up the question about transferring rooms. He asked me to pay $250 in toher for me to change my room. Plus everytime i ask if someone is in the office, the person at the reception area says they are not available. This was my first time in Canada and my first time away from home and i have to say it was terrible.

They are only nice when they want to sign another lease. I am grateful for leaving the place because it was terrible.

DO NOT LIVE HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT
25 September 2019 14:50
Loud all the time. Nobody cared about the quiet hours at all. I urge anyone to try and find a different place to live. If you need to room here for school, PLEASE try find somewhere else, or room with people you KNOW will be quiet when you need them to be.

The monthly cost of the rooms is actually insane for the quality of living. The majority of residents living in this place will be constantly partying with no regard to anyone else, I have only seen security once at night, there are no real patrols from what I have seen, they just wait for a complaint and respond like that.
14 September 2019 1:25
In July 2018, I signed a leasing agreement. I was stuck with this leasing with a addicted, smoker and messy guys. I couldn't resign this leasing and leave in other apartment because this agreement only benefit to Centennial. I had to find other person or leave Canada. I leaved Canada. Be careful with Centenial's leasing agreement.
02 September 2019 15:04
Going into my second year of living at Centennial Place and honestly can't wait. The place is beautiful and has everything you could really need. The Management is especially friendly and so are all of the RLS staff. The place is very nice especially for those at Progress campus. If you are a Centennial student even if you are close to home I would recommend staying at Centennial place for at least your first year.
13 August 2019 14:18
Instead of increasing the rent fees, they should improve their services. At least check up the hygiene inside every suite monthly. The fridges should be checked every time any student move out.
07 August 2019 9:28
We slept two nights at Centennial Place Residence and it was a bad experience. Even if it was a nice studio with kitchen appliances, the experience was bad. The air conditionner can’t be close, so it was cold all night long. The blanket bed was so thin that we thought it was a joke. The bed is not confortable. We got sick even if we put a jogging pant and sweater to sleep. They should not rent to visitor like this, people are on vacations, they don’t have extra blankets. If they want to rent because they have empty students rooms, they should offer basic
services. I have a much better service in a cheap motel. I don’t write comments but I paid for a bad service and people must know.

I put two stars because the breakfast and dinner is good at the Local restaurant.
01 June 2019 17:28
Smoking cigarettes, burning pot are common activities in some of the room. The residents I was set up with are messy, territorial and hungry for power. There is the thermostat setting not allowed to be set by the residents. Either I froze or boiled in the apartment. Complain and you will be harassed.

Not to forget the lost packages mysteriously reappearing months, weeks, days or hours after requesting for them. Returned nails is also current. The laundry room has washers that can be tampered with while in use. The dryers can be stopped while in use. Be ready to spend two hours at the laundry room if you want clean clothes.

Do not bring valuables with you because I have documents that are missing. If you get the chance find your own roommate. If only incompatible roommate in the same room was the issue. The issue covers the floor and neighbors.

Recently I woke up with a missing tooth. Should I add another point about this residence? I suspect there is human organ trafficking. The tooth that was stolen could be just to test for potential matches.

How about your roommate having guests over? The smell of action fill the room while visitors are there. Let just hope they know who invited them over for sex.

That is right! Sex trafficking can be added to the list of what is going on in this residence. A recap: sex trafficking, identity theft, drug dealing, maybe if you choose to stay you might find more going on.

It is like drug dealers have been running the place or are trying to make a move for the management.
