This library is horrible! Me and mu friends came here to chill and hangout and have a decent study session. The staff wad SO RUDE TO US! HE FOLLOWED MY TWO FEMALE FRIENDS TO THE BATHROOM! He then proceeded tell us to chill and hang out with him which caught us off guard. We politely declined but he DID NOT like our answer and proceeded to KICK US OUT! Totally unacceptable behavior NOT coming back EVER AGAIN!

Worst library.security guard is up in peoples business. Can’t even talk in the bathroom! He comes and tells us that it isn’t “meeting time”. WHAT does that even mean? Please ask him to go bother another library and bother another group of innocent children.

I love there,
Thank City of Richmond Hill and Ontario Government to provide such a wonderful place

This library is big with lots of spaces for people to sit and work. There are a number of meeting rooms, which is why I was there. I was doing a week long training. I noticed there was a little cafe in the library, but I wasn't able to try it out.

I recently rented a meeting room here, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, making everything run smoothly. The meeting room itself was well-equipped and clean, perfect for a productive meeting. Booking was easy, and I highly recommend this place for meetings or events. Thank you for a great experience!

What a nice public library. Comfortable environment, sort of crowed but very quiet. Good place for preparing text.
26 May 2023 23:34
The library itself is nice, however there are way too many people and can be quite loud
The cafe drinks aren’t safe at all to drink, if you’re ordering hot tea / hot coffee becareful with their cup when I took a sip of their hot tea, the inner side leaked and spilled hot tea over my hand and body, the staff just responded with an “oh, I’ll just give you another cup then” not sure if I’ll recommend this place to anyone

Amazing to see the immaturity of teens and 20’s in the library talking loudly, laughing etc. Obvious we have declining Emotional Intelligence in the population. Library staff does little about it unfortunately. Elevators scratched up with graffiti.
04 May 2023 19:17
A quiet and well maintained public library which offers amenities like free wifi.
I would have liked it more if it had a better equipped cafe, also some cubicles and more private areas would have been a good supplement to the general area.
All in all, Recommend!

The atmosphere of the library is great.i'm able to study and do my work peacefully without any distractions, and it helps me focus a lot! During the weekends, it's best to arrive earlier if you're looking for a nice seat somewhere because it gets busy.

This is one of the best Library that I have visited. A very spacious, user friendly, clean and classy library. A good location at the Downtown Richmond Hill area. There is a nice garden around the Library and also a beautiful place to pay tribute to the RH Mayor. Nice seating area inside and outside the building. Lots of parking spaces and also has underground parking. A highly recommended place to enjoy yourself.

What kind of stupid library has a full choir practice downstairs. All you can hear is choir singing throughout the whole library. At least do it in a soundproof room or something.

I used the library as a study space one year while preparing for CPA exams. The study space on the 3rd floor is large and bright with windows facing south (I.e lots of natural light).
28 July 2022 13:48
I love this library, it have this coziness that only an old library's have. The feeling of out of time. High ceiling, spacious. Nice little cafe on first floor, there the video collection is.
They have a big zone for kids, many games for small ones and tons of books. Each kid can find something to do.
14 July 2022 8:32
A fantastically large library with helpful staff, a selection of current video games to borrow weekly as well! Wonderful grounds surrounding the library too with a great view down Yonge Street from the hill. Also have manga and graphic novels.

This beautiful library is my favorite place in Richmond Hill. It's located close to downtown Richmond Hill with many stores and restaurants around. The library has a coffee shop in it and a large children section with a lot of books. Also, they have a pretty big archive of other languages books and you can almost find books in any language you speak!
Before pandemics they ran lots of community programs and seminars here, and I hope that these programs come back soon to there.

So excited to know that the library is now offering the 3D printing service. The staffs there are very friendly and supportive. With their help, I was able to quickly learn how to use the software and hardware, and get a few components printed for my projects.

Amazing staff.quiet spaces with lots of seating and plenty of natural sunlight. Wish it opened til later though. The coffee stand is gone due to covid but heres hoping it'll be back

Great place to go sledding in the winter! There are three hills one small, one medium and one large! They are really fun to be so it’s a great place for that.
24 March 2022 10:57
Possibly one of the nicest libraries in the GTA. The 3rd floor study area is pin-drop quiet and the staff are amazing. The kids section is huge with a great selection of series books for older kids and a nice picture book selection for younger kids. An overall great library.
22 March 2022 11:43
Good library, good study spaces.

However, there’s an older gentleman that works on the 3rd floor and feels the need to check on people every 5-10 minutes. He walks by slowly every now and then to check if people are consuming food or if they have removed their masks. It’s irritating and overbearing.
20 March 2022 15:52
It was pleasant, a librarian had the order ready and provided good customer service for curbside pickup.
05 March 2022 12:18
A huge library with lots of study space and outlets, large selection of books and other media, and friendly staff.
02 December 2021 11:24
It's been here for a long time.
They don't have many selections for grown ups but I think they have many children's books. Even in chinese, korean, french etc.
It's quiet place with nice view.

Richmond Hill library put out a sudden policy for entering the library only to fully vaccinated patrons. Aurora, however, will let everyone in their libraries regardless of vaccination status. #science

22 October 2020 5:24
Has a wide of selection of books in different languages. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the couple running the small cafe. Upstairs floor is for quiet study and main floor is for children's books and the cafe. During busier weeks, it is usually impossible to find a comfortable seat unless you come early in the morning.
24 September 2020 14:10
The library is closed on Sunday but the outside is beautiful.
It would be a tourist attraction if it were located in a major city.
Will check it out the inside on a week day.
20 September 2020 17:12
Goode service, staffs are very helpful, reasonable price for printing as well as free to access computers. Also locals can take free memberships to borrow books & DVD’s.
31 August 2020 1:27
This library is great it’s a great place for students to study kids to take out books and it’s all around a nice vibe and atmosphere.
24 April 2020 6:29
Nice library with great selection of books. Can be difficult to find spots sometimes but it’s a great place to study/ work nonetheless

30 March 2020 22:21
It is one of the places you could spend your time. A good variety of books in different languages
Also a good place to connect with the community
28 March 2020 17:40
I don’t understand what kind of library opens so LATE! 9: 30am? People study early! It should open at least at 8: 30-am. Same with the open times on weekends 12pm opening is ridiculous! On weekends it’s just open for 5 hours.
26 March 2020 4:17
One of the nicest libraries I've ever been to. I was one of the first to get a library membership when they first opened in the 90s. You can literally spend the entire day here. As a kid, I enjoyed a Saturday or Sunday visit here to read and take out new books.
15 February 2020 9:09
Nice library with multiple services. Having cafeteria as well. Offer printing and scanning documents. Staff is so helpful and kind. Having many events occasionally. Friendly community.
26 January 2020 20:13
I cannot express how much value I think this library adds to the community. I love the way this library is setup and ran. It is not just a library in the way we think. I went from going to the library to study for exams (and getting a lot of coffee from their cafe), to going there to grab movies to watch with my boyfriend (now husband), to spending Sunday mornings reading magazines, to going almost everyday during maternity leave to attend the baby and books program (it was such an amazing program!). We now bring our 19 month old daughter to browse the books and attend programs. The grounds around the library is huge and undeveloped at this point. I think it would be so wonderful if that sense of community could extend to the outside. Parks, picnic tables, a place for people to gather.maybe read a book they borrowed from the library under a big tree.

This library usually gets super busy during reading weeks and exam weeks. However, the library has plenty of seating and space to accommodate a lot of people. The small snack bar is also pretty delicious if you want to grab a quick bite. In addition, expect to see a lot of teenagers studying there.
27 November 2019 15:13
Great place for studying. Lots of seating in the large communal tables area. Plenty of group study spaces as well. Relatively quiet but there is a constant whisper.
27 October 2019 16:58
A great resource for the community and I really like the digital online abilities for educational training and audiobook downloads. Excellent facility as well. Thank you for providing such services.
24 October 2019 11:19
Excellent library and well kept. The exterior should be managed better, people smoking in front of library.
01 October 2019 17:00
Great open space, with interesting interior design when you pay attention. Staff is VERY kind!

There are some people in need who come to the library during the day (usually the same 5-10people) and I wish we had some sort of donation area at the library for these people to safely access. I would love to donate some stuff to them, without being so direct, as I do not want to offend anyone.

If management sees this, please let me know if we can set something such as a donation area up! Or even if I could drop off some items for the library to distribute.

Only con is the wifi cutting out at times, and some electric plugs don’t work.

Overall great facility!
20 September 2019 0:37
The quiet study area at this library was definitely not quiet at all! There were random high school students occupying tables and speaking loudly, while others are trying to study.
27 August 2019 13:19
We recently went to this library while in a rush to go to a meeting and needed to make a quick photo copy on our way. I expected to be given a run around about needing a card, etc.but the first librarian we encountered upon entering was very helpful and quick to find out the information we needed when she was not completely sure herself. She directed us to another librarian who stayed with us we helped us to make the copy. Although it was only a small fee, this librarian was very generous and used funds from her own card to make the copy as we did not have the exact change. We were very pleased with our experience here!
05 July 2019 13:19
It’s a quite beautiful library. It has a lot of items to be checked out.
One thing that I don’t like is that although there are a lot of study space, there isn’t many power outlets for computers.
I always have difficulty in locating a spot that has power outlets.

Richmond Green and Richvale are much smaller and have less visitors but cancan easily locate a spot that has power outlets, same for Vaughan City Centre Library.

One of the greatest things I find is how its all brought together. Opening and somewhat inviting. Sharp features are hidden by the concrete exterior. Not in front of your eyes exist the most aerodynamic key pointed ceiling brought together by the intrinsic reason behind this all.

The recent Ottawa's ugly performance in Boeing 737 max 8 issue made me to recall my experience about one month ago in this library. That was in its quiet study area on third floor. A guy, who seemed to be organizing a test for a few of test writers, very rudely asked me to give up my daughter's seat for one of his test takers. (my daughter's seat was near me and she was downstairs at that moment). I did not certainly let his test taker have my daughter's seat. When I tried to question him whether his exam activity, which obviously has a profit purpose for himself, was allowed OR NOT in this public place, especially considering his frequent chatting with his test takers in this quiet study area, this rude guy shouted to me " shut up, not your business". And when I then tried to complain to this library MANAGEMENT for this guy's rudeness, bothering people in quiet study area, and using tax payers' public resource for his own profit purpose, I was told by A MALE MANAGER of this library again that " I KNOW HIM AND IT IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS". Well, if this librarian with eyeglasses is really the manager of this library, other reviewers here probably know why the quiet study area in this library is not quiet. The management of this library does not care about legal users at all. The whole country has a serious problem of agency cost, from drama teacher to librarian. No one cares about tax payers' interest. By the way, the rude test organizer still happily occupies public resources for his own profit purpose and bothers other users in quiet study area but quiet users do not want to go back again.
