DO NOT GET INSURANCE WITH CERTAS.

I've been paying these clowns 8400 dollars a year. For 3 years. I was struck by a vehicle while at work and the claims adjustor states she "feels" my injuries are mig yet just the ocf from my chiropractor is 2200 dollars. The treatment plan just to start physio is 1746. Haven't even spoken to a massage therapist yet. They are refusing to pay for my treatment. I have severe back issues and can't get through basic life. But the adjustors apparently out rank doctors medical evidence with their God damn FEELINGS.

This is the worst insurance company you could possibly use. They are not there to help you. They are only there to take your money every month. Their advisers will all give you different answers. They tell you they are taking notes on your file when they do not.your rates will remain high. They will leave you on hold for an hour. I have been with this company for seven years and have given them a chance. Time and time again I am now done with them use at your own risk I suggest you don’t use them at all

Prices are fair, and I've experienced great customer service so far. Other companies have tried to gouge me for insurance (especially home insurance), but Certas (Desjardins) is reasonably priced, and they don't usually increase their rates much.

I am disgruntled that Canada is so fast to through away Canadianism. Certas was hard for me to understand and they billed me to much. They blamed my issues on legislation so ya I guess it is what it is but I clearly need help in the form of fair priced insurances. Certas you should be figuring why your not more bendable to the realities of the country. We need working insurance and at a fairer price as possible.

Worst insurance company ever. Do not get a policy from them.

I was involved in a not at fault accident for which I provided every single detail and information required yet my file was sent to investigation without a reason. They harassed me for 4 months asking to provide a recorded statement - which by law you are not required to provide. I even gave an alternative to provide a written statement but they completely ignored and desperately wanted me to give a recorded statement. They harassed me every single day, calling and asking for the recorded statement, even though I provided all the required documents and accident details to them already. Eventually I denied providing it since I was told by my lawyer not to and they denied my “not-at-fault” claim based on non-compliance.

This is the worst possible insurance company you can be with. Do not waste your money and time. They’ll treat you like criminals when it comes to claims.

Well, after faithfully paying for insurance for many years. I have had an accident where I had to make a claim. I have never seen a company that specializes in one thing be so incredibly inept at what they do. They totally forgot to action the car, for 3 weeks, and then only begrudgingly because at this point I am micro managing them to ensure that they actually do what they are supposed to. They didn't even know which tow yard the car was in, in spite of e-mails, which were acknowledged saying where the car was located. It is AMAZING that anyone pays this business for insurance. Horrible service!

I had my vehiche stolen from my office in Jun.police recovered the vehiche but as of today they stilldidnt make a decision of which path they wanna move.adjuster were auper confused.send me 3 dfferent verion of proof of loss, no communication with me or my lawyer at all.and I have to pay the permium every month. Stay away.never ever get an insurance from them and report them.and Report them to General insurance.

My yearly insurance bill is almost 5000 multiple vehicles and nothing this company is a joke never missed a payment etc inover 6 years and this is how the company handles their clients

Little sister was side swiped in her car 4 months ago and her advisor hasn’t even contacted her to get it repaired same insurance company btw

I wish I can't give a -10 star review. Absolute worst customer service ever. My adjuster Dwshyant Bhatt and his supervisor Deenase Sooklal are both useless. After 2 months they still can't return phone calls or send out a simple email to inform clients of the status of the claim. I have asked my broker to help in getting a phone call back with an update of what's going on, but they are not able to get anyone to call me back.

Terrible insurance company. If you ever need to talk to customer service you will be on hold for at least an hour, only to speak to someone who doesn't know anything. I cancelled my insurance with them after ten years because they charged my old credit card, it bounced back, and they never called me. They sent one email that went to my junk folder. After two months, I figured out my insurance was invalid and called them and paid the bill. The next day, they sent my account to collections! Now I have to wait on hold forever to get them to fix their mistake. They are so disorganized and unprofessional, I would never recommend this company.

This claim advisor, Abdul Khan, was an absolutely nightmare to work with. He has the worst customer service and has no idea how to communicate. I loved working with my broker, but I will no longer have my insurance with this company after my car was a no-fault total write off and had to deal with this guy. He’s new to the business and clearly isn’t cut out for it.

1 star is far to generous, they really should allow negative stars.

Their claims department is an absolute joke. Benefits you pay for come at great cost if you find yourself in need. You'll have an advisor laugh yes that what I said and meant in your face when she yells you. Good luck finding a doctor who will sign your medical. Then you'll have the same advisor bully you and constantly belittle you for requiring said benefits, you will NOT be able to ask for a new advisor, once you do then even the complainant team won't help you, they'll just add to the bullying they actually won't even look into your complaint. They literally just copy paste. If you can I would definitely recommend that you research this company before giving them your hard earned money.

No wonder certain insurance is the worst insurance company ever. They have really bad reputation. I reported a car accident claim to them, never get their response (email or call in). Don't waste your premium to them. You get nothing insurance coverage with them. They don't cover you anything under the insurance policy.

I have been with them for 5 years, no consideration for been a loyal customer, no consideration for covid times, greedy company that doesn't negotiate cancellation or won't give you any discount.
You are trapped, you cannot complain.
A lot of companies had showed that they are uncompasion during the covid crisis that we to experience but I would say this company is one of the worst. A company that would cancel your policy without calling you and then threatened to report it to credit bureau if you don't pay it with the reinstatement amount which is higher that the payment with all of the additional fees that are ridiculous to pay.

Cheap but watch out. They randomly took 330 dollars out of my account for no reason. I was completely up to date on payment but they said it was because I was using the "pay bill" function on my banking app. I got charged a NSF fee and had to fight with them to get it back. TRASH COMPANY

I had a quote from them and another agent called and advised that he will give me a better quote, so he gave me one 35$ higher than the original quote.so I asked to sign up for the firs quote but i couldnt because they deleted it. I asked why, they said they cant keep two quote. OK, I understand that, so I asked to sign up with the second quote, but the agent told me that the car year is different, he recorded the car year 2015 while my car is 2013. I told him that this is wrong and why I will say my car is 2015 while it is older, he said he recorded what I told him, I told him I said the year is 2013, he said no. I asked for call recording to be reviewed and he said they dont record the calls (what kind of an insurance company!)
I asked for a manager and the manager said they cant help me

The worst auto insurance experience of my life. Let's see. Majority of the workers there have no idea what they're talking about. To park my car under fire and theft still costs an arm and a leg. My insurance premium went up after renewal and they didn't even bother communicating that with me and when I asked to cancel the guy said "May I ask why? " As if spending nearly 400 bucks a month on insurance is normal with no speeding tickets or accidents on my driving record. Oh yeah.and when my insurance coverage ended with them and they still charged me. I will never recommend them to anyone. Avoid at all costs!

I was with statefarm before they changed to Certas, i had I mix up on one of my bill back in 2016 and my agent at the time fixed but now almost 4 years later after the fact they are telling me I owe the payment and wont let me put insurance on my new vehicle with out paying or find my receipt, and prove otherwise even though there is a note on my file. I wont be doing business with them anymore I am switching to a new company I am done with my rate increasing every year.

So been with the company for 16 years never had an accident or even gotten a ticket. Some driver rear ends me and my claim adjuster JENNIFER as well as the supervisor LEANNE, blame me for the accident. When asked for proof of how it is my fault they failed to provide me with proof and kept changing their reasoning as to how they were determining fault. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Had a to jump on a call for the renewal discrepancy. I have already moved to other agent but Certas Direct Insurance Company charged me for another year, though I have mentioned them not to renew it a month before. But the way lady on the phone (Fasihah - If I spelled it correctly) dealt with my request was simply amazing and so professional.

Auto-renew shouldn't have happened in the first place, but again (human error) was resolved quickly and efficiently! Therefore 5 stars specially for Fasihah

If i could give them a zero i would. My sister recently got into an accident and well forget covering or helping her they blamed the whole accident on her. She took 100% off the blame even though she got rear ended. Her claims adjusters Jennifer and supervisor Leanne were no help. Dont trust this insurance company GO WITH ANOTHER ONE! GARBAGE!

There should be possibility to give 0 star. As long as you are ok to pay their premiums you are fine but if there is a claim they will do anything to take advantage of you. No loyalty to customers who are with them for over 20 years with clean record I feel betrayed by them. I am actually in shock that insurance company can treat their customers like that. I was given non acceptable options and legal way if I don't agree with those options. In a sense OUR WAY OR HIGHWAY was their filosophy in my case. The money they offered me for a new car wouldn't even cover any car closed to mine. They lost 3 good customers with cars and 2 houses because of their way of dealing with people but it looks like they don't care anyway. It cost me lots of stress to deal with them as it seems have no compassion or ethics to work in good faith. STAY AWAY OR PRAY YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEIR CLAIMS DEPARTMENT.

It took 9 months for them to pay me way less than amount I spent, also lost my tenant because i had no money to fix so they couldn't live.and I lost months of rent & at same time I was paying my mortgage, 9 MONTHS to pay $16k, THIS COMPANY SUCK, THEY ARE LEACHES.

I have been with State Farm Insurance and Desjardins bought the company few years. I have more than 15 years of accident Free record. My policy price (AUTO and HOME) got increased by 50%. DO NOT BUY THEIR policy or expect it to increased by 50% with NO accident and claims.

My 2020 Auto Insurance went up by $205.00 for absolutely no reason at all. When requested for a reason as to why the increase, did not get a response. Very unprofessional. Insurance companies in general are pathetic but this one takes it to a whole new level! Do not even think of giving these people your hard earned money.

Dealing with their claims department was so satisfying! I was a bit worried knowing this accident happen in Chicago, IL. I dealt with Darlene Dusome, she paid extra attention to my claim. Such a smooth process. I deal with insurance companies on a daily working in the same field, and this company has been so professional, handle the claim in a timely manner! I am beyond satisfied with the claim process. Thanks!

Horrible prices kept doubling ever year than i had a accident that wasn't my fault then they let me go saying the contract they had with Scotia financial ain't being renewed (No wonder why with all these horrible ratings n incidents) so I had to find new quote n they put it was at fault accident now I cant find insurance cause my rates are now outrageous i have no prior accidents they through me to the dogs n left me without insurance n put a at fault mark on my record n cant get ahold of anyone to correct this worst company ever!

The worst, most frustrating company to deal with! Gives wrong information and will literally do anything to avoid paying the victim a cent. Experts at passing the buck and literally have deductibles for everything. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Would give them zero stars if I could. Awful service.increased my premium by an extra $40 per month with no notification, either by mail, phone call or text. Called to cancel my insurance policy and was told it would be over $500 to do so. Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone for any reason. Stay away.

Some homeless guy intentionally scratched my car door and broke my windshield. The estimator of certas came and assessed those two damages LOOKS TO BE unrelated so I had to file two claims and pay the deductible twice. Asked me to prove it was one homeless dude that did all this. Can't do business with a company that sides with the homeless can I?

Not sure what happened to other reviewers. My experience with this insurance company is fine so far. I have used several insurance includes state farm, american family, geico, progressive and also certas. So far, I feel the service provided by certas is just the same as others. Nothing significantly bad. I used to have an accident and finally my car was fixed well.

Update: WOW, if it's possible they've screwed me again. I called, they said they're sending me a cheque in my name. The cheque came and it was not in my name, it was in my father's name. I called again, they said they COULDN'T make a cheque in my name so I said, "Ok I'll just give this cheque to my father, no problem. " Then they said they'd have to send me another cheque because they cancelled the one I had in my hand. 3 weeks went by and I didn't receive the second cheque. I called, they said it's on the way. A week later and still nothing. I called back, they said the cheque I originally got is still valid and I should get my dad to cash it. Why was I told the cheque could be in my name? Why was I told the cheque has been cancelled? Why was I told a second, non existent cheque was on the way? This place is the WORST RUN BUSINESS I have ever encountered in my 30 years. And forget getting a call back when they say they'll call back - forget even getting an email back and get used to automated messages. Stay far away from them and save yourself time, money and effort.

I can't even begin to adequately express how unprofessional this company is. Waiting weeks for call backs, wrong names on the cheques, cancelling cheques that didn't require cancelling. If you want to see how NOT to run a business, this is the place to go. Calling their customer service makes your situation WORSE so it's best not to.

I’m older, my vehicle is older, no accidents, no claims and no tickets yet my rate kept increasing. Called to inquire and was told that people in my area had put in claims for flood. Why should I pay for that? Isn’t that the reason for paying insurance? The government really needs to do something about these insurance companies. They offer reasonable price if you are new but they will skyrocket it every year after even without you making a claim. I have cancelled. Found cheaper insurance.
