Another 5-star review here! Our 12 year old boy is super passionate about food and cooking and we honestly could not be happier or more impressed with these classes. Georges is awesome and couldn't be funnier/friendlier for a French chef, haha! ;-) This school is really a gem and we are so thankful to have the opportunity to send our son here!

We had a team event last night. George & his team did a terrific job - we felt welcomed & had such an enjoyable time as a team.

This was a fun & innovative way to both learn more about cooking and understand the principles of working collaboratively in a completely different setting.

I booked the class on making pasta for my sister and I. It was a birthday present for her. The evening was one of the most enjoyable times we have shared. The chef and owner, Georges was so entertaining and patient while instructing us. His passion for food and teaching was very evident. He not only was teaching us how to make pasta but to think beyond the recipes and imagine where we could take them. He encouraged us not to just rely on recipes but use the techniques he taught us and use our imagination to create new and inventive dishes. On our way home from the class my sister said it was one of the best birthday presents ever.

We had such a wonderful time celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary together at C'est Bon! They made us feel incredibly welcomed and we truly enjoyed ourselves for the entire evening. The instructor was personable and filled with worldly knowledge that made our experience magnificent. AND THE FOOD! Wow. Well done C'est Bon, we'll see you again soon!

I recently signed up for the Master the Basics: Basic Breads that was held on August 15th, 2023 in-person, and I must say, that I am really glad I did. The course surpassed my expectations. This was my first time making any type of bread and I thought I would fail, however, I succeed and all three of my breads came out perfectly.

George, who is the owner and chef of C'est Bon was our instructor. He was welcoming, thorough and had good sense of humor. He provided us tips and tricks on how to continue our bread making at home.

The recipes that were provided are easy to follow and the skills we were taught are transferable to our home baking-life.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the course and I am already looking into more classes that C'est Bon has to offer.

My daughter did the cooking and pastry making summer camp and enjoyed it. The recipes are challenging and the instruction is excellent. Your child will gain confidence in the kitchen and bring home meals and desserts they can take pride in!

I just took a knife skills class at C'est Bon and loved it! I learned a lot and it was a lot of fun. This is the second time I've attended a class at C'est Bon and I will definitely be back!

Each course as impressive as the last! A range of techniques are practiced in each one-night session. Mastering the Basics: Cakes did not disappoint, yielding a fantastic Chocolate Almond Marquise Cake. Knife Skills: Chicken was amazing. Chefs are helpful, generous with their extensive knowledge. Professional learning environment. Highly recommend. Last class (for me) tonight - mmmm, chocolate! Wonderful experience, two thumbs, way, way up! Can't wait to book more classes in future!

Absolutely amazing experience! My partner and I took the couples cooking class yesterday and we cannot say enough good things about it. Georges was friendly and very knowledgeable, taking us through techniques and instruction. I especially appreciated the accommodation for my celiac disease (gluten free diet). Will definitely be going back soon!

What a great afternoon my husband and I had on the Taste of the ByWard Market food tour! Every stop was absolutely delicious. There was so much food on the tour that I took my final tasting home with me. Stefanie was a wonderful guide - friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She has great relationships with all of the tasting stop owners and we really felt warmly welcomed by all of them. I’ve visited Ottawa many times but learned and saw lots in the market area that I had no idea about. Thank you Stefanie for such a great tour!

This tour was an awesome experience! Richard was an excellent guide! Not only did we discover some new eats in the Market, but Richard made the tour very interesting with historic and product information on the different restaurants. We also enjoyed getting to know this new Canadian resident and shower him with Canadian kindness.

Our daughters have taken many classes at C’est Bon over the last few years (during their tween/teen years) and they’ve loved every minute! I love these classes/camps for them because they actually learn skills (knife skills, etc.) and proper cooking techniques. They come home with risotto, merengue, pho, you name it! I was specifically looking for a class that would offer more than the standard: “make your own pizza using a microwave” and we definitely found it with C’est Bon. Highly highly recommend! Oh and the girls get a kick out of Chef George’s jokes too:)

We had Greg as our tour guide for the Byward Market tour. He was amazing! Provided great facts about the city and the food we were eating while keeping it fun and enjoyable. The food was amazing and we left very very full. I highly recommend people do this tour. A fun way to spend an afternoon with friends and new friends!

We did the Lower Byward market tour. Flavia, our guide, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The food stops were all excellent and our little group really enjoyed ourselves. A great experience if you want to learn more about the Byward market area and do something a little different. Go hungry and don't bother booking dinner out.you will be full!

A great team building event! My work team and I came here to do something a little different than the usual - and we were glad we did!

Georges and Stefanie were so helpful in getting our event planned. From the menu selection (and changes) to the communication of what to expect the day of - nothing was left unanswered.

We arrived and were greeted by Georges who is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable chef. His “tutorial” was so informative and also very entertaining. He was a joy to listen to! The format of the class is that you cook what he does and at the end of each course you get to sit and enjoy it. No cleaning necessary - it’s all taken care of!

Our menu consisted of a lobster bisque and lobster patty. Then we had an orange cranberry glazed chicken breast on ratatouille followed by a maple crème brûlée for dessert.

If you’re looking for an activity to do with your team that differs from the usual, check it out! You will have a great time!

I had so much fun. I know I can learn to bake bread from youTube but it was wonderful having my questions answered and to know what to expect. This was my second class and it definitely won't be my last.

Recently enjoyed the virtual ravioli class. Learned this technique for adding basil into the pasta sheets, loved that. We then stuffed with spinach & ricotta and served with a basil butter sauce. Ingredients were delivered, class easy to follow along, informative and fun and finished dish was delicious.

We took a couple in-person cooking class with George. Everything was sanitized and there were plexiglass glass boards separating each station. We felt very safe and comfortable. George was amazing! Despite being two active cooks in our house, we learned so much and had a great evening. All the food was delicious and we got to try a lot of great local products that we have never heard about. Would recommend to anyone. We will be coming back for their pie/tart and stock classes.

I bought this as a birthday gift to my wife. Chef George was excellent! He shared his recipe with us along with tons of little tips and tricks used by chefs all over the world. Even if the even was live, it felt like George was right here with us cooking the meal. A+

My birthday gift was a virtual cooking class with my husband. It was good fun! We learned how to debone a Cornish hen, mad a great wild rice stuffing and learned some new skills on top of that. I didn't say good value because I don't know how much it cost since it was a birthday gift. Dessert and salad were provided for us as well. All of our ingredients were brought safely to our door. Thanks again!

We just finished our couples cooking class, it was a gift to us from my sister-in-law for Christmas. And all I can say is, WOW!

Chef Georges Laurier was amazing! He really took the time to get to know us, and was there all steps of the way to demo and help us cook our own meals. He also gave us insightful tips to help improve our own cooking at home, and great cooking tips in general. I really loved the hands-on experience and the social aspect of the class. This place is also very clean and has proper COVID-19 protocol, so you can have fun cooking and eating- while at a safe distance.

We even made some of the Vanilla Panna Cotta to take home, but my silly hubby forgot to take it with us!: (However, they fortunately did send us home with the recipes from the night- we will be making this again for sure.

Our organization recently held an online event with C'est Bon for Valentine's weekend and what a first class experience. They really worked with us to tailor the event to our needs and Stefanie provided excellent communications. The ingredients were all sustainably packaged, recipe delicious, interaction with Chef George was fantastic, video feeds were well managed, and most importantly everyone who attended loved the event. Thanks again guys!

Bought 2 tickets to Sauce and Sauces hosted by George. I went with my partner and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Even though my partner's been cooking for a couple of years, we both walked away learning something. Great facilities! We will most likely be doing another class soon.

Georges is an excellent teacher, who can help you both in French and English. If you are looking to improve your knife skills, C'Est Bon Cooking is the way to go. It really brought my knife cutting game to another level.

We participated in the cooking for couples class and it was awesome. Chef George is as knowledgeable as he is entertaining and charming as he leads he class. The ingredients sources for the class were fantastic and the way we were instructed to bring them together into such a great taste experience was fun and informative.
I was uncertain going in about how the clas would unfold during the pandemic but they did their homework and the set up was very reassuring with lots of distance between the 4 couples and a very effective lattice of plexiglass that separates the participants but still left great lines of sight for the demonstrations.
If you love to make and eat great food, want to learn something new while having fun then c'est bon should be the next experience you try!

Me and my fiancé attended a couple cooking class this evening, it was one of the most enjoyable nights we’ve had out in this city. Chef Georges is an amazing chef who guides you throughout the process and allows you to unleash the cook within you. A huge confidence builder for beginner cooks, amazing experience I look forward to returning for the class on knife skills as well as sauces. 5 STARS!

My boyfriend and I attended a couple’s class yesterday and had an incredible time! It was our first time attending a cooking class and it exceeded our expectations by far. Chef Georges was an incredible teacher (also very funny) and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back and I will be recommending C’est Bon to all my family and friends. We originally booked an in-person experience with C'est Bon which was changed to a virtual class due to COVID. We were extremely impressed with how flawlessly George and Stephanie were able to adapt and execute everything virtually. All the ingredients and equipment were dropped off the day of the class and picked up a few days following, allowing us to use some of the equipment for our own recipes! George was an absolute pleasure to learn from and Stephanie did an amazing job of keeping the virtual class running smoothly. I would highly recommend C'est Bon cooking for anyone looking for a fun virtual cooking class during COVID. We look forward to attending some in-person classes in the future!

Cooked risotto with C'est Bon during one of their virtual classes and it was delicious! The class was excellent and Chef Georges is very well-spoken and a great teacher. I really appreciated the multiple angles - made it feel more like an in-person lesson while still in the comfort of my own kitchen.

Attended the "KNIFE SKILLS - Seasonal Vegetables" class and enjoyed every bit of it. Learned some new techniques and ate more than expected.
Covid precautions at the facilities were great with plexiglass separating all students, with masks mandatory until at workstation and hand washing at arrival.
George was a great host and teacher and was able to accommodate for a vegan diet as well as teaching in english and french

I did a virtual cooking class with George today and it was a wonderful experience! George is an excellent teacher and very detailed in his processes. I had plenty of questions and he graciously took the time to answer all of them. I will definitely be doing more of his classes. Thanks George!

J’ai pris un cours privé en ligne sur l’agneau. J’ai tout de suite été impressionnée par l’excellente présentation visuelle du cours. Trois caméras ont été placées de façon à ce que l’on puisse voir la planche à découper, la cuisinière et le chef. Il est donc très facile de bien comprendre les instructions même si l’on n’est pas expert. Le chef Georges est vraiment sympathique et sans prétention et partage sa grande expérience avec beaucoup de générosité. En à peine une heure, j’ai appris plusieurs petits trucs qui me serviront pour d’autres recettes. Je vais sûrement prendre d’autres cours, d’ailleurs ma fille et moi avons hâte de suivre celui sur l’ail! Merci chef Georges!

Like other reviewers, I was a little skeptical at first about the virtual experience. I've done two of them now, and I must say the experience was excellent both times. You have Chef Georges' guidance and instruction throughout.he even coached me through Frenching a rack of lamb (he had chops). These classes have allowed me to venture into cooking that I would never have tried on my own (and I'm a decent home cook). The next time I'm going to invite a group of friends to do it together. It will be a lot of fun. I hope you do the same. Merci Chef Georges!

Attended a couples cooking class recently and had a great time. We prepared appetizers and main and had dessert along with that. The ingredients were anything but run of the mill. It was high end and adventurous! The risotto had baby spruce tips and Labrador tea for example. You hands on prepare and cook the whole meal yourself and then get to enjoy eating it. Chef George shared many pratical cooking tips with us, which I will use going forward. Also, felt safe with plexiglass, between couples and chef. Hand washing and masks when leaving work station were vigorously encouraged and respected by all. If you want to get out of the house and support a local small business in Ottawa, I highly recommend C’est Bon Cooking School. I can’t wait to do this again! Am doing a food tour soon as well with them and looking forward to that!

Last week my bride and I took a Knife Skills class with Chef Georges; it was fantastic! I'm a beginner (my wife more competent). We learned how to prepare a many different veggies, as part of a delicious menu Georges has planned. We prepared spring rolls (and sauce), sauteed mushrooms, beet salad with goat cheese - and ratatouille! Georges was great - he has the right skills, patience, personality and tone to make this a really fun evening of learning while eating. If you're in Ottawa, check this school
out. You won't regret it.

I attended a Couples Class last week with chef Georges to celebrate an anniversary and had the most amazing time! As one of very few COVID outings, we were pleasantly surprised by all the precautions that the facility has thought through to make classes a safe and distanced experience, without compromising any of the fun. We had a blast cooking with Georges - he was an incredibly personable and engaging teacher. We cooked three amazing courses together (with a few surprise treats complimentary of the chef mixed in). Georges shared all kinds of valuable nuggets throughout the class as we learned different cooking techniques and he even helped us brush up on our knife skills (we were very appreciative). In curating the menu, Georges handpicked several unique “Boreal” ingredients that were showcased in our risotto, along with other special proteins that he had sourced for the class to pair with high quality everyday ingredients in the other dishes we took on. We learned how to master a beurre blanc sauce, sear scallops, slay a risotto, sear and baste guinea fowl, and even got to torch the creme brûlées that we prepared ourselves! We got a package with the recipes of our dishes so that we could recreate them from home.

This class was completely hands-on and Georges did a great job of simplifying the intimidating as we tackled each course.

I would highly recommend C’est Bon to anyone and everyone, and can’t wait to return soon! If you’re considering a visit, I wouldn’t give it any more thought!
