Had to wait for 2 hours to get the order. Pathetic service. Never coming again
Edit_latest: Come on. I have asked you to cancel the order and you said it is not possible. Why trying to be nice here. Why is it not possible to cancel the order? Trying to fool the customers. Stop it!
This is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in GTA.though they also have vegetarian options but this is a place I’ll swear by for North Indian and Hyderabadi (Indian Hyderabad) non vegetarian cuisine. They live up to their name, Chandni Chowk. Anyone looking for Purani Dilli ki mutton curry, this is the place to go.
I ordered takeout based on the reviews and my experience convinced me all their 5 star reviews are fake. 1) none of the staff wears masks. 2) the old guy cashing upfront handles money and food without cleaning his hands 3) the briyani is ok not the average 4) the place is badly run down inside 5) I saw one of the chef's handling food by throwing it in the grill like he doesn't want to be there or very tired.
Food was fine but no one was wearing masks nor did they ask a mask less customer to wear one - this during a time when Omicron is running rampant. I asked about this and they half heartedly agreed with me but didn’t ask this other customer to wear one. Then the other customer went on to chat with the restaurant staff laughing about how masks are useless etc.
There were no toilet paper, no lights in washroom.and washroom were so dirty.ewww, And when we mentioned that to staff. The counter guy mentioned that to take tissue paper from counter. Seriously.
It was hilarious and shocking at the same time. Who take tissue paper from the counter to toilet?
And they table were so sticky and they did not even asked for covid certificates. Ufff. How they are running their business like this.
Probably the best butter chicken and lamb biryani I've eaten since landing in this country. I have finally found a place with the same taste like Delhi. This is my go to spot in downtown.
This place is a hidden Gem of Toronto that serves authentic Hyderabadi Biryani at a very decent price. This place was referred by my friend. I am in love with their Biryani now. Can't wait to try this place again.
Food good but hygiene is definitely a concern as the handler touched the rice and naan with bare hands multiple times while packing. He was also generous enough to let a homeless man use the restroom but again he touches the food with his hands without gloves and touched many surfaces so it’s both pros and cons
I celebrated my birthday last night in this fine place. Well it was a awesome evening and the place was absolutely one of the reasons for this outstanding celebration. The crew collaborated in a very nice style, the cooking was appetizing and my friends were so thrilled. We shall surely come back again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.
Sharing my honest experience, Biryani is best only the when it is fresh same day, they don't cook fresh everyday. Before you order check it, ask to give only if they made it same day, otherwise simply refuse it. Twice they serve me like that. I wish they had told me HONESTLY.
Had the famous foot long kebob of Little India, Gerrard St. Loved it and the gentleman behind the counter gave us complementary chana, which was exceptional as well. Very good customer experience always with a smile.
This food is by far the best Indian food you'll ever taste. Don't second guess your self. Hearing a lot of things about this restaurant made me go try it. Just in love with Indian food because of this restaurant.
This is THE O. G.kabab place on Gerrard street. Everytime we come down for an event or whatever, we have to make a pitstop here for their legendary footlong kebabs with naan. At about $7 a plate ($8 for chicken kebab) you CANNOT go wrong.
Each plate comes with naan, kebab, bit of salad, and two types of dipping sauces. I don't think you can get better value in the GTA. Not only that, but the taste and quality of everything I just mentioned is stellar.
I previously did have issues with some of their other dishes (silly me for experimenting) and have determined that I'd rather save my money and buy more kebab rather than trying a curry or other bbq dish.
I still give this place 5 stars because the owner and cook are amazing people. I had a problem with one dish and they gladly exchanged it for me, no questions asked.
Make no mistake, this place does kebab, and does it well. Go pay your respects to a Gerrard classic.
(Beef over chicken for me, and red sauce over green.: p)
