I just wanted to send a quick note to Mike and all the staff, I grew up in Waterloo but reside full time in Toronto, when I order over the phone Mike and his staff always have the product in my hands the following day and the store eats the courier charges, also the selection they have is most times far superior than any of the leading stores in Toronto, great shopping experience!

Fabulous

Channers has great high-end clothing and I recommend them to all my friends. I have been going there for a decade or more. I met Mark many years ago. He is great. I have been working with Mike now for probably 6 years or more and he is incredible. Couldn’t recommend Mike more. Yes, you pay for higher end. But the personal service is next to none. If you get a chance ask for Mike. You won’t be disappointed. Cheers!

Do not go here. Trust me it is not worth the behaviours of certain employees (aka BilI) who I definitely see why he gets all the terrible reviews. This guy is horrible, rude, condescending and was literally cussing about my parents and I infront of me. He was swearing and yelling at his co-worker not to sell to us. Why do you only treat CERTAIN individuals like this? Really sketch if you know what I mean. Because if that is so, that is pretty messed up. And why didn't the owner intervene when you started mumbling and swearing at us? , even after I let it known that I can hear you? He's probably the same tbh. And the reason why you went from 0-100, aggressive and angry, was because we told you the scanned price did not match the tagged price on the jacket. And then you proceeded to LIE and tell us that the tagged price was just a mistake and that it's not the real price and that it's actually 100$ more expensive. I literally explained very calmly that the price should be what is tagged. Even so, since you had such a horrible attitude I left with that jacket and paid the higher price, only to find out that it was indeed priced CORRECTLY as I saw it was the same price as tagged online (for your store). Not only did you just try to scam us and lie but you started cussing at us for literally your store's mistake. I did indeed go back there and get my price adjustment and was served by a different employee who was normal and a gentlemen. What is worse from the initial interaction with Bill was that the owner was there and did nothing. Really shows that he and Bill are probably the same. 0/10 would not recommend. Something really fishy about this place.

Left some alterations on a very old suit to the last minute (my own fault). No questions asked, they helped get what I needed done in under a week, even though I didn't purchase the suit with them. Ended up leaving with a replacement suit and a new shirt with a smile on my face. Bill was extremely eager to help without being pushy. Can't say I'm often impressed by retail service but this stood out. Shop local!

What a great experience! A gentlemen named Mike helped me find the perfect tuxedo while demonstrating superb knowledge on each product he recommended.

Highly recommend Channers! Ask for Mike and you'll be taken care of.

Bullying, lying, incompetent, and unkind.

Both Mike Channers (owner, short, protruding tummy) and Bill (white hair, glasses) claimed that the tailor did a perfect job at mending a shirt (attached). My hope is that they were blatantly lying because if they truly deem this a perfect job, both Mike and Bill are incompetent.

They chose bullying a resolution strategy. Bill had his hand in my face as he aggressively argued there was not a problem with the tailoring. Mike’s strategy at establishing dominance in conversation was to wave his finger at me, signaling that I ought to approach him to discuss the matter. This is cartoonish and showcases a lack of civility.

I went in today looking for shoes. The first face I met was Mark Channer, the owner, and he gave me his full attention. Thankful to have a place like this in Waterloo. Good selection, good service.

Had an awesome experience dealing with the owner Mark, last night. Mark was personable, professional and provided excellent customer service. I went in to buy a Moose Knuckles jacket and walked out with a Nobis! Mark answered all my questions and educated me about the different products. Hands down will be coming here again! Great job.

I discovered Channers a few years ago when I moved near here from Toronto. What a pleasant surprise to find a clothier that carries the labels that I was used to buying in Toronto and Europe. I was fortunate, and lucky I guess, to have Mark Channer, the owner, look after me on the occasions that I shopped here. Mark helped me make decisions for the appropriate styles that are suitable for me. Mark also shows excitement over the product he sells. One very seldom comes across this kind of personal service these days! I'm now looking forward to my next visit!
I was once told that "Clothes Make The Man", This is true to this day!

Mark at Channer's Mens Apparel helped myself, fathers, and groomsmen find suits for my wedding day. All of the guys were fitted, and any alterations were done in a timely manner. Excellent customer service & quality products. Highly recommend!

Excellent service. We were well looked after and we walked out with more than we had anticipated on buying! Mark and his team were gracious and we really felt appreciated and like our business was appreciated.

*Sigh* I have to preface that Mike really did try to help me, but maybe a little too late. Another sales rep helped size me for a shirt, said they do alterations to dart any loose fitting bits. That said, even after darting the shirt was just too big. I put blind faith in the professionals as this is their living, but off the get go the shirt simply wasn't the right size. I understand off the rack will never be the same as custom, but I'm disappointed in the service of the first rep. By that point Mike can only do more alterations to what was already purchased and I can't return something so heavily altered post tailoring. Still after two rounds of tailoring the shirt just looks loose and baggy. Ended up getting something much better fitting for a fraction of the cost at RW&CO, no tailoring needed.

Such a challenging time to shop! Right? Not at Channers. I am gobsmacked by their level of customer service. No need to go into the details, but Mike certainly went “above and beyond” any expectations we could’ve had. That, plus beautiful quality clothing is worth trying to shop in these crazy retail times.

Been shopping at Channer’s since 2008, and have never had a bad experience. Quality, attention to detail, and impeccable service. High fashion but but with a cool factor that keeps them fresh. Being a Canadian that travels to Europe, then being called avant-garde in style there is awesome. Thanks Mark and the team.

Simply the best selection and service for serious shoppers. From custom suits - to last minute shirts/shoes for a night out - I'm always confident that I'll leave with what I need. Mark and his team go way above and beyond - sometimes even hand delivering pieces (like my wedding suit) to make sure I'm taken care of. 5 Stars - hands down!

I see people below complaining about customer service. Prior to outfitting my wedding from there I only bought a couple things a year but would go in frequently. I never have had an issue with customer service. They are there when I need them and not there when I don't. I mostly see Derek when I go in and he is great. Harry Rosen on the other hand, I have had lots of issues at.

I have been a repeat customer over many years. Realistically I buy one or two items a year from Channers. Price is high but quality is higher. Great customer service. Always leave satisfied. Gentleman on Friday night was great. He was even able to look up purchase history and get my size on a specific brand. 6 stars!

5 Stars! Mike, Mark, and Shelley make sure your experience is flawless every visit! Mike is on point and with every custom suit and gives you 100% every time. The attention to detail is spectacular. All of my made to measure suits have been perfect.

Shelley has a great bubbly attitude and always has a smile on her face! She's easy to deal with and gives me an honest opinion on what shirts, jeans, shoes accessories look crisp or just don't suit me!

Mark has always made the extra effort to remember my name and say hello when he sees me in the store. It shows an owners pride in his store when he remembers you and makes the effort to say hello and shake your hand even if he's dealing with customers!

I recently visited Channers in Waterloo for a Game Changer Suit Event. My experience was top notch from start to finish.

When I came in for my final fitting, Mark, Derek and Mike jumped into action to have a few alterations done quickly. I had a big speaking engagement and wanted to wear my new suit.

The suit fits like a glove and is a showstopper!

Thank you for an amazing experience. I will return again and again.

I have purchased a few pieces of clothing over the years at Channers. They have great products and a great selection. However, I have had numerous poor experiences (as recently as earlier today) where the staff make no effort to ask if I need assistance with anything or acknowledge me beyond an initial “hello”.

Today, they said hello as I walked in and then seemed to walk by/pay no attention as I stood directly in front of them trying on winter coats. I was the only customer in the store, and not one of their 5 or 6 employees (it was a Saturday afternoon) made any effort to ask if I needed help. I went upstairs to look at more winter coats, and one employee even came upstairs after me, but sat down with his back to me as I was looking at the coats. I had to walk by him on the way back downstairs and he said nothing to me. I realize that employees can be busy, and no doubt they had things to do. However, being the only customer in the store and having numerous employees watch as I shop and say nothing is why I am giving them 2/5 stars. As I left the store, the same employees at the front desk watched me walk out, saying nothing. I left frustrated, thinking that perhaps I did not look like their “typical” clientele that deserved acknowledgement.

This is really unfortunate as they do carry great clothing, but I will not be back there again due to a few negative experiences in regards to their customer service.

If you appreciate quality and attentive service, this is the place to shop Menswear. Can imagine that this was the way it used to be before the big box stores. Very knowledgeable staff who make it an experience and not just a purchase.

I've never experienced better customer service at a store. The staff are crazy good at their jobs. They know how to fit anybody, quickly and correctly. And they have great style advice. For higher end clothing, it's pretty affordable, too.

I really like the London Channer’s location because they’re all about customer service. From the moment you walk in someone is there to help you and make the purchase special. Not so much here. It was my first time attending this location, and probably last. No one really gave me the time of day. I was fortunate to have one employee get me a change room to try on jeans. They never checked in on me after that. In fact, aside from the change room and paying for what I selected, no one ever assisted or talked to me. This is the polar opposite of how you get treated at their London location (or a similar competitor, like Harry Rosen’s). Thanks for the two pairs of jeans at least. Wouldn’t recommend you attend this location unless they work harder at their customer service experience.

Although their products are great, I am giving them one star because of their service. My family shops here often, and we had a negative experience just over a year ago, which we decided to look past, as it could have been an isolated incident.

We went in this past weekend to purchase an item, and the employee kept leaving us to tend to other clients, and did not even tell us that he was leaving. We just needed 5 minutes, as our purchase did not require an extensive amount of time, so the employee should have served us first and then moved onto the next client.

He left us multiple times to tend to this other client, and we were not getting ahead. After 20 minutes of being in the store and not getting anywhere, we left and went to another local establishment that provided us with the same quality of clothing we were looking for, and service that exceeded our expectations, especially after leaving here.

My suggestion to the store is to revamp your client experience, because the items you sell can be found elsewhere, even within KW. If your clients do not feel appreciated and respected, they will go elsewhere.
