Chaopaya Thai Restaurant

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were very happy with the service and atmosphere and the food was delicious! We recommend it and will return again.

Delicious Thai cuisine in a peaceful, relaxing interior and all at very reasonable prices! Plus they have lots of parking.

Glass chicken noodles, sweet basil beef and chicken with mixed vegetables are delicious. But you absolutely need to try lemon prawn soup! It is appetizer size though. Will definitely come back. The fact that they have own parking is definitely a plus!

Our go to place for Thai in Barrie. Owners are great and the food is quality. I might have just figured out supper for tomorrow lol.

Great Thai food. Parking was an issue, but not the owners fault. Major road construction had some streets closed, but it was worth the effort.

A decent Thai place, great location and authentic flavours, only drawback was the portion size, small portions!

We went there in an afternoon when there were no one. The owner or manager herself was the only one in the dining area. It was very hard to get any service and she charged us for water. The food was also not good. We will not go back again.

Very nice haven't been to a Thai restaurant in over 20 years. My lunch guest she spent time in Thailand years ago and helped me with menu choices. Will return

Very autistic Thai food restaurant with delicious quality food. Though the prices are a bit high for lower servings, the food quality was very impressive. And not to mention, the atmosphere and staff were very kind and helpful. Next time I go to Barrie, I will definitely consider coming to this restaurant again. I’m you’re coming here, 2 things I recommend buying are the Golden Chicken Curry, or their Pad Thai. You will definitely enjoy it.

Noodle dish had very little ingredients other than noodles that we all pasted together. Green curry was like water and veggies. $70 for 4 dishes and rice was not included? With restaurants working hard to survive I don’t like to post a negative review but this was just not good

Wonderful friendly and attentive owners. I've enjoyed every meal here. I recommend the lunch specials. Their hot and sour soup is scrumptious!

We really really enjoyed their food! They have this home made chili sauce and it's super addictive! Food really had this authentic taste. Their patio even overlooks the Simcoe lake! Definitely coming back to try more!

Most authentic Thai food in Barrie. The owners are lovely and take time each visit to teach our daughter a new word in Thai.

This was a pleasant lunch stop on our way back to Toronto from MacTier. We were in the mood for some rice based food and decided to try out this Thai restaurant which was in Barrie downtown with a lake view.
The restaurant has free parking on their premises and also has a sizeable patio seating.
The owner was really friendly and we had a fun conversation. They have a really cool seawater aquarium at their entrance.
The food is a bit pricey, but everything was good (we were a group of 6 and tried many items). The service was fast - we were the only customers at that point - but still they managed to bring everything in under 15min.
The mango rice pudding was heavenly!

Overall Verdict:
Do try out if you're in the vicinity.

It was our first time there and it was great. We havent had good Thai food and Thai milk iced tea since we were in Thailand, and they did a great job with both the food and the drinks. Also had a very nice view of the lake.

First time going here was fantastic. Staff was very friendly, and the food was great. Highly recommend the mango salad and garlic shrimp.

Firstly not being biased, coming from Singapore and also having the experience of having Thai food this just felt very disheartening, the owner tried to allure me into while speaking, I ordered red curry with chicken and fish and duck were ordered with green curry coming home they seemed to have been prepared in the same curry and also very non authentic, I have paid for much better Thai restaurants in Toronto but living in Innisfil and charging for so called garbage was really uncalled. I have never been charged ever with rice in any Asian restaurants. Hope this 4.5 decreases for this guy
