The trail is temporarily closed as of Oct 3, unless you access it through the Vimy Bridge entrance. There is a note on the website. I see reviews from a week ago but I'm not sure how they accessed the trails. I would appreciate a reply.

Fabulous place for a walk along the river or to launch for a paddle. Also a shelter with table for a picnic. Parking lot is often full.

Unfortunately it was temporary closed due to the thunderstorm damage that recently happened in the area

Hidden gem in Barrhaven, gazebo and tables to help take your food out regardless the, weather. The area to see the river is relatively small. Nice for canoeing and kayaking.

Nice walk along water, boardwalk, quiet. Equal parts shaded and sunny. Arrive early for parking.

Great place for a fun and easy hike along the boardwalk. When it’s hot, you can sit under the bridge to cool off. If you are feeling adventurous you can go kayaking as well!

Nice and well kept walking paths. Would recommend to have receptacles for people to dispose of plastic cups. Thank you. I will go back really beautiful area

Nice short photogenic trail.mostly broadwalk so stroller friendly. Lots of small creatures to see, though I did not find turtle. Trail closely connected to highway so car noise among the chirping birds. I don't think fishing is allowed here but saw ppl fishing.there should be authorities to watch.

Nice place for a short walk. Picturesque but I wish the city could connect the route from under Vimy Bridge to longfields where you can then go on a further hike or ride

Although there's not a lot of room for social distancing on the boardwalks. I still enjoy the nature.

A lovely trail along the Rideau River that affords you some lovely scenery, a modest distance for a return walk and a variety of wildlife. There is a small dock to launch canoes and kayaks in season. That section of the river is calm and wide so there is less a concern for safety with the occasional motor boat travelling by.

Nice little trail, fun for the family, especially young children trying to find all the fairy doors.

Snakes, frogs, fish, and birds. What a lovely little trail to walk along. I love being under the bridge and looking up into the sky. It's a lovely piece of architecture. You can even rent canoes and kayaks from the parking lot of the conservation area, though I never have, so have no opinion on that particular business. I do kayak that area though and it's just lovely.

A nice, easy trail for a short stroll. Lots of wildflowers, turtles, frogs, red-winged blackbirds, and the occasional heron. In late June and July, it's absolutely flooded with fireflies - a must-see at night (just beware the mosquitoes!)

Amazing place to walk and take kids for play day. Cool boats going by plus water park and two parks! One toddler park and an older kids park. Great addition Ottawa!

There is a new shoreline observation deck but THE DOCK HAS BEEN REMOVED.
We came for the first time this year to paddle on the Rideau. There was no safe place to launch our kayaks.
When we put in downstream at Eccolands Park, Ghapman Mills is convenient for a picnic place or toilet stop. That’s no longer possible with no dock.
The old dock appears to be chained to the shore upstream in bushes away from the path.
It would be nice to have a canoe or kayak dock conveniently located near the picnic shelter.

Beautiful scenery and walking path. Great covered picnic area near the entrance and beside the river. There's a couple nice bridges and a fantastic HUGE tree - the kids loved climbing and playing pretend!

I enjoyed along the river path surrounded by trees and relaxing bird souds while overlooking the river.

Decent place, on Rideau river decently maintained can be a fair amount of people at times. Fishing from shore is difficult as it's quite weedy. Launching kayaks is also a bit difficult for newer kayakers as it's deep off the dock and no shallow easy access. Location also has wild parsnip/giant hogweed
