Charlie's Caribbean Cuisine

Charlie's is my absolute favorite place to dine, order takeout, or buy groceries. The food is EXCELLENT. There is something for everyone. Wether you want a doubles, red snapper, roti, or Caribbean Chinese fried rice or chowmein, peppa pot or soup. The food will bring you back home by the mere taste. If you feel like cooking or visiting their butcher you are sure to get nothing but the best. So visit Charlies you will not be disappointed. Also they cater and serve vegetarian dishes. Just like home a hospitable atmosphere. Support local.

Worst place I have ever visit in my life, staff working at front need to improve some customer service, they are manner less and rude

Doubles are outstanding! Aloo pies is a must try. This is by far one of the better tasting Caribbean eats closer to the Hamilton area which is located close to dixi mall in Mississauga.
The food always seems to be fresh and tasty like the Caribbean taste one would expect.
As a treat we will shop at the mall then head over to Charlie’s.we also sometimes go next door to Charles supermarket. Very friendly and easy going. No complaints

I called there was no response so I went to the restaurant where the customer service was horrible and I overheard one of the cashiers talking bad about customers. Food was okay.

This is my mississauga staple for great Caribbean food. You cant go wrong with anything here try it out

Delicious food. Ordered their wings multiple times and special chicken fried rice. Good quantity and quality.

Barley any chicken meat except Bones, all I got was chicken bones with my white rice! Im still hungry

This food taste like leftovers from two days ago and ran my belly. The oxtail had no flavour but was cooked well no pressure cooker. I asked for a piece of fried chicken and got fried chicken that was not breaded but baked roast chicken. The jerk chicken had no flavour was not grilled at all. Tasted like oven baked and barely cook. The rice and peas was soggy and was like old leftovers. Very disappointing for the money spent.

The staff should be trained well! Very rude to everyone! They cannot manage their work … once they get busy.they go rude, frustrated

Got the curry chicken roti and Jerk chicken roti, curry chicken was amazing but the Jerk chicken tastes different than we thought but the chicken was still very juicy. Hot sauce was SPICY (haberneo) and the rotis are big portions so it'll last us another meal. Overall would come here again

In mississauga getting my nails done. Left home in a rush was very hungry asked my spouse to get some food he bought two meals curried goat rice and an oxtail with rice Cole slaw.only thing palatable was the coleslaw. Both meals had no flavor. I'm sure it couldn't be a Jamaican in that kitchen won't get my money again. Will continue to support the grocery store but not the restaurant. I told my hubby he should should have returned the food wasted extra hard earned money. Do better change the cook get a chef.

Not enough chicken for the jerk chicken n not enough gravy on the rice n peas the end of my dish was very dry

Very disappointing, how far have they have fallen.

Ordered curry goat and rice lunch special for $7.99, good price, but terrible food, no taste, lack of salt and other seasoning.

The doubles again lacking in seasoning and the bara was chewy, bara should melt in your mouth.

Will not be going back.

I just ordered two Roti from here and the darn roti wasn’t baked long enough. It’s chewy and practically raw. Yuck. Glad Uber Eats refunded me my money cause they saw the picture.

Everything was hot, fresh and really delicious.the rice was cooked perfectly and the chicken was seasoned well.will definitely order again

Top Notch we had my sisters 50th Birthday and ordered The Family Platter.the guest were hungry for more️️️. We were sorry we did not order more.we know for next time

Had the chicken roti and curried beef. Roti was fantastic and chicken was tender. Curried beef was a big hit. Rice and beans were a bit dry but overall it hit the spot.

The curried beef roti is fantastic, as is the curried goat rice and anything chicken. So glad I tried this place!

We ordered several large trays of food from Charlie’s for a family party! The food was excellent, the service was excellent…they had everything ready to go on time and packed up. The pepper shrimp was a huge hit. Will for sure order from here again.

One of these days I’m gonna come back there and teach ya’ll how to cook oxtail, cause I tried it before the pandemic it was bad I tried it today and it was just as bad. Way to much salt, taste some what burnt, just not worth buying, I feel bad for the ox that give it’s life for this.

I have visited 4 times to this restaurant and will NOT return! Consumers Beware as the ladies 100% do NOT look at instructions on any orders or plainly DONT CARE not sure why the owners are so Clueles, just Terrible Customer Service over the Phone and in Person! These ladies have ZERO social skills except when they speak their personal gossip out loud to each other! Slow Unprofessional Rude front desk employees I have EVER experienced in awhile wish they had speakers just not camera! Someone take a video and post it as I will not return!

We use to go to Charlies often prior to the pandemic. Food was always great. This weekend we ordered 2 large orders to go of ox and rice and curry chicken. Spent over $40 but we were disappointed. Prices are higher food portions smaller and it was dry. I like this place and hope that it does go back to the quality it once had. Will try it again and decide if it will be a restaurant of choice.

I got the curried goat with coleslaw and a side of rice and gravy. I was so shocked that the food had no taste. The goat was moist and juicy but there was noooo flavour. Not even the rice was salted yaaaaaaw. Why was I under the impression that Charlie’s was good. They are not seeing my money again. Stinkfoot

Good portion, fried rice tasted like ones from mandarin, didn't feel like I was having anything different.

Good food but have consistently had issues when trying to place an order for delivery. Namely, the restaurant is open but can't place an order, since Skipthedishes tells me the restaurant is closed for delivery. And since I'm about 2 hours round trip from the restaurant, this is a big deal.

If you drive, best bet is to call in your order ahead to the restaurant directly and pick it up yourself. If you're like me and take transit, call the restaurant ahead of placing a delivery order to ensure they have the Skip app working on their end.

Edit: also, using Skip is sometimes dicey. The restaurant doesn't confirm in time and your order gets cancelled. Just happened to me, not even 2 minutes ago.

Edit: issue seems to be if you try to select a delivery window time. Ordering asap, it gets confirmed quickly. FYI, if it helps anyone.

I stop by to get lunch from this restaurant today, I got white rice and oxtail, it doesn’t taste good and the food was overpriced, but the customer service was okay.

Ordered chicken roti 》got wicked heartburn 》got home that evening and had awful food poisoning experience the day after. 《NEVER AGAIN! Lesson learned! 》

The black pudding had no taste at all, it was frozen and wasn't told that is was going to be frozen and the little container of sour didn't make any sense as it was only good for one use, very disappointed as usually get good black pudding from Charlie's and this time was a huge let down.

This place worse food ever I ordered 2 large oxtail with rice, the rice is uncooked oxtail got no flavor don't know how this place got 4 stars wasted $40 bucks

Food is a solid 4.5, however the service makes it a negative 4 stars if I could give it. Ordered for pickup 40 min in advance, only to arrive and have to wait another 30 minutes for my food. I understand mistakes happen, however I have ordered curry goat here and got a box of plain rice because they forgot to add the curry goat. They really need a better order system, not efficient at all. Its literally less work to cook at home than order from here. Attitude and agrivation is basically what you get. Cannot believe I even tipped.

They keep taking phone calls for orders. When your standing in front of them waiting to give them your money. But she takes another call so the food is just sitting getting cold. So Manny other places can get better food and treated with respect as a customer.

It's Mother's Day today. We pre-ordered our food 24 hours in advance through skip the dishes. Delivery was set between 4: 30 and 5, getting live updates from Skip all the way until no one showed up at the door. Called to find out what happened, they never made the order, processed it through their system as if it was sent out, and voila, Mother's Day dinner ruined.
Go there if you like your chicken and service "jerked. "

I ordered through uber eats and they were quick with my order.i got the oxtail and the meat was delicious.however, i didn't enjoy the rice.overall the food was alright.

Girls behind counter are a bit rude they don't explain time or say how long will it take for food to be ready! Waited almost an hour and didn't say anything!

Absolutely delicious meals provided by the owners authentic recipes.
From my recent conversation with the owner, the meat used to cook the meals are fresh from their own grocery store located next door.

It can't get better than using fresh meat from your own butcher shop, to produce meals the cause customers to salivate.

Their white meat boneless chicken Roti is terrific! Large portions! Tasty! This is a popular hot spot w the Hurontario and Dundas locals and the East Mississauga area locals.

I simply enjoyed their food. I always get excellent service there. The place is always clean and the employees are always helpful. Highly recommended.

The food had no flavour, his prices are way too high. Charlie has an arrogant behavior and he does not deserve any business or loyalty.

Good value for tasty food. I was getting it on uber eats and realized it was not too far from me so made the trip. The service was courteous and thoroughly enjoyed the fried whole fish.

and we have to do everything so we all are safe due to covid. The gentleman at the door need to have some people skills he is very lacking in that department.

Food was really good, a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Was full after half of my roti.

Had the chicken fried, and chicken noodles. Both delicious. I gave it a 4, because the cashiers weren't friendly at all.

Ordered via Skipthedishes pickup - very easy, walked in and they had my order ready. The food was delicious very well flavoured and a lot of meat per serving. Super pleased with the food!

Went in said good day and the girl behind counter did not say anything to me for 4 minutes, asked the price for something, she said how do you want it. ZERO customer service skills. Was just trying to support your own in these times.

Wait time was a bit long seeing it was within the lunch hours.

Not impressed. Waited 25 minutes for my food but didn't mind at the time as I saw how busy they were and reviews seemed good but unfortunately the food lacked flavor big time and both white and rice and peas overcooked.

Food is always consistently good. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, so its better to call in your order for pick up if you don't have much time. This restaurant is always busy and that says alot about the food and service they provide. The family is also very friendly!

Garbage food, coleslaw was spoiled (I had to spit it back out) and oxtail had mostly bones. Their $14 oxtail is small size portion everywhere! Not worth it take your money elsewhere!

Got a large curry goat and rice. Good portion for 2 people to share. Food taste good. I would give 4.5 stars.

Not bad at all I wish I knew which chef is which on a weekend because the food was fire. The other week meh. Overall you can't go wrong with Charlies if you're too lazy to cook at least you're guaranteed you still have proper Guyanese food. Order before cus the wait is long av 15-20min but that's not bad cuz at least you know you're not having stale food 100% support Charlie's

Food is great and flavourful and their portions are decently size for the prices. I would definitely recommend for a good place to go to for a quick takeout!

Beyond delicious roti and a generous portion. Always fresh. You can have it wrapped or seperate, and the family meal deals are amazing too. If you're early enough you can snag a deelish bag of fresh pulari with tamarind sauce!

One of the few Caribbean stores/restaurants owned and operated by Caribbean people. Always well stocked with everything from fresh produce, meats, etc.

The meals and service were ahead of our expectations. I truly loved the environment of this restaurant. Superb spot to take the family out for dinner.

The staff are very nice, but what I went for was not that good. Doubles were small, and not very good. They were dry, and looked like they were premade and given out at the time of order. Leela's and Charlie's are not even close to the same level of quality. I am only talking about the doubles, as I haven't tried any other dish.

We went to Charlie's last weekend and had a fabulous meal there. The restaurant is not a big place for space but there is enough room for sitting down which we did stay and eat. It's family friendly as we had our baby boy and toddler with us. They did have a booster seat which was great for the hostess to offer us. My husband is from Guyana and moving here we had not found many Great authentic places to eat Carribean food. He said this reminded him of home cooked food. The food portion was good. The atmosphere was cool, and calm. Mostly people were in and out ordering a take away. But overall, what a fantastic place to get some authentic food. It's a place we will definitely return to and refer friends and family members too. Just like someone had referred us to this hidden gem. We also bought some sweets next door and spices. We will return to dine here again or take away. Thank you to the staff that made our first visit of many more positive & welcoming. 5 Stars because they deserve it. I would give bonus stars if they were closer downtown Toronto.

It's not Jerk chicken its jerk sauce on cooked chicken. A good jerk is smoked. The food was good the price is more than fair it's just not what I expect from a Caribbean restaurant. The staff was polite there was no issue in that respect.

Probably one of the best jerk chicken I have tried, so moist and spicy the portions are good and service was good! I got the lunch special jerk and it was 6.99! Im going back to this place For sure!

Ordered through DoorDash. I read reviews and seemed like a pretty reputable place. I ordered curry goat w/ rice and peas and it was unbelievably dry. On top of that, I found a hair in my curry. Really disappointed.
