Great selection of produce, meats, seasonings and spices essential to Caribbean cuisine. Got what I needed to make my Jamaican pumpkin beef soup. It's a small store but packed with what you need. Will return for sure.

My local caribbean grocery store. Owned by the people, for the people.

So disappointed that I used to spend my money at the Chinese owned Danforth Market ‍️

A few days ago, we purchased some fish from this store. Externally, the fish looked OK, however, when I got home, the fish was uncleaned internally. It was a gross experience! The senior gentleman that helped us never stopped talking and asking personal questions about religion and giving us marital advice. It was completely inappropriate. He needs to focus and take better pride in his work. This was our first experience with this store and we will not be going back. We are happy others had positive experiences. Customers have choices and we really wanted to support but ended up being a lost opportunity for business.

I just stopped in with my partner. It was my 1st time there. They have a nice selection of Caribbean foods. Pricy but I understand the import fee part. Staff was friendly. I'll definitely stop by there again if I'm looking for something specific.

Charloo's received an average rating from me. I read the other reviews to give myself an expectation level. For me they are relatively close by and therefore convenient. It is on the small size so this footprint means it has limited variety. I got the curries I was looking for at a fair price. I was also going to purchase the Garam Masala but I believe they were outdated (as another review eluded to) so left that behind. Was also going to purchase some Peardrax but at more than $5.00 for the large bottle (it's more than I am used to paying for it) I also left that behind. Additionally the service was neither super friendly nor testy, just middle of the road. I will keep this place in mind but will see what else is out there.

Whenever I need peanut punch, chubby, grace festival mix, lasco and catch chocolate (Jamaicans will know what I'm talking about) this is where I head. Never been disappointed as they always have them.

I don't know much about this place. But very crowded with stuff all over the place. You need bigger place and better organization.

Provided a good selection of West Indian foods but I guess it is due to Covid, some kurma on the shelf been there too long and tasted really old. Sad that money to the owner is worth more than the health of the customer.those products should have been taken off the shelf.

I don't know about been nice. I usually go in and spend at least 100$. My last visit in March was the last I will ever go back there and they need to put someone with better attitude than the old lady that cashes or she need to change her ways. The sign said they closed at 8pm I went in after 5PM and asked if they had fish the elder woman was so rude that I was walking back out when a younger woman said pleasantly they closed at 6PM and she then asked if she could help me, at that point I just said no and I looked at the sign again to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me.sure enough there were no new signs saying the hours changed. After getting in my car and driving of I thought I should have taken a picture of the sign on the door closed at 8pm. This is not my first experience with that lady but I decided to share this time.

This is a small West Indian store located in a strip mall. It carries several items including seafoods, mangoes and empty barrels. People from the islands and those of Guyanese origin go to Charloo's to purchase food. The items are arranged neatly on the shelves by categories. To save time, call ahead and ask the staff if they carry a specific item. If you ask them, they'll make suggestions of where you may find a specific item. Lots parking. Friendly and courteous staff.
