Chartwell Chateau Cornwall Retirement Residence

I've had the very pleasant experience of being guided by Marvel through the process of finding a new home for my father. He's been there for almost a month and has settled into his new home so well already. She was helpful and patient, answering all of my questions about the process. I couldn't have done it without her. Everyone at the Chartwell Chateau Cornwall have been excellent, including Sabrina and Don. I highly recommend getting a tour of this fantastic facility if you are looking for a retirement home. The atmosphere is very homey and upbeat and it's a very modern and spotless residence. They offer cleaning services, laundry, all of the delicious meals are also provided, this gives your loved one much less to worry about. There's even an on-site hair salon. Very highly recommended. Our family has been overwhelmed by the sincere welcome our mother has received. Marvel MacDonald is so skilled at addressing any challenges or concerns. Mom is loving her new found home with any amenity you could hope for. Staff are all welcoming in small and big ways. Can’t recommend it enough.

I have worked at Chateau Cornwall for 5 years now as a footcare specialist. I see the friendly faces on a regular basis and I notice the care, attention and understanding that each employee has with every resident.

The retirement facility is always very clean and tidy.

Each floor has a beautiful sunroom and balconies to see the river view.

A beautiful place to enjoy Senior living at it's best.

Our mother Marion Haramis is the matriarch of ten children and their families. We all cherish mom and when it was time to decide about where she would like to move to it was a very easy decision. Her brother Msgr. Rudy Villeneuve lived at Chateau Cornwall some years ago before he passed and loved his experience there. Every staff member has treated mom like she is family starting at the front desk. She moved into Chateau Cornwall at a difficult time as one week after her move in date Covid hit and she was subjected to lots of restrictions. Even with these restrictions she was content and happy to be in a place that kept her safe and showed such great kindness. Thank you, all of you for doing what you do to make all of our family members so welcome and happy.

I have come to know the Chartwell facility, Chateau Cornwall, not only as a retirement residence but as a family unit on its own. My mother has discovered as a resident and I have seen firsthand that the community of seniors here are brought together by a cohesive staff team that put their hearts into their responsibilities every day.

The staff ultimately set a very high standard of mutual respect for one another and this behaviour spills over to the residents. This is a very challenging work environment but the team makes it look pleasant.

Especially challenged by the Covid threat, I must also point out that Jasmin Parker and her coworkers have singularly succeeded in creating an energizing sanctuary that has kept the resident population comfortable, active and free from the outside health threat.

So, what you have before you in Chateau Cornwall is a lodging you can entrust your precious family members to unconditionally! I can’t thank everyone enough for what this residence has done to protect and care for my elderly mother!

Our family is so fortunate to have mom in such a warm, compassionate and caring “home. ” Our peace of mind, knowing mom has the care she needs and is happy in her choice of residence speaks for itself. Thank you to ALL the staff for your dedication, patience and understanding of the everyday needs the residents require.

AMAZING it what I describe this retirement home! My dad, who resided at Chateau just over four years, has moved recently because he needed more care in an assisted living setting. I remember how scary it was for my dad, my brother and I when he made the change from his own apartment to Chateau. He was welcomed warmly and openly from his first day. In no time he loved the place, the residents and the staff! I never heard my dad say one negative thing and believe me; any kind of change had and continues to be difficult for him. My brother and I never worried about our dad while he resided at Chateau and we could see how they took GREAT CARE in not only him but all the residents! The staff also supported me through the entire process when I needed to make the most difficult decisions for my father’s care about assisted living. It makes me sad to know my dad is no longer there and within our hearts Chateau Cornwall will always be remembered as his home! Words cannot express how grateful I am to this residence and the staff that work there for treating my dad, my brother and I like family!

Chateau Cornwall has been a blessing in our lives. My father has now made this his home for the last 10 months. His transition into the home has been so comforting for myself and my siblings, it could not have been any better, thanks to the staff led by Jasmine Parker. They are remarkable, they truly care about the residents and make everyone feel like they’re part of the family.
I am so grateful & thankful that places like Chartwell Chateau Cornwall exists for people like me that live so faraway from their aging loved ones. It gives me a peace of mind knowing he is taking care of that they have all of his best interest at heart and truly do treat him with the utmost dignity and respect he deserves.
Thanks to Marvel MacDonald for ALL her help, she is REALLY good at her job, is really caring & loving & I made a friend when meeting her. Also want to thank all the wellness team, nurses aides and staff for always staying on top of dad’s medical needs, again the whole team @ Chateau Cornwall is a blessing in our lives.
I highly recommend this residence for your ageing loved one.

Staff are very friendly and take excellent care of my sister. She loves the Chateau Cornwall, the staff and the other residents. My sister is relatively young compared to other residents; as such she is quite active and goes for walks daily. She has always had a tendency to trip and fall and the staff inform me immediately of any such incidents. They help her to keep track of appointments and support her involvement with in-house activities. As her power-of-attorney, I couldn't be happier with the programming and the residence in general!

I would not even give them 1 star! The worst management team. Staff members are very rude mostly to each other. Confidentiality does not exist in the home. The residents do not get the care they need from the workers that are housekeepers doing a psws job without any training. The nurse on staff has no nursing skills does not know much on anything medical she is not professional about the residents and how she speaks about the residents behind their backs to other team members. Would not want my elderly parents living there!

The residents do not receive the care that they need in this home at all! And if they medicate or do personal care on your family member they charge them a ridiculous amount of money to do so. The management team are very immature and extremely rude, they also have staff members that are not trained in anything not even a psw handing out medication to our loved ones. The manager of the nursing side is very ignorant, she has been heard bad talking her own nursing team. There is zero confidentiality in that building at all, everybody including residents know things they shouldn’t. I would not recommend putting a loved one in this home at all.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have mentoring program when a resident moves in to help them learn about the different activities as well as a general 'friend' to ease the changes the new resident is facing.
The kitchen staff accommodated to keep a lactose-free milk in their fridge for a resident who provided it. So far, my family have not experienced any hiccups.
