My father had up coming surgery and is the primary care taker of my disabled sister so we were in need of respite care for her during his recovery period. Kim and the team at Christopher’s Terrace were a lifeline for us all. They gave us the peace of mind needed during a challenging time. The care that they provided was superior as my sister is high needs. She was there for 4 weeks. Dad also stayed there after his surgery for a period of recovery. Every aspect of their stay there was enjoyed by them both and very much appreciated. We highly recommend Christopher’s Terrace in Burlington for respite care should a need arise as you can rest assure your loved one (s) will be very well looked after and respected. Thank you Kim and staff for taking such good care of them both.

If you are looking for a genuinely caring retirement community residence for your love one, in the Oakville or Burlington area, look no further than Christopher Terrace Burlington.
Our story is probably much like yours, our father passed away in February 2016 leaving our mom with mobility issues home alone in a big house in the country at the age of 82.
Myself being the youngest of her five children spent several weeks visiting the various surrounding retirement residences looking for the "right feeling location".
This was definitely not an easy task as my four siblings are strong independent women raised by their staunch German mother who was adamant that she was going to remain in her home despite knowing that she couldn't.
Christopher Terrace gave us the option of allowing mother to spend a couple of weeks at the residence prior to committing to any long-term agreement.
The staff at Christopher Terrace genuinely cares about each and every individual at their location. From the moment I stepped foot into the residence I was always blown away by the cleanliness of the facility both inside and out, as well as the friendliness of each and every individual that works there.
They always have beautiful fresh-cut flowers on display in their lobby. Some people may overlook this fact and not think it's a big deal but to me it shows the level of care they have in making everyone there feel at home.
This month marks the fifth anniversary of our mother taking up residence in her apartment at this location. The activities that they have to keep her active, have honestly given her a new lease on life. I joke with her that she gets younger every time I see her.
In the five years of living there, things have not always gone well health wise for my mother as is to be expected with any aging individual. With each incident of illness that required attention and care, it is always provided at the highest professional standard that I could expect from any organization.
Communication with the family is second to none. All key management personnel know our family members and always make us feel welcome and keep us informed on our mother's status.
I've included some pictures to show that they not only allow but encourage.all family members. (including the four-legged ones) to frequently visit. Our mother has the freedom to live her life outside of the residence and the family is welcome to pick her up and drop her off at our leisure with no time restraints.
The location is extremely secure with the outside doors being locked after 7 PM. During the two years of pandemic they kept all of the residents safe and secure and continue to do so which is a huge burden that we do not have to worry about because safety is their top priority.
The regular events that they host are fun and engaging for the residents including bringing in musicians regularly for entertainment.
Our mother was a professional cook by trade. To say I was "concerned" about the food being provided to her would be a huge understatement. Being of German background our mother would have no problem voicing her opinion on the quality of the food being provided.
Needless to say I had nothing to worry about. Shockingly.and I do use that word strongly.shockingly.my mother loved the food being provided to her from day one.
The residence likes to provide different menu items to keep things interesting. I cannot honestly say that my mother loves everything they offer from the different regions and countries but most of our conversations centre around the variety and quality of the food that she happily receives.
We have been more than pleased with the level of care the team at Christopher Terrace Burlington has provided our mother and our family.

Christopher Terrace was a wonderful place for our mom. She was there in transitional care for a short stay while waiting for Long Term Care The staff was so thoughtful and caring from the moment we walked through the door. The PSWs were amazing and took such wonderful care of mom. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all.

Chartwell Christopher Terrace Retirement Residence is doing a great job of taking care of my grandfather. From the beginning, the entire staff has been friendly and extremely helpful. My grandfather feels respected and listened to. The food is excellent and the size/layout of the building makes everything accessible/not overwhelming. My family would recommend this location to anyone looking for a place for themselves or their loved ones.

My father spent nearly 2 weeks of respite care at the Christopher Terrace Retirement Residence and he absolutely enjoyed his stay there! Kim and the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, professional and provided my father with superb services. Kim updated me on a regular basis of how my father was doing, which gave me a peace of mind while away on a conference. My father spoke very highly of Kim and the staff and how well they treated him. I highly recommend the Christopher Terrace if your are looking for a respite care and/or retirement home option for your loves ones. Thank you once again Kim and all for taking such good care of my father!

I've had the great pleasure of performing at Chartwell Christopher Terrace as a musician on a couple of occasions. I really look forward to playing there because the residents are so much fun and really enjoy taking part in each show. They show great respect for each other and genuinely enjoy each other's company. The staff is very involved with the residents and are mindful of each of their needs. This is a lively place filled with positivity, and I look forward to playing there again soon.

I enjoyed my 2 weeks of Respite Care after hip replacement surgery. The residents were very friendly and the staff very available as needed. The food was excellent in quality and variety! I would certainly recommend this accommodation for Respite Care. I also enjoyed the long halls for my necessary walking exercise since March was too chilly for outdoor activity.
