The team at Chartwell were incredibly helpful in helping my mother transition to a retirement home setting. They made us all feel welcome from day one, and more importantly, they made my mom feel extremely comfortable. My mother loves the food, and enjoys the company of all of the other residents. She is like a new person since she moved in there. I cannot thank Frank and his team enough for everything they have done!

When I visited Deerview Crossing, the atmosphere when I walked in was amazing! I was greeted by a friendly concierge and there was music in the lobby. The most amazing part was seeing the caregivers dancing to the music with the residents. Everyone that works here is friendly and the residents are clearly very happy living here!

This turned out to be the best place for my parents to land when looking for retirement living. After my dad died, my mom continued to live there. They managed her increasing dementia very patiently. Their help for and care of my mom is greatly appreciated.

Hi I’m Noah and I’m Working here as a Dietary Server for the past 5 years. It has been a wonderful time working at this residence. The elderly residents are amazing to talk to everyday and I love to hear their stories. Lots of fun activities (when Covid outbreaks aren’t happening) from our wonderful Lifestyle and Programs Manager Terri and good food provided by Chef Joan and the Dietary Team/Cooks like Myself. Michael the GM has been a wonderful GM and helps everyone stay safe during this tough Covid time. The managers/staff are really nice and willing to help any time. I may be a little biased but I highly recommend visiting this place and or having a loved one (or yourself) move here.

As their produce supplier, I work very closely with Chartwell Deerview Crossing and their kitchen staff. Ensuring their residents receive Safe Quality Foods is always their number one priority! They support their local farmers by using seasonal fruits and vegetables whenever possible. I enjoy working with a team that takes such great pride in the food they serve!

I would like to commend Terri Ryckman, Lifestyle and Programs Manager, for her tireless work in providing enriching, varied, and fun opportunities and experiences for the residents at Deerview Crossing. She does so much behind the scenes - whether it be organizing interest clubs, popcorn and a movie, puzzle and activity books, themed Happy Hours, fun games, live entertainment, special outings, or facilitating vendors Terri assures that there is something for everyone to participate in and enjoy. She adds special seasonal and holiday touches to beautifully decorate the residence. Terri produces a detailed monthly calendar of events as well as a much appreciated newsletter. More importantly, Terri is always ‘out on the floor’ interacting with the residents. She is kind, caring, compassionate, patient and has a great sense of humour. She knows each of the residents and their needs and adjusts her interactions accordingly. The residents adore her! On a personal note, I am grateful for the extra attention and “love” she shows my mom when my mom seems to need it the most. Thank you Terri for all you do for the residents and their families at Deerview Crossing. You truly make it great place to live!

July, 2022 - We were invited to Stella's 99 birthday yesterday and dinner and the party in the small dinning room was fantastc. Joan has also arranged for fresh strawberries and local produce regularly.

My Mother lives there and is working on the food committee to help get fresh food, specifically local fruit and vegetables so I will see how receptive Chartwell is to including these in the meals.

Chartwell Deerview has tremendous staff that keeps residents and their families happy. The safety and comfort of their residents is evident in their clean and well maintained facility. Highly recommended!

Parry Lawrence is the General Manager of Deerview Crossing and he sets the tone for the staff with his positive and cheerful outlook! He always has a smile on his face for the residents/visitors. My Mom has been a resident of Deerview for several years and she is very happy with the activities, especially the exercise classes and musical entertainment. These past few months during the COVID-19 pandemic have been very challenging, however Parry always had the time to explain the new procedures and infection control protocols to me, returned my emails and voice mail messages promptly. Thank you Parry and all the staff for your care and genuine concern for my Mom!
