On Friday November 10th I was a guest at your Beautiful Burlington location for a Remembrance Day Ceremony.

I was very touched first by the displays set up by Brenda Lane and staff for all to see from past and present and second and most important, the level of love, compassion and empathy shown to all residents in attendance by Brenda and Amanda who after the ceremony visited each resident, chatting with and soothing sadness and pain for those of which were touched by the devastating losses they suffered do to war.
The residents were very grateful for these intactions as smiles soon replaced the tears. Hugs ending every encounter.very touching and impressive to see.

I was also very fortunate to share a meal with some of the managers from your residence including Brenda, Amanda, Lisa and GM Shyamal.
The conversations were light hearted and quite enjoyable.

Brenda's staff were very pleasant and courteous including cook Vanessa and server Samantha who provided a most delicious lunch.

You should be very impressed with this location under the Chartwell umbrella as what I witnessed and experienced was nothing short of Excellence!

Thank You All for a Wonderful experience!

We would like to thank Brenda and her staff for the touching Rememberance Day Service and the
many displays of memorabilia obtained from various residents. Several residences commented that it was one of the most memorable service they have attended in recent years.

I'm a PSW student with Conestoga college, I applied to Chartwell's Martha's landing in search of completing my hours for graduation. I was extremely nervous but equally as excited, upon walking in I was met/ greeted as if I've been working there for years. Everyone was taking time out of their days to welcome me which made me feel at home, from the daily meetings where staff are recognized for their effort and acts of kindness they preform everyday to constant flow of communication and questions which always get answered no matter what. I want to thank all the staff and residents from Martha's Landing for making my day everyday, Thank you!

My Mother just moved into Martha's Landing in early December. Unfortunately, she was hospitalized her second week living there. The staff have been very concerned and very helpful. My Mother will be returning next week and is looking forward to being a part of this community.

My mother has been a resident at Martha's Landing for a while now.
ThIs is her home now. The staff are true professionals who take great care of the residents (which is a very stressful job that requires extreme patience & compassion).

The environment is clean & welcoming. The food is great, accomodations perfect and the location couldn't be better.

The staff combined with the atmosphere make this place a perfect retirement home.

I've checked almost all of them around the GTA & Marthas Landing is definitely the best one for our needs.

Couldn't be happier!
Thank you Martha's Landing.

The strength of any quality organization is the staff. The staff at Marthas are no exception. Caring and attentive who took the time to get to know my Dad. I never worry that Dad is not being cared for. A Clean and tidy building perfectly located in Downtown Burlington. I often join my Dad for meals and I find the food, healthy and tasty with plenty of choices.

My mom had the pleasure of staying at Martha’s Landing for a two week respite stay during the Fall of 2018.
The atmosphere at Martha’s Landing is so friendly and warm. Without a doubt, their greatest asset is truly their management and staff and the thoughtful, kind, respectful and caring manner in which they treat and interact with all residents. Everyone is smiling, happy and positive. They clearly enjoy their jobs and it shows. There are too many great staff members to mention but a special thank you to Tamra, General Manager, Meghan, Retirement Living Consultant and Brittany, Health & Wellness Manager.
Although my mom was not a permanent resident, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that she felt welcomed and part of the community, even if only for a short period of time. She was well taken care of and nothing was too much trouble.
Her one bedroom suite was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The dining room and common areas are very bright, cheery and nicely maintained.
The meals were excellent with a nice variety and served by very attentive and friendly wait staff.
She very much enjoyed her stay, saying that she felt like she was on vacation. It was a wonderful experience for her. She had the opportunity to enjoy several of the amenities, like the Hair Salon, Lakeshore Café and various on-site activities.
It is very clear that at Martha’s Landing their priority is to make the lifestyle of the resident comfortable, safe and worry-free, not only for residents but for their families as well. The peace of mind this provides is immeasurable.
I would highly recommend Martha’s Landing! It is an outstanding Retirement Residence, top quality care, support, services and exceptional staff.

29 May 2019 20:09
Martha's Landing in Burlington is a lovely hotel quality facility staffed with people who feel like family. My aunt has been there since 2008 (so 10+ years) and she loves it there. Everyone seems to love her and treat her like family. The facility is on the smaller side compared to a lot of places, which allows people to get to know each other. There are all kinds of scheduled activities and they are very open to trying other things or inviting new vendors to come in for the shopping variety of the residents. They have a small outdoors courtyard for the summer to sit in, plant a vegetable garden (as well as eat the produce at their meals!) and have regular scheduled outings for scenic tours in the off-season to mix things up. Any complaints we have (as the family) usually stem from Chartwell corporate dictates: a change from linen tablecloths and napkins to plastic placemats and paper napkins, for example. The meal menus are corporate dictated and not always suitable (pancakes and sausage for lunch? How about a casserole once in a while? A roast every Sunday?) for people who are over 80 this is how they ate at home and how they expect to eat at their new home. The budget amount for staff is an issue (they always seem chronically short of housekeeping staff and kitchen help). Again, corporate policy says taking the sign for "Today is. " off the front counter because it's cluttered and doesn't conform to the new corporate "clean" policy - in spite of the fact that a majority of people who live there have some form of memory issue and depend on it being there - is counter-intuitive to how elderly people operate, and shows how corporate doesn't understand how things work for elderly people. All-in-all, we are highly impressed with Martha's Landing and believe the Director, Tamra is exceptional and the main staff we see - Jocelyn, Dru, Stephanie, Amanda, Eva, Vicki, Eileen, Derek, Peter, Kelly, and anyone we forgot (sorry!) are terrific!

My mother has lived here for 10 months. We looked at several residences and have come to really appreciate the close knit and friendly staff. Knowledgable and accommodating to the varying needs of my mother and the other residents.

My mother was still living-but at this time was the victim of Alzheimer's and in an institution where she could receive more care.

My dad-already 88 years old-was now living alone in a two story house. He had taught himself how to make cheese bread, but he did not know much more about cooking. How he lived as long as he had on Stauffer's frozen dinners except for the one day a week when I prepared a meal for him, still amazes me.

Fortunately, in August of that year, I didn't have a hard time convincing him that it was time to move into a retirement home. Most fortunately, I chose Martha's Landing! I was something like 63 then and I went one day for a free lunch.

My dad was not that much of a "mixer"; He wasn't a card or bingo player. However, he cared about the other men at his dining room table. He made a few new friends of both men and women. He made and took an interest in Martha's staff, who became friends! The meal were good! The first ten years were good! The last two were a struggle.

There were outings (he only went once). I went on a Martha's Landing trip with my wife. And not everyone can say "I've been to Paris! "

I credit Martha's Landing for extending Dad's life!

My mother got 5 Star service while at Martha's Landing until she passed away from Old Age in her 90's. All aspects of her stay there including the location is very good.

What was far and above any other Retirement Facility in Burlington is the Level of Health and Medical Care as you get older. You forget that they continually need more and more Services as they Age in Place. My mother had a special diet which they monitored for her and provided her with her daily medication to keep her on schedule.

The Staff are Accessible and Accommodating. You can contact the General Manager, the Wellness Nurse or any of the PSW's and they know Your Resident and can either deal with your issues right away or get someone to deal with it ASAP. We are considering registering my Mother-in-Law at Martha's Landing when the time comes.for those same reasons noted above.

Martha’s Landing is an excellent place to work and live. I have been both a student and a guest attendant here over the last couple of years and the atmosphere is very positive and welcoming. It’s a smaller community that allows relationships to be built with the residents and other coworkers. I can’t express how welcome I feel working here and would recommend it to anyone!

An outstanding retirement home in a convenient location overlooking Lake Ontario. With convenience, privacy and caring staff members Marthas is a lovely place to live. Full of love, laughter and comfort. Everyone says, "It's just like home. " And it is! As a musical entertainer, I have performed and visited many residences. Marthas Landing is TOPS.

The Angels of Martha's landing. My 95 year old blind mother has been a resident at Martha's landing for nearly 17 years. All of this time, Tamra, Jocelyn and the rest of the "angels", both male and female, have provided over the top service allowing my mother to feel like she is at home because she truly IS at home. Not to mention giving me and my family peace of mind knowing my mother is so well cared for. I simply cannot say enough about the pure professionalism, care and yes love proven every day by the staff at this exemplary residence.
26 April 2019 2:04
Some of the kindest people I have ever met. Whenever I go there I always have the most fun. They really work hard to ensure every resident is well taken care and all their needs are met. They have fun and interactive activities for residents which they really enjoy. I would recommend Martha's to anyone.

Great location, nicely furnished homey feeling, but most of all terrific staff! My mom has been living here for four years plus and feels very much at home. Everyone that works here greets you with a smile and there is not enough they can do for you. Case in point. I took ill last week and dropped in as I could not drive any further. They treated me as if I was their own.above and beyond. Thank you. I recommend.

Martha’s Landing has been looking after my mother for about 15 years. She is blind, can hardly hear and needs a walker. She’s 95. A few years back she had major heart surgery. I live outside New York and my sister lives in Vancouver so we can’t come by at the drop of a hat. This means that the full load falls asymmetrically on our brother and his wife who are crazy attentive to everything that must be done. The pillar supporting this asymmetry is Tamra Belontz and her team. I would be hard pressed to dream up a single complaint about them. Whenever you encounter a team member—at the reception, in the dining room or delivering pills to Mom—they are all delightful, professional and supportive. I always return to NY feeling that Mom is in the best possible place. And, whenever possible, in front of Tamra, I tell the team how valuable they are.

I have worked here at Martha's Landing for over 8 years. We have an amazing team which makes it an amazing work environment. The home is filled with great staff, all with the goal of providing happier, healthier, more fulfilling life experiences for our residents. Being able to get to know and care for our wonderful residents makes working here truly rewarding. Martha's Landing has a very family oriented feeling, it is my second home.
16 April 2019 8:24
My wife has worked at Martha’s Landing for many years. For the past 8 years in December I have dedicate my time to help with their resident and family’s Annual Christmas Party. This is truly amazing experience I get to share with the residents, families and employees of Martha’s Landing. This is a day that needs to be seen with your own eyes. For that day this cozy home is filled with over 250 residents and families. There is music, entertainment, amazing food, smiles, laughter and the true feeling of love and family. I feel truly blessed to be involved and I always am made to feel as I am one of the family. I get to be involved in this amazing environment for the day but this is a much greater understanding of what my wife gets to be involved with everyday.
