Chartwell Oak Park Terrace Retirement Residence

Asking families of residents to give a 5 star review for a prize is extremely unethical and makes me question the care my family member is receiving there. You EARN a 5 star review, you don't ask for it in exchange for compensation. Instead of buying votes, why not focus you attention on the residents who are complaining that your "Summer Kitchen" is NOT providing enough to eat, enough options and cold sandwiches are NOT ok. We pay over $5000 A MONTH for this poor service? Get your act together and focus on what your PAID to do - resident care and living satisfaction with Chartwell. STOP BUYING 5 STAR REVIEWS. Clearly the reviews are FAKE.

Oak Park Terrace has been my mom's home now for more than a year. She enjoys her bright, sunny room with a sliding door onto her patio. The staff of personal service workers (PSWs), dining room servers, housekeeping workers, and front desk managers are very helpful and friendly. They provide quick help with any questions and always have a smile to make my mom feel at home.

Oak Park Terrace is a retirement residence with caring staff and a warm and friendly community. My mom chose it, and I helped her move in. Connie Filice helped us with every detail of selecting the suite, preparing for move-in, referrals for a moving company (OneSource), and so much more. She was our anchor in the whole process and introduced us to other staff members (Cheryl, Cynthia, Doris, Tina, Brenda, Bob, and more). We felt at home on the first day as residents, staff, and visitors were all very friendly. Connie is a wealth of information on moving to Oak Park Terrace and the Chartwell family of retirement residences. I highly recommend Oak Park Terrace, and you'll love working with Connie.

My mom and I reviewed the Calendar of activities for October, the variety is fantastic! We are pleased but not surprised. Theresa and the team consistently plan activities for the mind, body and spirit. My mom thoroughly enjoys the lifestyle choices she has at Chartwell Oak Park Terrace. Keep up the good work.

I would like to thank the staff at Chartwell Oak Park Windsor for hosting a wonderful birthday party for my mother in law yesterday. Truly a joyous event for her 100th! It was lovely to see the staff enjoy the party along with the residents! So well organized, made it a family event. Easy to witness how the residents are well cared for. Thanks to all of you

My grandma moved here about 1 month ago from 4 hours away and she was very nervous to move to a “big city” after living somewhere so small for her entire life. Everyone here has been so helpful and welcoming to her and she constantly tells me how much she loves it. She says the food is amazing and she loves to do the exercise classes in the mornings and play bingo on Mondays and Fridays. There are so many activities she can participate in and day trips she can go on if she chooses. She also says all the residents are very nice and everyone says hi to one another. Overall, she is extremely happy here and I feel great knowing she’s somewhere that’s safe and the staff care about her.

Staff are so friendly and courteous. My mom had a difficult transition and everyone at Oak Park made her feel so welcome. It's a beautiful place to call home.

It became necessary for my mother, at age 94, to leave her home and move to a retirement residence. The decision was made to move to Oak Park Terrace where she was able to move into a two room suite. My mother was a very independent person and had some reservations about moving to Chartwell. She soon found that the residence was very much to her liking.

Oak Park Terrace provided the extra help that she needed to carry-on her lifestyle. It was very much like living in a resort. Excellent meals were provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A small café area allowed her to grab a tea or a coffee and a small snack whenever she wanted. There was a daily light cleaning service and a weekly full clean of her suite along with weekly laundry service. Daily activities were held such as bingos, light exercises, occasional excursions, and the odd socials (wine and cheeses, special day events). The spacious lobby area provided a place to sit and interact with the other residents.

As mom started to require more care, it was provided by Chartwell. There was a nurse on call and PSWs to provide care when called upon. In the latter part of her stay there, we could not have asked for better care.

All in all it was a good choice to have my mother stay at Chartwell Oak Park Terrace. She enjoyed her independence while she was there and as she declined the staff at Chartwell made the transition easier. We could not speak more highly of this retirement residence.

We were in need of a short term stay for my 93 year old dad for us to take a five week respite. My research with friends and online recommendations lead me to Chartwell Oak Park Terrace. From the first phone call with Connie to the first visit and to the day we picked dad up after his five week stay, the experience for my dad and my family was spectacular.
The residence is one floor, the food was consistently good and the staff made my dad feel at home. The facility is CLEAN and well maintained and visitor procedures gave us confidence that dad would be as safe as being home.
My dad is looking forward to his next stay when we schedule our next vacation and when he is ready for a retirement home, Oak Park will be his new home.
