Recently moved my parents into the townhouse complex connected to the Chartwell Riverside community. They were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the complex and the excellent amenities. In particular, the staff, including Elaine in the office, Kerri the general manager, and frontline staff like Jacquie (PSW), and Esteban (food services) went out of their way to welcome, recognize and make comfortable my parents in their new community. I would unhesitatingly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a new place to live in London.

My parents moved into the Royalcliffe in London, from North Bay Ontario in August. It has been quite a transition especially for my dad who has lived his whole life in North Bay until this move. As a healthcare provider I have high expectations for professional communication and a kind and caring approach. The Royalcliffe has been incredible from the very beginning of my parent's retirement home search. Prior to the move in the managers, Julie and Melanie, answered all of our questions and addressed any of our concerns promptly. Sheby, the manager of health and wellness, supported us prior to the move by returning my calls regarding getting my parents set up with health care in a new city. I knew from the beginning that my parents had chosen the right place. During the move-in I was astonished to find that any staff that we came in contact with were all so kind, positive and patient with the guidance of my folks (and family) as my parents settled in. Ava came in twice to check on my parents, once for baseline and once because she heard from my dad that my mom was feeling off. I cannot begin to express the gratitude I have and the 'peace of mind' we have knowing our parents are being looked after by such caring staff. My parents are happy and feeling supported. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Royalcliffe!

The staff, nurses, and management at Chartwell Royalcliffe are outstanding. They truly care about my parents. The food is very good, the services, like the hair salon, are great, and the activities are well thought out. The nursing staff are experienced and truly caring. The apartments are good quality and well laid out. My mom recently encountered a very emotional personal experience and the entire Chartwell Royalcliffe team, especially the general manager Sarah Eisenbraun, were incredibly and genuinely supportive. I would highly recommend Chartwell Royalcliffe to anyone seeking assisted living.

If only there was zero stars!
We moved my sister into Chartwell Royalcliffe on Wednesday August 23,2023. We had high hopes for this new chapter in her life. Unfortunately it was short lived as she died that night.
Her granddaughter found her after 2pm on Friday. It was very distressing to try and give CPR only to be greeted with a smell that told her she was gone and had been for quite a while. The coroner informed her daughter she had been gone for 36 hours!
Where was the care during that time? If her granddaughter had been unable to come when would she have been discovered? The staff stated they did check and thought she was sleeping. Should they not have at least made sure she was breathing? No one had talked to her in the 36 hours she was in this facility! She did not go down for supper on Thursday and as a known diabetic should her numbers have not been checked during that 36 hours?
Her granddaughter has to deal with this trauma for the rest of her life and in my opinion should have counselling and I don’t feel she should have to bear the financial burden of this!
These are just some of my concerns at this moment. I’m sure there will be more as time goes on.

My mom has been a resident at Chartwell Royalcliffe for the past 4 years and I cannot begin to express my full appreciation for Sarah and the entire team. I am so grateful my mom and I chose Chartwell as her residence.
Prior to my mom moving in, I was extremely concerned for her safety and overall health living alone. Thankfully, she was able to secure a beautiful 1 bed +den unit prior to the pandemic. She is able to maintain her own independence, and as she ages, services are being adjusted to suit her own needs. My mom has managed to improve her overall health through a healthy diet, regular routine within a very friendly, safe and social environment.
The staff at Royalcliffe are what makes this residence 5 stars. The PSWs are above and beyond caring, thoughtful, skilled and extremely patient! They know my mom's routines, her health challenges/changes and her overall likes and dislikes. The building is well maintained and provides residences with numerous high end amenities and social activities to chose from. The event calendar meets the needs of every interest, including group outings, live entertainment, pop-up shopping, and holiday themed events. The meals are plentiful, healthy, carefully planned and can accommodate dietary needs with optional selections.
Any concerns I've had over the years about my mom's overall health or needs, were addressed immediately and personally by the General Manager, Sarah Eisenbraun. It is evident she is so proud of the team. She is consistent with her internal communication, and passes information onto families promptly. Even when I am most nervous to discuss what the future holds for our aging loved ones, Sarah always takes the time to make me feel at ease by providing a professional and caring perspective.
The pandemic was a great challenge, and I am so pleased with how safely the entire staff maintained public health direction and kept the residences' spirits up for so long. I'd be happy to provide a reference to any families considering this retirement residence.

Fabulous in every way. Sarah, Tom and the team never cease to amaze me. Most warm inviting environment you could ever ask for. Always clean, cheerful staff, fantastic food. I’d give six out of five stars if I could! Consistently the best in the city!

Royalcliffe is a beautiful senior residence and kept in great condition. The rooms are very spacious having full kitchens and 1,1.5 or 2 bedroom options. The site is well equipped, pool, library, games room with pool tables, etc.movie theatre…. Always activities going on or musical venues to keep everyone busy. They schedule many bus tours for shopping or to see theatre venues. The food options are also good and residents get choices.
My mother lived here for 5 years and enjoyed the place but most importantly the people. The staff all take great pride in keeping the residents busy and happy. Sarah E and her team did a fantastic job! Thank you to all.

I have been the hairdresser at the Chartwell Royalcliffe for almost 3 years. I can't say enough good things about this home. The staff are great and the residents are amazing. I truly love my job and being in this home everyday.
