Chartwell St. Clair Beach Retirement Residence

It will not be exaggerated when we say that we were pleasantly
surprised and impressed.
The location on the waterfront of Lake St. Clair, the beautifully
manicured grounds and equally well designed indoors gave us
a feeling as if we were entering a 5 star resort.
The friendly staff and Melissa, our guide was pleasant and knowlegeable. Answered all our questions and showed us
all the amenities that are included for retirement living.
We are glad we took the tour and would definitely consider
the move when the time comes.

Excellent and extremely professional retirement residence. The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to assist residents and provide a personal experience. The facility is more comparable to a resort, but with better service. They genuinely care about the people staying there. We were under extreme stress when the hospital kicked out my father on Easter Sunday, and we only had a few hours to make other arrangements. We needed a respite room for his post surgery care and Chartwell St. Clair Beach came to the rescue. Melissa was an absolute pleasure to deal with and assisted us throughout the whole process. I still can't believe she called me on Easter Sunday to see how my dad was doing and if we were ok. This is an excellent facility and I would recommend to anyone.

Had lunch here today as a guest. Not only was the meal fresh and delicious but the room, table setting and presentation of the food was very high quality and beautiful. I felt like I was in a 5 star restaurant. Our server Keisha was very friendly. I felt like I wanted to leave her a tip. Extremely happy with everything. The portions were a decent size. A few guests at my table took half the meal home for dinner. Kudos to the chef. Thank you, Janice.

Management is NOT GOOD.
Theft that they try to hush, services they promise then take away, residents treated with disrespect, they don’t want staff being kind or interacting with the residents,
Short staffed! Having staff to jobs they are not qualified for,
Food quality has gone downhill, and it isn’t clean.

My mother has lived here since they opened in in 2013 approximately. Everything has changed and not for the positive.
She is 90 and had lived here for 10 years she should have to move when Management could be changed.

Oh and btw. Prices still go up every year and services plummet.

Yesterday, along with the other members of our Windsor/Essex Chapter 7 of CARP, I enjoyed a delicious lunch of a crispy chicken wrap with black olives & fries along with a scrumptious mandarin moose. I also enjoyed your fresh coffee. I extend my thanks to all involved in making our luncheon meeting a fine success!

My husband and I have performed at Chartwell and we have nothing but positive things to say. From the moment you walk in, it feels very homey. It exceeds expectations for cleanliness and the staff were very friendly and inviting! The residents were smiling and engaging and overall seemed very happy to be apart of our music.

I have been working with Chartwell St Clair Beach for many years. This is a great facility with caring staff who are very supportive of both their residents and the community. All of my friends who have relatives living there have nothing but great things to say.

I am very grateful for the compassion and care that all the people at Chartwell St. Clair Beach have shown for my mother these last four years. She has always been treated with respect and care by the staff, the nurses, and everyone who works there. My mother, Marie, had the pleasure of living at Chartwell St. Clair Beach Retirement Home. She absolutely loved it there! She would say “it’s a cruise ship with a nurse on the other side of the door! ”
As a family member, my sister and I were comforted knowing that she was in the best possible place for her to thrive. She loved the excellent food, caring staff, comfortable living arrangements, beautiful park and scenery, the numerous friendships she made, daily homemade cookies, exciting excursions to apple orchards or the casino (to name a few) and her favourite: playing euchre or pepper with the gang.
Unfortunately, my mom is no longer here. However, My family and I know that she was well taken care of and flourished at this facility.
Well done Chartwell! And thank you for taking such great care of our mother.

I recently had family here to visit me and they both raved about how beautiful it is here and are happy I am in such a great facility.
I love it here, the staff are all excellent. Very friendly and caring and most of all helpful. Best decision I ever made was coming here. Sometimes there may be a day where I don't like what is on the menu but there are other options I can choose from and I am happy with that.

Wonderful staff, second to none. Friendly, accommodating, go out of their way for residents and family members. Meals are mostly delicious but do tend to be somewhat repetitive. Too many sandwiches at lunchtime. Nice selection at breakfast: always lots of fresh fruit and a variety of b'fast fare. Hot beverages and snacks offered throughout the day. Many activities with the exception of during outbreaks. The manager, unfortunately, does not always follow through as per discussions but management personnel, overall, are terrific.

Not only is this a great place to live, it’s a great place to work! I’ve never met a friendly staff and team. Everybody works hard for the residents of the home and each other, and that makes for a warm community that is second to none.

The staff at St. Clair Beach Retirement Home deserve top marks for friendliness and willingness to try and accommodate your every need. The Chef is A1, all meals being exceptional. There are always lots of fresh fruit, coffee, tea and desserts out for snacking. You will want for nothing. Not only are the gardens on the grounds well tended and beautiful but you have a well maintained park next door where you can enjoy the sunsets over the lake or your grandchildren can enjoy the sandy beach. The location is perfect with even the town bus coming every hour to take you to Tecumseh Mall or Devonshire Mall. Health care professionals are on hand if need be including housekeeping. We were also able to keep our pets with us which was a real plus for them and us. I would highly recommend the St. Clair Beach Retirement Home if you are looking for a safe, comfortable and friendly place to retire.

This is like going on a cruise that you never have to leave land. Surrounded by water and stunning views St Clair Beach Retirement Community is just that.a community. Friendly, helpful, homey and comfortable in every aspect. My active grandmother is turning 93 this year and after a health set back she is ready to retire her condo and move into this beautiful state of the art facility with all the comforts of home and activities that will keep her active without all the "work" of cooking and cleaning. The food is amazingly delicious and I can't wait to sample more. This is not your average retirement home but rather a home away from home that feels like a vacation spot! Truly heavenly! Thank you Sherry and staff for all your time, help and smiles! It was a wonderful start to a great next chapter for my "Gramma".
