Wow! First time going to chatters and i am in loooove with my cut.the salon had an amazing vibe.thank you carrie for your friendliness and talent!

I recently moved to Kingston and I was looking for a place that could fix my hair. I am so happy I found Chatters! I had a great experience! The lady that answered the phone was super nice and understanding. Tamara did a great job fixing my color and cutting my hair. I am very pleased with the service, the staff is great and caring. I will be going back for sure. Highly recommend the place!

The gal that helped us was amazing. I wish I knew her name because I'd give her 10 stars. She way outshone the rest and the staff here are really nice and helpful, typically.

Please don’t go to this place …. Last Tuesday she did the keratin (she spend over 480$) …let the public know what is your explanation….

I enjoyed Chatters a lot! Carrie R.cut beautiful side layers and styled them in a chic and glamorous way. Also she recommended me an amazing treatment to hydrate and improve my hair. Love it!

I always go here for my hair care products! Great staff and I can often get my products during a sale! I’ve also got my haircut there and I was very happy with how it turned out. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Service was ok but overpriced for lots of services. Adding extra treatments without notifying me first. Took me over $300 for highlights and cut. (Shoulder length) Anyway…. Will not go back again.

I have been using Chatters for the last year now and have never had a bad experience. Tamara is my hairstylist and colourist and has never once disappointed me. I usually get a mixture of highlights and lowlights, the colours she picks are extraordinary and very complementary. Tamara always exceeds my hair dreams, she has made my hair so much healthier, shinier, softer and overall in a much better condition. Tamara is exceptionally professionally, has a heart of a gold, and is one of the sweetest women I have ever met. I always know I’m in the best hands with her! I could not recommend Tamara’s work more to anyone hoping to achieve their hair goals

I wasn't going to write a review but the more I look at my hair the more I'm disappointed. I came into the salon with outgrown hair that needed TLC. It was dry. I didnt do much with my hair cause of covid. Needless to say I paid close to $500. I called and spoke with staff as I have so much breakage and now a crazy amount of flyaways. The stylist teased my hair that had bleach on the ends, and when brushing the teased spots out she was so rough with my hair, not to mention my hair was dry. When hair is dry its brittle to begin with.

The only solutions the staff member gave me was to do a free oil treatment on my hair. A few things.hair grows about an inch a month. It's going to take me years to repair and grow the flyaways back as my hair is down to the middle of my back.

When doing a consultation it's important to take into factor what your clients hair can handle.

Returns were difficult. Annoying that I had to explain myself to the cashier so I could get my refund. By the end of the conversation I just had to tell her I wasn’t interested in the product, I was annoyed with how much time it was taking just to explain WHY I DIDNT want the product.

Prices are extremely gouged, buy online.

Had oloplex treatment. Was to be around 40ish dollars. Once checked out I was charged 103.00
Not impressed. Was not informed of any extra charges.

Can’t even get an appointment with them, I’ve called on 5 different occasions trying to get an appointment over the past few months and not a single answer or I’ve been hung up on. My boyfriend had a hair appointment there one time and they cancelled after already waiting 20 minutes to get into his appointment. So unorganized or they just don’t care.

Myself and my daughter used this salon in the fall of 2021 and received great service. However, return we recently tried to return and we’re faced with having to cancel our appointment due to poor time management. We had an appointment scheduled and arrived 20 minutes early (yes I know it’s early but my child is 5) and we were told they were on time and our appointment would go as scheduled. We later arrived 5 minutes before our appointment and we’re told they were 30 minutes behind schedule. I was terribly upset over this as we arrived early to avoid this. At this time it is hard to say is we will return. 20 - 30 minutes behind the attitude of staff was not welcoming and no compensation was given.

Carrie was extremely accomodating and fit in our daughter after another stylist at the salon cancelled our appointment. She was friendly and skilled in cutting our family's hair. Thanks!

My hairdresser I had was Kayla L and her Instagram is @hairbykaayla.

She was very helpful and very informative on what hair cut suits you personally. She communicated with me the whole time she was cutting my hair and explaining everything she was doing! She’s so kind and the experience I had was wonderful. We talked for a good five minutes on what I expected my hair to look like at the end of the appointment and then we got started with shampooing and conditioning.

After she shampooed and conditioned my hair, my hair felt really soft and well scrubbed, she also gives great head massages. We then proceeded to blow dry my hair which only took 15-20 minutes and then she started to cut my hair and this is when she was very communicative throughout the whole process, making sure I was comfortable with every cut she made. The whole appointment only took about 45 minutes - 1 hour.

There were many appointments that have not been booked yet considering I booked my appointment on March 1 in the afternoon and was able to get an appointment for Wednesday, March 2 anytime of the day.

I am very pleased with the outcome of my hair and it feels so much healthier and soft and it looks much better as I was in desperate need of a change.

For context: A week prior to my appointment at Chatters in Kingston I was a platinum blonde, trying to go back to a nice natural, rich brown. I went to a hairstylist in Ottawa who absolutely butchered my hair. It was fried and an ugly grey and dark black mix with these white streaks.

When I called the salon, Amber, the manager, was extremely charismatic, sympathetic, and eager to help. She went out of her way to reorganize the her day so that Carrie, a senior stylist, could fit me in ASAP to fix the awful mess that was my hair.

When I got there, Carrie gave me a consult and told me she would fix it. During the service she was so fun to talk to and was very particular with her work. She took her time fixing it to make sure that the finished results were what I had asked for.

Needless to say, when it was all said and done I was absolutely blown away! During the consult, I showed her an inspiration picture of what I was looking for knowing that I would end up with only something similar to the picture. When she revealed the finished results. I was speechless.

She LITERALLY took what was in the inspiration picture and put it on my head. She started off with a completely destroyed mess (of someone elses doing) and gave me exactly what I wanted. Now, every time I need to get my hair done, I will happily drive the two hours from Ottawa (where I live) to Kingston.

In Conclusion: The experience was great, the people were great, and most importantly, the finished results were absolutely perfect.

Jess made me feel so comfortable and valued as a human being. I was having a hard day and she was absolutely the light I needed in that moment. I've since been back twice and I've been happy everytime with the care she takes, and always maintaining the integrity of my hair above any hair goals I may have. We always get there, but safely.

Would totally recommend this salon. Today was my second time here for a haircut and just loved the customer service. Jessica was extremely nice and sweet. She listened to me patiently and did an amazing job. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair to be and the end result was exactly the same. Amazing staff and everything was sanitised!

The lady that did my hair, she had a mask and shield on.
She did a wonderful job on my hair.
It was quite long, I had wanted short, she did what I wanted.
It was ruffly a year ago sence it was cut.

Brought my 5 year old son here for a trim. It took 10-12 minutes and a lot of the cuts weren’t even. It was not very nice. They charged me $27!

They were very good with piercing my daughters ears. Talked her through each little step and made sure she was comfortable.

Carrie did an absolutely amazing hair colour for myself and my daughter! Definitely recommend! My hair has not felt so healthy and looked so amazing in so long and she took special care with my daughter's hair so it was soft and absolutely lovely when done! Sweet personality and amazing staff! Well worth it and thank you so much!

I have never been so unhappy with a hair cut. It took 15 minutes and cost $64.00. Not happy. Will never return!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE - On January 13,2020 I called Chatters for a Hair Color Correction. I was scheduled in with Carrie Rodriguez a Stylist at Chatters that was known as a Color Specialist. My hair was fragile as it had a recent color and it was cut very short. I was hesitant and nervous about loosing my hair. Carrie was knowledgeable, professional and very kind. She made me feel comfortable and I trusted her abilities. My hair turned out beautiful. I have never had such a brilliant, shiny, healthy looking color.
Carrie did a fabulous job! I am grateful that I had the opportunity to meet her

I have been having Janet work with my crazy hair for 10 plus years now, she has over 35 years in the business and I am pretty sure she has seen it all. I look forward to seeing her every 4 weeks not only because she works magic and makes me feel 10 years younger, but also her smiling face and contagious laugh are a bright spot in this crazy world where so many people have lost what it means to provide good customer service. Keep up the good work!

I took my 13 year old daughter to Chatters and had Paula give her highlights with shadow root. Paula has over 20 years experience in the hair industry and it shows! My daughter is very picky about her hair and now says Paula is the only person allowed to touch it. If you are considering going to Chatters ask for her, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you for your time and knowledge Paula, we will definitely be back!

Just got my hair cut highlighted and coloured by Geoff and I absolutely love it. He always does a great cut on me. I trust him and will be back. Love feeling like a new woman:)!

Normally I have great experiences shopping here, however, tonight there were 5+ people working and only 1 person could operate the till. I picked out my product, took it to the cash, and was told by an employee that she couldn’t help me, but someone would be right with me and she walks to the staff only room. I waited and waited and waited and no one ever came. The same employee comes back out of the staff only room and looks very confused as why I’m still standing there.then 3 other employees come over and all say “sorry, we don’t know how to use the till. ” I’m curious why an employer would allow their staff to be that inexperienced. I’d hate to see what it would have been like had they been busy ‍️

AT the Cat Centre location, my stylist is Paula B. I think she is an awesome addition to your team. She is professional and personable and a fantastic stylist. I enjoy being her client and am always happy with the service. Thank you, Paula!

Pierre Rahbe is the best hair stylist I have had yet, truly gave me the best customer service.

I have never had a bad experience here. The people here listen to what I say and actually give me an answer if I ask them if I should do x thing with my hair. The prices are also pretty good as well!

Jade was fantastic! I usually dread getting a haircut, especially as I haven't had shorter hair in years. It turned out great though. She was very nice and I love the haircut.

Jess is the MOST AMAZING hair stylist and colorist. I wanted a drastic, modern change to my hair and it’s been amazing. The best change I could had hoped for! So many compliments! She really knows her stuff, and took the time to explain every step along the way, over multiple visits to get to the new color and fun haircut.
She has helped me with various styling products. So knowledgeable. My three daughters have all been to Jess, and absolutely LOVE her. All have had hair cuts and special style appointments for special occasions. Jess makes getting our hair done a treat! Worth every minute we spend with Jess. If you go to this salon, ask for Jess, you will never be dissatisfied EVER!

I asked for 2 inches cut off my hair and she cut of 4, my hair is too short, not to mention that when my hair is naturally curly it will be even shorter

Jessica is a fantastic stylist! I am not sure about the inconsistent reviews I see here, but I definitely enjoyed my experience in this salon.

Been here twice: once for my hair and yesterday to buy product. Very rude and condescending staff on both visits (a lot of gossiping during the hair visit). The one stylist exploded over us asking for a different hair treatment product than the one she was recommending. She was screaming and literally physically shaking during the very short exchange (we did not engage once she exploded, which was almost immediately, and simply just walked away so it wouldn't escalate the situation). All because we were asked for the treatment cap that she herself recommended to me when she did my hair previously. The majority of her screaming was about how she was a stylist and knew more than us and very condescending. Regardless of what happened before (someone else saying something that had put her on edge or stress at work) this is unprofessional behaviour. I wasn't too upset by it and just laughed even in the moment over it because it was such an out of this world over reaction, thus quite hilarious. However, it's also not very professional and other customers may indeed find that upsetting so buyer beware.

I went in with my sister looking for a good treatment to hydrate my hair. Usually when I go into this store the staff all ignore me gossiping to each other about clients and other staff which I find super unprofessional but that's not what happened this time. I was pleasantly surprised one of the stylist asked if I needed help and I asked for a treatment. My sister had her hair cut and styled by this lady before and she had said there was a treatment that was the best and my sister was looking for it. The problem came when the stylist told me that a different product was the best and my sister said that not the one you told me was the best the best is the one with the gold cap. The stylist got so mad she started shaking and yelled at my sister and I that she was a certified stylist and she knew what she was talking about. My sister and I just turned around and walked out it was so unprofessional and shocking. I looked behind me I could she the stylist walking to the back of the store and could still see her shaking with anger. Crazy I know! I ended up getting a product from one of the salons upstairs and i would recommend anyone else do the same avoid these people like the plaque!
