Chauhan's Fine Indian Cuisine & Banquet

Yesterday we had a Holi event of around 200 people at Chauhan’s grill and banquet hall and had the bestest experience of life- From the price to the food everything was excellent. He served non stop buffet without any interruption and waiting. His Saag meat, Tandoori chicken and butter chicken were out of the world and even vegetarian and Chinese dishes were mouth watering. The guests went home happy and contended and had praises for Amar Chauhan since he served hot and sufficient food. Good job Amar Chauhan ji. We are an organization and throw parties from time to time. We have now decided to give our business only to Chauhan ji in future. Only he can give you the reasonable deal with so much food.

We ordered food for Birthday party. The foods were delivered on time. Foods were delicious.

This place is great; but this is more a COVID times review - the takeout experience.

Food on the whole was very good - and well packaged. We ordered via Uber Eats, so the prices were probably a bit more than walking right in, but we bought during a promotion and did pickup, so we probably saved a few bucks.

We had an appetizer mix platter, a few meat skewers, garlic naan and butter chicken.

The pakoras were a bit on the salty side, but everything else was pretty good. The samosa seemed familiar, not sure if they make these themselves. Same goes for the naan - oddly familiar in size, shape and texture; reminds me a lot of a popular franchise we frequent in the 7 & 404 area - guessing they get them from the same distributor. As opposed to say, a place just down the street from here, where you get the sense they probably make their own in the tandoori oven.

The meats were fantastic! Well seasoned, cooked well, juicy.no complaints at all.

The butter chicken was good, not as creamy or sweet as some others, but nicely seasoned, and just the slightest amount of heat. I'd happily order from here again - especially the meat skewers - so good!

Attended a party here a few weeks ago. Adequate service/atmosphere. Food was absolutely terrible. Food was SUPER oily and watered down and had no flavour. People barely ate. You could see the oil floating at the top. Drinks were just ice. Some plates/cups and utensils were also dirty.

We booked this place in advance for our event and we came to know that he gave the hall to different person just because they had more guests. He didn’t even have courtesy to inform about it and we came to know just 2 days before. Such a greedy person, no ethics and mismanagement.went there to get our deposit and he made us wait for 30mins. I strongly suggest everyone not to go to this place if you want your event to be successful. Worst customer service and management.

The place is beautiful, service is good, the food is delicious, the place has a friendly environment…. I will recommend this place to everyone

Absolutely DO NOT BOOK HERE if you respect your time. No level of professionalism or honestly - we booked way in advance for a baby shower happening for 80 people and PAID A DEPOSIT for Sunday October 16th but 3 days ago the owner BOOKED ANOTHER PARTY on the same date, and cancelled our booking with no cause despite us putting in our deposit. Claimed he "forgot" but in reality it was since it was a bigger party of people = more money for them. The owner is extremely cunning and started saying things like "do you want me to strangle myself" or "do you want to make this into a huge issue". Take your business someplace else, especially if you don't want to stress at the last minute to find another banquet hall for your event. 0 stars if I could.

Attended a friend's birthday party at Chauhan's. Must say the food was just superb and delicious. The smiling courteous staff was on toes with continous service and help. The location is very nice with ample of parking. A place to visit again.

I hosted a birthday party.
Pros: Food taste was good. Was Lucky to have good servers.
Cons: too many.
Appetizers I told to do a refill but they didn't and I felt embarrassed when guests couldn't find and I had to request 2 plate. They kept saying boss told snacks time is over.
Second when dinner was served and food was over, they kept filling the curry without mutton.
By 10 pm they started taking off the dining table cloths when guests were still seated and having food.
Please sir I don't want to list more but if we pay we expect good service. All the best.

We hosted a party at the banquet.
Food was awesome, everyone loved it. However below were our additional observations:
-Extremely poor service
-No food re-heating mechanism
-Strict timeline for food service (1 hour snacks > MANDATORY 1 HOUR GAP > 1 hour main course)
-Extremely poor service for non-alcoholic beverages
-Owner is rude and cunning (he will try his best to charge you extra or cut down on service)
-Owner accepted that they DO NOT use the same ingredients for dine in and delivery. Hence, if you plan to get the food delivered (claimed to be the best indian food), you may not get what you’re looking for.

P. S. I gave 3 stars because I was one of the lucky person in my party who had an opportunity to taste the warm food when it arrived (not everyone was lucky as me). I understand that there are bad and good days for everyone. Please see other reviews to know more about the food, service and owner personality.

Bad service, no bar service at event, owner refused to rearrange tables stating he's not a servant. Very unprofessional

Went there for a event recently. Terrible service, dirty bathrooms, lack of staff etc.

We asked for extra glasses and napkins on our table as there were only three on a table of 8. Was told my the waitress, ‘the owner said no. ’ I was very confused. Had never heard that from a dining establishment before.

Save your money, and book your events somewhere else. Your guests will thank you.

The best Indian veg and non veg food I have ever had in canada till now. We ordered chicken Angara tikka, paneer tikka in starter. Main course veg biryani, Hyderabad biryani, paneer lababdar, dhaba chicken and family naan in main course.never tasted such delicious food in Canada. Never had Paneer and chicken tikka like this. It was incredibly awesome. Other items also tasted so good. Such a good ambience. A must visit place for Indian cuisine food lovers.

This place also has an amazing banquet hall. With very fantastic space. Great arrangements, great food. Will recommend to all my friends.

A nice Indian banquet hall, authentic Indian cuisine, samosa, chana masala, boneless curry lamb & Chicken, tandoori chicken and naan, with gulab jamun & mango ice cream for dessert.

Five star for food as they are operating with only one server not blaming to server, but service are slow, so take your own time and visit, authentic taste with less oil, , it seems their actual business is banquet hall, restaurant is kind of side business,

I’ve been coming here with my family since I was a kid likely as early as 1998-99. The high-quality of food has remained the same along with the menu. Mr. Chauhan is one of the few owners I’ve seen who goes around and takes time to greet a few of his tables and guests even when it’s busy.

It’s always been such a pleasure coming to eat at this place. It’s one of the original jewels in Markham for Indian cuisine. Thank you for helping us celebrate our moments. ️

If i had an option for zero starts, i’d rather choose that. Placed and order over the phone yesterday and the person told us it would be a 35 mins wait time, that’s when we reached the location. There were 4-5 people at the same time waiting for their orders and there was an old guy at the reception who was going back and forth between the kitchen and counter to answer customers as he was unaware of almost everything. Upon waiting for a few mins, got the order after 1 hour and the guy who came in told me the total, i asked for receipt and he said it will be extra $15 for the RECEIPT. CAN ANYONE BELIEVE THIS? I wanted to argue but i was so tired after work and had people waiting at home for the food, so me and my friend decided to leave it there. Horrible experience and also, one of our order was chilli chicken, when i tell you it was nowhere near that, believe me. It was black in colour and didn’t even taste like chicken, wouldn’t eat it for free. Don’t visit this location if you want similar experience.

We have had many events held in this banquet hall. We were really well taken care of. Owner and staff are very nice and food is really good too.

By trusting reviews I went to this location, not only I wasted my money I wasted my time energy and health.

As per my order they prepared fresh samosa which was made by rotten potatoes.

Decent food but we expected better from "fine dining". The packing of the to go orders should be improved for sure as although I took utmost care, the gravies were floating in the plastic bag till I reached home. Tandoori chicken was good but the sarson saag was not good at all.

This is definitely one of the most pleasant place in the area. Every time I go there I am awfully glad. They hold their very high level service and the highest level of cooking they serve. You no doubt will love this restaurant. Very recommended.

Quality of food is hit or miss. Last year's Christmas party, food was much better than this year. This year the butter chicken was awful. Super disappointing!

Good place to have family time along with buffet. Little less price than near by restaurant. Full paisa vasul.

Service was non-existent. For an indian restaurant the food was bland and over priced. Better to go to a more authentic place down the street.

Two days ago was the first time we visited this restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the courteous service, with the first-rate cooking and wine and with the honest price. We will definitely visit there in a short time.

We met with friends at this spot for a meeting.my friend recommended this restaurant. Well, it was very successful. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this spot a lot and we will visit this place again. Keep it up.

When Nov 2019 I ordered $70 food, guess what in this all tandoori naan, makki di roti, all naan was hard and burnt out, couldn't tear up and no one ate those naan and roti we throughout I never ever going to order foodagain from here.

Ordered from UberEats: Chicken Dilliwala with nan + another nan bread. Chicken was okay but nan bread was burnt and chewy. The latter made it a bad experience with this restaurant as the bread had to be thrown away.

Love the place. Great food and service. Special mention to Palash, the manager. He helped us pick some really tasty dishes. Compared to so many other Indian restaurants in the vicinity, this place has really got some good choice. Must try.

Went for a wedding reception at the banquet hall. Food was sub-par, ambience was meh, nothing impressive to boast about. I wouldnt voluntarily go there again.

I adore this spot! They have sensational food, they have a nice menu, The cook in that place is a professional, I enjoy very much trying all their dishes. The food is always of high qualtity, the service towards the guests is efficient. I frequently visit this restaurant and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend it to all.

Terribly awful food. Ordered mutton curry and I couldn’t touch the second piece because of the raw smell of meat. I felt like I’m having direct flesh without cooking. I had to do a lot of things to remove that scary smell from my mouth. Also I asked to make it spicy but NO. It wasn’t spicy from any corner.
I asked if i can substitute the Naan to Rice and the lady said NO there will be extra charge to get Rice instead of Naan. Like seriously? Who the hell doesn’t know that Naan is used a substitute of Rice and there shouldn’t be any extra charge. Each and every other restaurant in town follow the same. Whatever I wasted my $11 bucks.
Also the Rice quantity they gave? A 5 years old kid eats more rice than what they gave to me. Highly disappointed.

I was craving for Indian food and hence headed to this place.

I ordered Veg platter with Samosa and the chutney was super tasty.

Then for the main course I ordered Saag and Naan which was delicious.

The ambience was beautiful.

Definitely recommended.

The food was amazing as off course it was prepared you Amer Chauhan. The hospitality service was the best as I could see one man show. There was a guy who was assume to look like manager called PALASH, who handled all the tables together and I could see good eye contact with all the customers. I went for buffet were it’s like self service but once I took my food I did not wake up again as everything was provided on the table. PALASH will be one of my reason to visit again with my friends.

I eat here a lot since I work close by. I got to say their service is always fantastic and they keep the place well kept regularly. Pricing is fair and they serve sizeable portions.

This is a very small but busy place. We are warmly welcomed at the front door.
Rice noodle soup is tasty but the soup is too salty to me.cake looks great and not too sweet which makes me happy.

This place is joke ordered 1st time and sent me real boiled rajma (kidney beans). Ordered next time on uber eats look at pic they sent me canned rajma lol u kno canned kidney beans.cheating! Be professional if you want to keep ur customer!

Ordered food from uber eats. They gave us 4 piece hariyali mirch tikka which was not even worth it the price we paid. It was not properly cooked even. Secondly we specially wrote in the instructions to give us mint chutney. But they forgot to put that even. Will not order again. Food is not good

I loved their Banquet hall. I celebrated my son's first bday there and everybody liked the hall and the food. Mr Chauhan and Pallash was always helpful and were very keen to make our occassion memorable.

They always ask to order all food at once so thats the only drawback, food is good and also offers the party hall. Good to see chef with all bollywood stars. Price is fairly decent so not a bad place to check this out if you are near by and looking for Indian food. Samosas were great.

I visited last evening here. Food was really Indian authentic taste. I would visit here again. Staff was friendly. Interior is good. Overall 5 star. Loved it.

Best Indian food in all of Toronto, I had my wedding reception here. Everyone still talks about it today! Extremely well priced. I am an addict for their Butter Chicken. I have recommended it to all of my friends, now we have been hooked since 2001. Be warned people. When you taste their butterchicken once, It will be on your mind, for the rest of your life!? SERIOUSLY! Awesome lunch buffet every day. Wicked on the weekends! YOU HAVE TO GO!

Food was Luke warm, chairs and tables were dirty, servers brought unfinished appetizers back into the kitchen. Would not recommend.

Good for a quick lunch buffet. Food quality is ok for a quick bite. Other issues are inconsistent service of naans on visits. Sometime's you get them within 5 minutes, sometimes you are forgotten. It's okay to be missed, since it is a buffet, and options of dry food; but most items are with gravy, and would be enjoyed best with the fresh naan. Possibly a good option to leave some naan in a tray to self-serve? Lacks this bit, without any compromise to reduce cost for their mistake.
