Great tasting cakes. Customers should know though that the 4.5in ones are big enough to serve 3 adults max (or 4-5 kids). Also that the cake needs to be thawed for a good 25-30 mins after purchase to have the right softness for consumption

Their limited edition Valentines cheesecake and other desserts are so tasty omg I still think about it
26 January 2023 12:20
I had a pickup order for their limited edition Deeroica Cake, My time to pick up was at 11- to 1PM. Showed up at 12 infront of the line, they got my order and I was told it would take 10 minutes. I said I will wait outside, it was busy inside and they said they will call me in 10 minutes. I wait outside for a whooping 45minutes before I go in and see they still havn't done it. I ask the person, and she just says "oh we will start now" I'm like why was I waiting outside when I showedup before everyone else? Now I don't know if this is racism or what; but I was the only Persian in a line of full Asian, but whatever it is. I will not be getting anything from cheese garden again. Again just a reminder; this was a PICKUP order.
25 January 2023 18:40
I had chosen the 1pm pick up time slot on an order that was placed 5 days in advance. I find it completely unacceptable that I was told to wait another 15 to 20 mins because the cakes are still being decorated, this effectively meant a 2pm pick up. There were also two other customers ahead of me who were waiting for their cakes as well, and I am third in line. I was offered no alternatives but to wait. Refund for the order was not available either because the order was placed online, the staff in the store did not take any initiative in taking down any of my information on my intention to request for a refund until I asked if I emailed and my word was going to be taken at face value. It felt very questionable whether I was actually going to get the refund. I also asked if there were other items available as a substitute, but only met with an answer that no other items were available at the same price point my only choice is to email for a refund.

There was also another walk in customer before me who tried to buy the deerioca cheesecake. He paid and everything and then was told it's a half an hour wait, and then was offered to wait or get a refund. I don't understand why they cannot be upfront about that.

I've also tried to purchase their cheesecake since the deerioca flavour was not available, but was told that would be a wait of an hour. This is the third time I've tried to buy a cheesecake from this store (all attempts are different time of day), I've never been able to successfully buy one.
24 January 2023 18:31
I got the new bubble tea cheese cake and I will have to say I am disappointed. I like the alley bubble tea and normal cheesecake, but this cheese cake is worse than the one I have in ayce buffet. There is no cheese taste at all. The cake part taste like stale Tim bits. The tapioca on cake is the worst idea of cake topping in the history of cake toppings. It is hard as rock.

Have returned, multiple times.

If you're ever in Toronto and need some Japanese style cheesecake - this is it. Skip uncle and come here instead.

A consistently high quality experience and product, with bright cheesecake flavours that won't leave you feeling too bloated or like you'll get diabetes. They're not the biggest, though each should serve 4.

Recommend the Matcha.

Takes AMEX. $23per cheesecake.
28 December 2022 23:57
Classic cheesecake to try. But the $20 double cheese and $9 flume cheese desserts are best avoided. Cheesecake can be spread over several days, or give a small piece to each of your friends. Because it's too sweet. If you eat too much, you feel nauseous.
22 December 2022 12:57
Had a tight schedule for a special day and ordered a couple days ahead for pick up. Cake was not ready and was told it would take over 50 minutes after scheduled pick up time to get the cake. Not sure if it was because my order coincided with a special they were running which their staff were not familiar/efficient with but the wait time was not acceptable. Be wary of this place for any critical events.
10 November 2022 12:57
We've come to Cheese Garden multiple times for their matcha double fromage cheesecake, uji matcha tiramisu and matcha latte. The service is good and the quality of the cheesecake and tiramisu is excellent. I would have given them 5 stars if they had options other than whole milk for their drinks and if they didn't stop serving drinks 30-60 mins before their store closes! They are the only cafe I have come across in all of Toronto that stops making lattes significantly before the closing of the store.
25 September 2022 11:48
Piatachio Latte is the best! Everything is delicious and the staff is knowledgeable, quick, helpful and Friendly 10/10
02 September 2022 18:42
The best Japanese Cheesecakes in North York, are made to perfection and they have promotions that make it worth it. Highly recommend the variety of desserts offered at this location. Decor is pleasant and inviting.
05 June 2022 20:21
We ordered the chocolate and matcha pudding cheesecake. I was a bit bummed compared to what the other reviews said. The cheesecakes came in plastic boxes, and the texture was not what I expected. It was very watery, spongey, and the flavor was a bit dull. I almost wonder if they were frozen or made elsewhere? The matcha lattes were good, but I would not get the pudding cheesecake again.
24 December 2021 12:25
Sad that they’re always sold out of what I want

But the cake is always fresh and good.

Love fromage cheesecake and pudding

It comes with how to eat the cake too so don’t worry

Nice packaging. 2 of these are about $30
It’s not bad cause with all the packaging and quality of the cake I guess it’s worth it ‍️

Definitely should give it a try
23 December 2021 13:13
Lined up long to get a 10$ off voucher. Minimum order of 25$. When the time came to use it, they started making all these rules on the spot about how we couldn't use it for drinks but only could only use it for 2 items (ok fine), but then said we wouldn't be able to pick up until the next day up until a week later and we weren't able to pick them up on separate days but had to pick them up all at once, and the list of rules goes on and on. We liked their cakes but wow, they are so stingy about everything. They wouldn't even charge us a dollar more so we can use the voucher, we had to buy another whole cake and we didn't need that much cake.

As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I can't endorse this place.
18 December 2021 0:53
Things are good before but for the past few months every time I come here the stuff is sold out besides one or two items. I wonder if they stopped making everything else and just attracting people to come for their other stuff, then after people had lined up for so long, they just get whatever is remaining not knowing stuff was sold out before they lined up. Not to mention that you can’t even check what is out of stock by calling ahead because they never ever ever pick up the phone call
13 December 2021 5:18
Fantastic cheese cake and matcha tiramisu. Very light in texture and cooked perfectly. I normally dont like cheese cakes cause they're so heavy but this place is fantastic.
25 November 2021 4:45
Definitely recommend this place. Rated one of the best cheesecake spots by BlogTO, this gem doesn’t disappoint! Love the frozen cheesecake.
07 November 2021 10:00
I checked their open hours before I visit and it says they are open until 9pm. It was 8: 10 pm when I checked so I went there but it was closed!
It’s my fault that I didn’t bring an umbrella on a rainy day and park a little far so me and my girlfriend got all wet for nothing.

This location of Cheese Garden has done a great job with their interior, easy-to-read menu, and very well organized protocol for contactless interaction.

I ordered the Classic Japanese Cheesecake that carried well all the way back to Kipling Station. The cake itself was very delicious and thick (when taken out of the fridge). Flavour-wise, it was definitely mellow and slightly more cheese compared to other Japanese Cheesecake places that I've visited like Uncle Tetsu and Love Me Sweet. It was such a treat!

The staff are very efficient and treats their products with care. They also have a handy distanced contactless payment at the table away from their desk to provide isolation.

Note: This is one of the 4 Cheese Garden locations in Toronto (North York, Eaton Centre, Midland and Pacific Mall).
18 September 2021 12:24
啊这 也太一般了
Tried the macha sundae, presentation is cute however the taste of all the ingredients is meh. Even McDonald's ice cream is better than this.
11 September 2021 12:57
First time visiting this store. Only take-out or delivery available. Maybe it's in the late afternoon, I only bought one dessert and one drink. (It's a pity that I couldn't buy the Peach Oolong Tiramisu. I thought I could purchase in-store but they said it's sold out.)

Food & Drink:
Match Yaki ($6.45CAD without tax)
Iced White Peach Oolong Tea - Regular size ($4.95 CAD without tax)

The package of the March Yaki is cute. The dessert is put in the small can and you can read the images that I uploaded. The taste is not bad but I really want to try the Peach Oolong Tiramisu and Yaki Budding cheesecake. The Peach Oolong Tea tastes good with a bag of green tea inside.

If you want to purchase what you want from the menu, I would recommend contacting them before coming or buy online early. Hope this information helps you.
09 September 2021 18:06
I wish they could make that Matcha flavor stronger. I mean it’s a Matcha cheese cake but all I can taste is the cheese cake part
02 August 2021 23:18
The deserts at this place are amazing.best japanese cheesecake i've had.by evening, they're usually sold out on items so i suggest going during the day for a good selection.
13 June 2021 1:50
Fantastic place:) as a cheesecake lover I felt like I was in heaven^^ and the seasonal drinks are quite good too.
26 May 2021 14:56
So so yummy! I ordered Uji organic matcha tiramisu, baked cheese tart, Double fromage cheesecake, Yaki pudding cheesecake (original) via UberEats.

Uji matcha tiramisu was everyone's favorite! 5/5: For delivery, they come with a small container of matcha powder on the side for you to sprinkle it on top. I should've used a sieve to make it pretty but I couldn't wait. You simply must try the matcha tiramisu. The cream is so silky and soft, it melts in your mouth. They layer the tiramisu with as follows starting from bottom: sponge cake, matcha cheese cream, sponge cake, cheese cream, then sprinkled matcha powder. The matcha flavour is very decadent and oh-so-pleasant. If I were to point out something minor. I found the texture of the cake a bit like a dry sponge, so it wasn't soft enough to fully compliment the cream. To elaborate: When I took a bite of this tiramisu, I would have the cream melting in the mouth and need to chew on the sponge cake instead of having the cake melt alongside the cream. Nonethless, this tiramisu is a must try. The matcha they use has great quality and flavour, and their cheese cream has a nice soft cheese flavour. I recommend buying two if you're going to share with other people.

Baked cheese tart 4/5: The cheese filling in this tart is RICH. With a small slice of this tart, your mouth will be full of the cream cheese goodness flavour. The filling has a soft light texture but comes with a full and bold flavour. If you prefer a milder taste of cheese, you may not enjoy this tart more than one bite because one bite was enough for some of us to start craving something savory/spicy to balance the powerful cheesy richness. The tart crust is super flaky! I gave one star less because it was a bit tough to cut this tart into slices.

Double fromage cheesecake 4/5: it's got a nice soft flavour of cheese. Beautiful cheesecake. If you get delivered, keep it out in room temp for some time before serving. They come from their freezer so it needs times to thaw. But once it's ready, it's a nice treat.

Yaki pudding cheesecake (original) 2/5: unfortunately for us, it just wasn't it. I couldn't taste much of cheesecake flavour. The pudding is soft, it's got a layer of sponge cake on top. Compared to the other items we got, this once was just too sweet for our taste. I apologize to those who enjoyed this but it just wasn't one for me. But if you like caramel flavour, please try!

Overall, I would highly recommend anyone to try this place. The packaging is cute too.
14 May 2021 20:23
Got the Japanese Cheesecake and while it had good texture, the flavour was very cardboard like, almost bland. Very disappointed. Will not be coming back.
23 April 2021 9:15
They have an excellent selection here. If you like this type of food, then it is really nice to eat here.
21 April 2021 9:43
This is literally one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. The only reason I gave it one less star is because I never got a chance to eat the store and see the pretty desserts being served with cute presentation. We visit Toronto from periodically from the US and we’ve been to this place twice. The store is very small so there is only seating for about 3 pairs. The sad part is my picture is from the display because I always have to take it to go and it’s in a white paper tub like any tub of ice cream. Also there seasonal items are very limited so they do sell out pretty quickly. There flagship is the uji matcha tiramisu which is so soft and fluffy and not very sweet. I finished the tub in one sitting with one other person. I also got a small matcha cake to share with friends. The Sakura cake was sold out when we went.
24 March 2021 8:25
The cheese cake was delicious and consistent with their other locations. The staff were super friendly as well. My only recommendation would to have the idle staff checking in on the long line up out side to see if anyone is picking up an already placed order (just as the lady ahead of me was indecisive and holding the line up for 15 minutes- also attempting to bargain the pricing too). I was inside but noticed everyone outside was freezing (-10 degrees that day). Just a suggestion for idle staff. But other than that, everything was great.:)
17 March 2021 6:30
Amazing quality dessert! Perfectly light and such distinct flavours make this spot worth the price. I got the limited edition rose valentine soufflé cheesecake which sadly is only a temporary item but it was delicious!
04 March 2021 13:31
Its pretty good, not a fan of the tiramisu though! The chees cake is a bit heavier than the other place i frequent,
01 February 2021 11:43
We've tried almost all their products and everything is top notch. Probably my favorite dessert shop in Toronto.
03 October 2019 17:09
Cute cafe with happy helpful customer services! Very friendly and well spoken. They sell cheesecakes and vibrant summer drinks. I especially liked their decorations in store
30 September 2019 23:09
Cheesecake tart was very good. Crust was buttery and flaky, and the cake itself was very satisfactory.
21 September 2019 15:14
Ordered iced green apple jasmine tea. Waited 10 mins and store is not even full. Can't taste the jasmine tea at all. Very blend. It's like drinking sour water with lots of crushed ice.
31 August 2019 11:29
Their Matcha double fromage cheesecake was frozen, not chilled, but frozen- it was a bit too hard to eat and you'd almost have to insert some force to even scoop a spoonful- I ended up taking it home and it tasted better melted. The Matcha tiramisu was good and their baked cheese tart is a must try. Def recommend this place for matcha lovers.
28 August 2019 0:14
What a nice surprise! Awesome cheesecakes here. They have some samples to try out. The original cheesecakes were sold out but we tried the baked cheese tart which was really good. Highly recommend this place. A bit pricey but it’s worth it.
26 August 2019 16:56
Delicious cheese cake and fantastic service. My daughter is spoiled everytime we go.
This location is clean and prices are fair.
24 August 2019 18:33
The cheesecake was the best cake I've ever had. So creamy, soft, and it melts in your mouth. Service was also friendly, kind, and quick. Would definitely recommend and come again!
21 August 2019 17:06
The matcha tiramisu is delicious! Not too sweet. The slightly bitter matcha powder and cream cheese icing pairs well together.

Cute interiors and friendly staff, however the atmosphere is more take out than sit down.
13 August 2019 22:46
Small place near Finch/North York Centre, but theirs is the best cheese tart there is in all of Toronto! A friend recommended the place to me and I got hooked. Matcha cheesecake is also delicious. Two thumbs up for Cheese Garden!:)
11 August 2019 21:54
It's not really what I expected. I came here for the baked bread and I was quite disappointed. I wish they opened earlier in he morning it makes more sense cause it acts as a coffee shop.

Anyways the bread gets kind of state quickly because they are exposed to air instead of contained.

They serve alot of deserts so instead of treating the place like a morning or day coffee shop it's like a night time coffee shop.

The prices are a bit high for my taste of what it offers.
09 August 2019 4:57
I normally line up here when they have limited time offer in store.

From uji Matcha tiramisu.
White peach tiramisu and
the sakura cheesecake set.

I was not a fan of the sakura jelly but the cheesecake was so good.
08 August 2019 17:07
Super friendly staff. Ordered the Uji Tiramisu, tasted delicious, but still liked their fromage cheesecake best for the summer.
03 August 2019 4:08
Double fromage cheesecake is magic. Small store with a little seating area. It’s nicely decorated and the packaging of the cheesecake is wonderful!
22 July 2019 19:04
This one is tough, first time, the cheese tart and cake was amazing. The tart was literally oozing cheese from first to last bite. The second time, it's like they changed the recipe completely. The crust itself seemed to be under cooked and the filling wasn't even close the filling it up as before. I'll chalk it up to a bad day, but need to come back soon and update if it's still amazing as when they first opened, or has the quality truly dropped so low.
21 July 2019 15:49
Hands down the best place to get a Japanese cheesecake in Toronto!
The staff is welcoming and hospitable.
They should add a tipping option to their billing system. This is one of the places where I'd happily tip 25%.
Have tried the cheesecake, matcha cheesecake, cheese tart.
Will try the rest of their menu in the months to come.
12 July 2019 2:09
One of the cutes coffee shop in Northyork.their desserts are too cute to each.love their Matcha Tiramisu and White Peach Tiramisu.very yummy.
09 July 2019 16:48
This time tried matcha cake and as expected the taste was delicious. Love cheese garden also your decoration
09 July 2019 11:43
Amazing cheesecakes and drinks. Original is best but all others worth trying too. Great staff, cosy seating.
05 July 2019 8:08
I tried the DOUBLE FROMAGE CHEESECAKE (original flavour), the cost was $20. It was very small, feeds about 4 people to have a small slice each. The cheesecake was light and airy. Not exactly a cake texture but more of a heavy mousse! It was cheesy and sweet. Pretty delicious but something I wouldn't spend $20 on again. The shop is super cute. Def try it once!
19 June 2019 13:42
Cute shop with everything Japanese cheesecake. I usually get their original cheesecake whenever I get a craving of something light, fluffy, and yummy.
19 January 2019 7:29
Very creamy and cheesy! The matcha flavor is just right - not too overbearing but very potent. This is also a great place to work. There are two plugs in the front and WiFi is very fast. Only negative: prices are a tad high for dessert.
19 October 2018 13:05
Tried Cheese Garden's newest Yuzu Pistachio Double Fromage Cheesecake. It came in a really beautiful gift box that can likely be repurposed to store other things after the cheesecake is consumed. Since the cheesecake comes frozen, it is recommended to leave it in room temperature for at least 15 minutes otherwise you would not be able to cut through it!

I enjoyed the layers of the yuzu mascarpone cheesecake and baked pistachio cheesecake as it was not too sweet and the diced sugar roasted pistachio added a nice level of texture.

Overall I really liked the cheesecake and it is big enough to share with a couple of friends!
30 September 2018 0:49
Walking in, it is spacious, organized and easy on the eyes. The atmosphere is pleasant and refreshing.

Most of their cheesecakes you have to purchase full size except only a few. The prices are all reasonable and they certainly deliver for quality.

I got the “shiroi valentine” as it was one of smaller sizes available, and it is fantastic (I’m eating right now”. A thin deep chocolate layer of crust at the bottom, a fluffy soufflé body with a light whipped layer on top. To top it off are shredded white chocolate pieces. None of it too sweet or too rich. This place certainly has something good going and I am happy for their pretty business and well-balanced cheesecakes.

They have a big variety of cafe drinks available, also uniquely flavoured and reasonably priced.

Looking for good Japanese cheesecake, this place does not disappoint and I would say has the upper hand in some ways on Uncle Tetsu’s.
21 September 2018 21:28
A fairly new addition to the Japanese cheesecake craze in Toronto gives Uncle Tetsu a run for its money. Like all Japanese cheesecakes, it's light, not sweet, airy, and this one has a particularly reactive nature - when you slice or bite into it, you can almost hear a fizzing sound as if the cake is melting in your mouth into its basic molecular structure. It's $10 for a whole cheesecake at time of writing. Their popular double fromage matcha green tea cake though is twice that and much smaller. I think their basic cheesecake is not only the better value but tastes better too.

The packaging is a bit over the top albeit cheerful, thoughtful in design, and presentation including cheese wrap actually wrapping the cheesecake. An instructions card is also included which is endearing, like you have to take care of it in some special way. Very Japanese.

There's a small sitting area and they serve drinks as well. Friendly service.
15 September 2018 0:30
In case you’re wondering, Cheese Garden is not an export from Japan. Although, it is inspired by all the pastries found in the area when Ruka (owner) visited the country and decided to learn the recipes to bring these confections back to Canada.

The Japanese cheesecake ($10) is widely found across the GTA and probably the first thing people think about with Japanese cheese-based baked goods. Cheese Garden’s is not as buttery as some of their competitors, but is smoother while still retaining that fluffiness you expect from the cake.

What separates Cheese Garden from their competitors is their expanded offering - they are not a single recipe pony. And if you like cheese their double fromage cheesecake ($18.95) will make you swoon.
13 June 2018 3:26
Very rich cheesecake but I’m not a big fan of the flakey crust (taste like pre-made phyllo dough). It’s tasty but pricey.
