Cherry Beach Resort

The services are excellent, the rooms are clean and impeccable, and those who take care of the beach are sensational professionals, especially Mohamed abubakr chif Abdelshafy!

Let me start by saying my friend recommended Great Blue Resorts to me as an alternative to renting a whole cottage. Him and his family and a few other families go to Lantern Bay annually and had nothing but favourable things to say.

When it comes to the customer service - the left hand DOES NOT KNOW what the right hand is doing in this place. Some of the guest services staff seemed to be friendly, but weren't very knowledgeable and the one who seemed to be in charge (Alyssa I believe) was just brutally rude and unapproachable - right from check in. I get that Sunday's are busy days and you may be run-ragged from checkouts or whatever, but that doesn't give you carte blanche to be dismissive and visually irritated at the simplest of questions (like how do I book a kayak). She literally huffed and rolled her eyes when she walked into the Welcome Centre Monday morning and I said "Good morning, you're just the person I was hoping to see".

To start this trip off - it's advertised on their website that they offer boat rentals. So we called in March and my fiance booked a fishing boat. He spoke with a woman, who quoted him $600 for the week and said it would "be ready when you check in on August 13th". He called to confirm the boat, and check on the engine type, 5 days before our arrival, and the woman he spoke with said "we don't offer boat rentals anymore". Much to his confusion, he explained that he spoke with someone back at the end of March who booked one for him and said it would be ready upon arrival - the lady on the phone said "we've had a lot of new people join, so maybe someone got confused, I dunno". ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? !? !? I sent the Manager (the REALLY "friendly" one I mention above, Alyssa) an email to inquire about alternate boat rental places nearby, figuring it was the LEAST they could do to help salvage the fishing trips that my fiance was planning with his sons (part of why we booked this resort was that East Lake is good for fishing) - she never emailed me back - completely ghosted me and didn't even so much as acknowledge that I sent an email. Still to this day.three days after we checked out, no email response.crickets.

We ended up finding a fishing boat, no thanks to the team at Cherry Beach and get this, we were charged a $25/day docking fee to dock the boat at their dock, LOL! This just added insult to injury!

All in all, the resort itself is okay, something for all to do.

The staff (other than the grounds keepers, they were always happy, smiling and saying hello) were lackluster, and that's giving them more credit than they deserve.

I recognize (and hope) this is an isolated thing to "Cherry Beach". And not reflective of Great Blue Resorts but I tell ya, we WOULD NOT invest in a cottage at this particular location, for the fear that the shoddy customer service would reflect poorly on us as owners, and yield no repeat customers as a result.

Someone from Great Blue Resorts needs to spend some time on this property, train the staff properly and implement better customer service measures.

We will not be back to this resort.and I'm not sure the "Great Blue Resorts" name is all that favourable to us in general after this disaster of a first impression.

PS - We encountered many more issues than what I mentioned in
this review, but I was capped at the word count and needed to delete things - important thing I kept however, the lack of customer service.

First time visit to Cherry Beach. Love the resort, very well maintained, quiet at night, nice people, lots of activities for the kids, long clean beach. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful.
Was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin, fridge door and handle very dirty as was the patio door, stove top and giddle needed to be degreased before using, i consider these fixable issues. Air-conditioning stopped working in middle of the night, breaker tripped easy fix. The only major complaint was having no running water from 3am on, couldnt flush toilet, have shower, or cook breakfast, had to leave 4 hours before checkout to find bathroom and some place to eat.

Good family location. Service is non existing, water was cut off for a while night without anyone answering their phone.

Piscine chauffée, super de beau terrain de basketball, jeux d’eau, parc, plage, kayak, canot, tour de bateau ($) et ce qu’on a capote dessus le plus c’est la nature

Le chalet était vraiment parfait pour tout nos besoins. Eau chaude, frigidaire, cuisine complète, salon, les chambres, salle de bain et un gros terrain pour s’amuser.

OMGGGG on a jamais vu autant de tortues se promener partout sur les routes et terrains. C’était plein. Tellement beau à voir. C’est très relaxant de se réveiller avec cette magique vue de tortues heureuses.

L’autre expérience qu’on a adoré, c’était le tour de ponton pour aller voir les signes. OMMMMMGGGGG wowowowowoww. Il y a avait plein partout. C’était fantastique! On a ça au Canada une beauté sur nos lacs. Où l’on vit, nous en avons pas alors …. Pouvez vous imaginer la joie qu’on avait de voir tous ces signes avec leurs bébés. Le guide/conducteur était mental! Il nous a appris plein d’affaire sur l’endroit, le lac et les signes. Wowowow quel remarquable monsieur.

Il y a aussi une boutique avec de la bonne crème glacée ai vous nous connaissez hahahaha, vous savez que c’est hyper important pour nous d’avoir une crème glacée pour que notre séjour soit parfait hahahahahaha. Gina, la personne du lobby, est merveilleuse. Toujours là pour nous aider avec un super de beau sourire.

C’est sûr qu’on va revenir. On a super adoré de A à Z.

Les employés et même les autres clients avaient tous le sourire et nous parlaient de leur aventures.

This resort is a solid 3 star with lots of potential: good but not great. This was our 2nd year going with 2 young kids. I love the location, that there are so many amenities within walking distance and it seems like a great community.

However, both times going, something was closed and in need of repair (this year it was the splash pad, last year it was the pool). Given how much it costs to rent these properties and how much the owners pay in monthly fees, this is a huge mark on their management. I was also pretty disappointed in the customer service this year as the staff seemed much less knowledgeable and friendly. For example, I left something behind and when I called, the young staff member said they had seen it but didn't know what happened to it. They said they would have the manager call me back and no one did. I am just not sure at this price if we would return again given the above issues.

Cherry Beach is a very nice resort. Rent a cabin and enjoy nature. Go fishing, kayaking, jet skiing. It's all up to you

Everyone is super nice. Welcoming. We loved it. Wowow. They really have everything to have fun with your family.
