My friends and I are regularly golfers go out every weekend and tour around different places and I've never left a bad review for a golf course cause I've never needed to but wow this place! Terrible, the drink cart guy took 20 minutes at least to cash us out to the point the marshal came up and said were playing to slow and need to pick up our balls and move on never even asked if everything is okay. Just gave us attitude because members complained but yet never took into account there beverage cart person was holding everything up. Dont blame decent golfer for your staffing issues then take away our playing time without giving any money back. We've never been told to hurry up this is a first let alone told to pick up our balls. WoW the arrogance of people will NEVER BE BACK HERE AGAIN! As well will be telling alll our golfing friends about this to keep our playing somewhere else! Dishonest place! And by far no golfers etiquette
Wow what a disappointment. I have heard so many people say you have to try cherry downs.where to start.the cart had lots of rust I had to stomp on the park break SO hard to get it to lock. The course is balding. DRY and absolutely neglected. Most pin locations are plopped on a ridiculous break and the greens are ROCK hard. I injured my wrist playing here today. Most of the rough on the front 9 even green side is balding to the dirt.and like I said it's all rock hard. I have never wanted to leave a golf course SO badly after just a couple holes. This was my first experience with Clublink and I can see why people say all of those courses are neglected once they come in. The back 9 was better but still a lot of balding dry burnt conditions in the rough and fairways. The only positive would be the starter was an absolute pro and the sand in the bunkers was very nice.
All staffs are really friendly and good service. The course is little bit difficult. You have to take a map. A staff is keep checking customers for smooth play. There power cart has balls & clubs cleaner. It's so awesome.
A mature parklands course featuring a balance of seven 4s, six 3s & five 5s. Elevation and approach position will play a role in scoring, while the reputable slippery and sloped greens can draw the dreaded 3 putt from anyone not locked in. Classic yardage reaches up to 6,598 yards making it a less daunting course for juniors or non-players looking to get out and play. Low cut rough length is also notable compared to many Carrick design stadium epics throughout the GTA. Amenities could be refreshed, but daily fee golf reflects the priorities of this Claremont gem.
I had a great time at this course and the views are top notch. Just a heads up this is a challenge course- the tee shots always seem like you are hitting into tight fairways - But im a low 90's guy at an average course. Still I had one of my funnest days golfing at Cherry Downs and I shot a 94. Also the greens are fast. But im a big fan and would HIGHLY recommend
Great course everything about cherry downs makes it worth your money and all the staff is A+ so respectful, nice and caring makes your experience top notch also the super fast challenging greens and the Forrest surrounding most holes makes your shot placement a key part of the game there, I was a member of clublink and that was my home course even now that I am not a member I will be playing cherry downs all the time!
Not a bad course but in desperate need of maintenance + upgrades. The club house is quite dated and has an 80s feel. A lot of potential here if they would invest in a few upgrades and increase their maintenance program.
Very beautiful course. Water, trees, elevation changes, tricky greens. A true shot makers golf course. Found the greens some of the toughest around. Really tests your putting. Bring lots of balls if you slice or hook. Great value, would definitely return.
It was a wet rainy morning, and the greens were soaked, but still some of the fastest greens I've played this summer. Would hate to putt them on a super dry day. Other than that the course is in great shape.
I play a lot of golf and would never play here again. Marshalls all over us telling us to pick it up, even to the point where the guy told us to pick up our balls on a par 3, skip the hole and just take a par. I've never had this happen before.we're all out to have a good time and this just leaves a bad taste in your mouth and definitely does not make me want to ever go back there. With all the golf courses out there you think they would want to make sure every golfer has a good time.
One of my fave courses. I get beat up every time but I keep coming back for more. The greens are lightning fast and it isn't true summer yet. Love this course!
Played yesterday - July 20th. Really nice and challenging course. Some interesting approach shots to elevated greens. Bunkers are in great condition and the greens are blazing fast. Do yourself a favour and listen to the starter. When he says, "keep it below the hole" please listen. On a number of roles, I was on in reg and 3 putted from about 15' because I was above the hole.
I played Cherry Downs this past Saturday with a few friends and decided to purchase a hot dog at the 7th hole. The hot dog kiosk was placed conveniently between the 7th, 12th and 15th holes, giving golfers 3 opportunities to purchase dogs. Great location selection!
The dog was being kept warm on a hot dog roller, sans BBQ, which meant sans grill marks on the dog. Off to a slow start, and I was certainly skeptical.
However, at a inexpensive price point, and quick service I was still excited. Cherry Downs offers all standard condiments, and bonus points have been awarded for offering pickles and raw onion. Overall the dog was good, with a exceptional dog/bun ratio. After careful consideration I am scoring this hot dog at a 3.3 / 5, which may be a little high as I was quite hungry at the time of purchase. Would definitely recommend you purchase a hot dog at Cherry Downs during your round.
I Played with some friends on June 6 last Thursday. They booked too many groups in a day so it was very slow, almost no flow at all. A strong looking Marshall was rushing and yelling at players which scared us. You barely see this happening on the other courses. Not friendly at all. Rate is fairly cheap at $50 but who would like to pay for a bad experience.
