My friend and I ordered a piece of pork belly chicken, a piece of seafood, and a piece of fish. The taste is average (the pork belly chicken has a bit of fishy smell), the environment is quite noisy, and the bill actually costs more than 200 Canadian dollars. It's more expensive than a Western restaurant. To be honest, I won't go there a second time for the taste and environment at over 200 yuan.

Everything was good. Service was excellent. Food was super yummy. However, I wanna say that please notice that the waiters would ask you if you want a Veggie Soup after taking your order, they wouldn’t mention the soup was $29.99. You may say I’m too dumb not to ask for the price, but the way they asked me about the soup was so smooth and made all of us thought the Veggies soup was free just like other Chinese cuisine. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Got their chicken, string beans, and yeung chow fried rice. Their chicken and beans dishes were really good but the fried rice was extremely salty from using way too much MSG. Our night was going well until we paid cash and they never returned with change. They just assumed that we were paying over 20% tips at a casual restaurant? We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it cause it was just a few dollars difference but we felt very scammed.

Best lobster I had. The lobster was huge and fresh. The flavor was amazing on everything we ordered. This place seems to be always have a line of people waiting to be seated even at 8pm so you should made reservation before you visit. The service is decent, not great because of how busy it is. Overall great experience.

This place serves authentic Cantonese food. We have tried their eggplant dish and chicken, both tasted great. Will definitely come back and try other dishes. Comes with complimentary Cantonese soup and Chinese dessert.

Their entire menu, from daily specials lunchtime specials to expensive dishes like lobsters are all delicious!

Tasty food! They are usually pretty busy so if you have a big group make sure you make a reservation before you go.

The portion of this place is unbelievably small. We booked a table for 6 plus one kid and pre-ordered a 10 person meal along with 10lbs of lobster as a celebration. When the lobster dishecame, it was obviously that there were only 6-7 lbs of lobsters total on the plate. Me and my family have lobster on a regular basis since I was young, so we can tell how much lobster meat there should be for 10lbs of lobsters. When we asked the manager to clarify and he had to audacity to ask me to teach him how to cook lobster. Not only that, the portions of the other dishes were extremely small, barely 5 person portion. Dishes were extreme salty. The fish and chicken were not bad.
Overall their lobster weight is questionable and dishes were extremely small and salty. Do not recommend.

Eaters be aware of hidden add-on charges.

Ordered a two-people lobster combo. Our package included soup, 2-pound lobster, boiled veggies, fried beef and desserts.

We were offered two soup options without mentioning the add-on charge. We were charged for $29.99 for a chicken soup.

The waiter told us there’s no 2-pound lobster. The closest he could find was 2 small lobsters (3.4 pounds) with additional charge. We said okay as there’s no other option.

The waiter then approached us and asked us if we were interested to get desserts, again, without mentioning the additional charge. We were not interested so we said no. We overheard an other table complaining about the hidden fees for upgraded desserts.

I would give service 0 star but the food was delicious. So in total it deserves a 2 star-review.

I have been waiting for long time for my take-out meal today. I had checked with the staff when my meal can be ready several times. But my request was ignored. They kept chatting with each other and did not give me an update when my meal can be ready. So frustrated with their working attitude.

Tables are really close to each other. Portion size is small. Fried rice is oily. I can feel they use lots of MSG. Definitely not the best in this neighborhood.

Overall service was good. Price is very reasonable given the quality of food. The only negative is the two flies flying around our table for the whole meal. This is one of the dishes we ordered - eggplant witg diced chicken and salted fish - very tasty!

The day first started off bad, got a bit better, and ended off not so good! We originally booked a table for 5 and when we arrived at the restaurant, we had to wait for several minutes because there was no more tables. We asked the manager where is our table and why do we have to stand for a long time with our legs getting tired! They said "Oh because there was a big group of people and we did not have enough tables and chairs for them, since your table was the only one left, so we decided to give them your table! ". Finally, someone left and we had no choice but to take their small and tight table and seating. The manager had felt very bad for this because we complained why we don't like this small and tight spot! I thought the manager felt bad because we then saw a great service and nice servers, but those servers are a different story. In the end, the manager asked me if I want to have mango pudding, I said yes because based on his way of speaking, he said "child, do you want to have mango pudding? ", I said yes because I thought that he would give me mango pudding and tong sui, but he replaced my tong sui with mango pudding not said properly! Although the waiters/waitresses were very nice, but if there is a manager who manages like this, then, I don't want to dine in ever again. I will only go or takeout!

I think its a good affordable seafood restaurant. Kinda busy during dinner time and tables are little close to the others. But food taste good and servers are friendly. Most of menu is in chinese.you can ask for english menu.

Fantastic dishes all around and great service too! The Squash and Mushrooms was beautifully presented as it comes as a whole squash and cut open at the table revealing all the mushrooms inside. Also loved the flavorful lobster and Coconut Taro with Spareribs.

Very reasonably priced for all very good portion sized plates. And if you’re looking for the “wok air”, then you definitely get the full “wok air” with this place. I would definitely go back again to try their other combos. We went during the first day they opened back up indoor dining to 50 people and they cleaned the dishes and utensils with hot water in front of you with tongs. Definitely confident to say they’re very sanitary for customers.

Only good for look, expensive, shrimp was horrible and meat had no texture. I will not recommend.

Tasty and friendly.we orderd the special duck and pot cooked rice (you have to order these two in advance becausw they took long time to cook), to me the duck is a little salty.deep fried milk is amazingly good, esp conparing to other resturants.tofu with vegetable is gooood.sour pork with pineapple is sour and sweet, kind of balance out other meat dishes.

Overall very well rounded place. Dinner has great seafood and specialty hand shredded cold chicken while lunch has some great brisket noodles

Great Chinese "wor choy" selection. Favourite dish to order here is their bitter melon coated with egg yolk - It. Is. Amazing. Much better value than those overpriced egg yolk coated chips in half-filled bags (if you know, you know).

A regular hk Chinese restaurant, dishes are ok but nothing worth mentioned, ample space but prices are on the high side compared to others

The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. Went in today and tried their lobster, it was delicious. One problem though is that parking might be an issue as the plaza is small and parking spaces seem to be limited.

We went for dinner the other night. We ordered a few dishes recommended by the owner. The quality of food is ok with no wow factor. The decor is very basic but the meal was quite expensive for what we got. I will not go back again and don't recommend to my friends.

Great casual restaurant. Highly recommend reservations since it's a rather small space. Lots of variety and the all the dishes we ordered was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place again. Parking is a little bit of a struggle since it's in a plaza with small number of spots to begin with.

We ordered A-choy (Chinese lettuce), stone pot with fried fillet and tofu, salted fried chicken and spicy black bean clams. (The spicy level of the clams was more mild like a 2 of 10).

Flavour is good, but portion is small. Ordered a whole chicken but it didn't look like I actually received an entire chicken.

Staff is generally courteous.

Reservation is absolutely necessary during weekends, otherwise, you'll be waiting for a long long long time for a table.

Parking space in the plaza is also severely limited, so good luck finding a parking spot when it's during peak hours.

Great service! Food is very tasty and lots of variety and prices to meet one's budget! Given that that the restaurant offers authentic Chinese dishes, I am surprised that the dishes, although tasty, are not steaming hot? My house soup was luke warm, my maggie sauce lobster was also warm, my steam fish was hot but I could not trace the steam. I also looked at the adjacent tables and I couldn't trace the steam neither. Something I have to get used to.

Truly an authentic Chinese restaurant. We ordered a variety of foods and packed up the rest!

It’s quite busy on Friday and Saturdays, definitely book a reso before hand.

Seating can get a little cramped, but you won't be disappointed with the food. Love their almond pig lung soup, lobster 3 ways (3+ pounds), and 5 flavor duck. For big party reservation is generally a good idea.

We had lunch at Chi Star and it was really good. I was specifically craving fried lobster so we decided on the set course. We got at 4.6 lb lobster, lobster fried rice and a giant dish of watercress (it's not a soup like we thought) with the set menu - with a surcharge because the lobster was larger than 4lbs (which is fair). We also ordered 2 more noodle dishes with beef and vegetables and they were also delicious. The food was not overly oily and came in a reasonable amount of time. The service was friendly and helpful. Our total bill came to around $140 which included $88 set course + surcharge, 2 noodle dishes and taxes. We left with 4 leftover containers and 3 pops which we will enjoy tomorrow:)

On the right day the food offered by Chi Star rival some of the best Chinese restaurants in town. This place can get busy, so reservations are recommended. The staff are generally friendly, but when it's busy, they can be less than attentive (sort of as expected). There is a wide range of offerings on the menu, ask the servers or the owner (s) what the specials of the day are, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Meh! A ok place for Chinese food. Nothing outstanding. Prices are bit high for the quality. They must have a fly problem as they had electric bug killer in the restaurant.

This is one of my favourite restaurants. Although it is not beautifully decorated and is not a roomy restaurant, you will find the great dishes here. This restaurant is always busy from open to close. The usual waiting time could be over an hour if you have not reservation. The service is efficient and the food quality (most important element for a restaurant) is always fresh and yummy. Dishes are not decorated or presented aesthetically but they taste really good and in a fair price. Average check is $50 per pax. Some dishes require advance order at least one day ahead. Enjoy your Dinner!

Very well served and good taste: whole fried fish, baby garlic bok choi and dried rice with salted fish

Interior is dated, but the food is really good.we ate in the back, which is like old school chinese restaurants that weren't fussy on the look of the restaurant because the food spoke for itself. The stuffed chicken is awesome. You need to order it ahead so they can prepare it in the afternoon or something, but no one else has anything like it.
