Watch out of you order CHOW MEIN in your combos you will not get chow mein. You will get bean sprouts and NO noodles. They won't replace or refund you Ethier. Now they are serving $17 Cantonese chow mein is lunch sized to go containers. Just save your money and don't.

Best crab cheese wontons on earth. Shout out to the woman who answers the phone. She's always so friendly and full of life, makes me feel comfortable. She also never judges me when I order lots of crab cheese wontons LOL

First time ordering from China Chef. Everything was pretty good but surprised we only got one container of rice in the dinner for 6. Egg rolls are a bit dry and the crab wonton's could be better.

I called them for a pick up order and told them the corresponding alphabet for the specific dish I wanted but the attendant couldn't understand me and it took more than 3 minutes just to order a fried rice. And finally, she took my order. But then when I arrived, she made 3 quantities for my pick up. I still don't know how on earth she picked up 3 fried rice from my order. But I never complained, just paid the amount, because I really didn't want to talk to her anymore and waste my time. Finally, I hoped the food would at least be great, but that was also a big time disappointment. Anyways they should really put someone who could understand and speak clearly over the phone.

Favourite Chinese delivery in town. Excellent consistency, you always know what to expect and it meets your expectations every time. Great quality for a great price. Highly recommend!

My new favourite Chinese take out. The veg was fresh and everything was good. The egg rolls and chicken balls were amazing, perfect ratios. We found the spring rolls too doughy. The general tao chicken was not spicy but good with their hot sauce.

I've been looking a long time for a good place that offers amazing Chinese food. And SOOO glad I decided to order from here last night. The rice was amazing and not salty like other places. The chicken balls were cooked to perfection and not dripping with grease, and finally I found a spot that offers general Tao with a kick (although it could be more spicy) the chop suey (vegetable) was perfect and wasn't salted with a waiting heart attack. Will definitely be back. Not to mention, the customer service was amazing.

The chicken fried rice is actually good (in most Chinese food places the rice isn't great, this one has good rice)

For example: egg rolls? (ordered egg roll, looks and tastes like a bigger Spring roll) with no sauce, lemon chicken with no sauce (inedible), sweet and sour chicken with minimal sauce (barely edible as a result)

For the price, it's still worth it, but if you are looking for good quality, always check your order: . Make sure there is sauce when there is supposed to be.and enough of it to be reasonable

Quality would be excellent if they made sure every order has the sauces they are supposed to come with, and enough of it to keep customers happy

I really like China Chef. Their prices are amazing. I know I should talk about the food first but please read on. If you order a lunch special it will feed two people lunch with leftovers for the next day for about $10. The food does not have msg (another bonus) and is the typical Canadian Chinese food, the kind you get in every small restaurant across this country. You know how you order McDonald’s because you know it is not a gourmet burger but you know exactly what you will get? Well China Chef is the same. Check it out.

Food is below average it, used to be better. Incredibly rude people, in particular the young girl who takes the orders. Her inability to apologize for a delivered order that was wrong was the straw that broke the camel's back. I won't be returning.

I call and make an order of $50 bucks or over. Lady on phone after order was placed. "k, bye"
No "thank you for ordering from China chef, I hope you enjoy your meal" just k bye. This is not proper business ethics. Foods not that great anymore, failing business

Food was ok But the absolute rudest people I've ever met. Especially the young girl. She's a little monster. She the only one that speaks any English. Bbq ribs were off the chain tho

Didn't want to give them a one star but had no choice in order to write review. New Year's day would not service combo meals. Wanted to be greedy for big orders only from 3-8 pm. Well doctor's and nurses don't have the choice of what we have to service but work long hours looking after the public including you some day. I will make sure l pass this on to my co-workers and order elsewhere from here on. You just lost alot of business due to your greed.

Foods ok but if they continue to let children answer the phones they should teach them how to speak to people without the attitude and some manners wouldn't hurt either

Their food is medium par, you wont find anything fantastic here.
That said, I was able to get $90 worth of Chinese food and have it delivered for just $64. It's cheap, folks.and if you're paying these low of prices for Chinese, you really can't complain. You're getting what you pay for, if you're looking for a solid offering, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a lot of food on a budget, I recommend the Lo Mein.

I needed a substitute place since LoonHo is not open on Mondays. Next time I'll wait till Tuesday. Sliced bbq pork was flavorful.but tough and dried out pieces of.thin pork meat. Special house rice was under cooked, very light on the ingredients and lacking real flavour. Deep fried chicken wings were food service frozen wings. Awful. Loon ho uses real chicken and real batter. They spoil me. The egg rolls tasted odd. Contents were mushy and unrecognizable. Will never grace their door again. Forward ho to Loon Ho.

Got the chicken fried rice, worst ever don’t know how anyone can messed up chicken fried rice, and the BBQ ribs was more like sugar ribs. The service was so so not cheerful at all.

The restaurant wa temporarily closed due to a family emergency requiring a visit home to China. The restaurant will reopen on March 22.thank

Average food, good prices. Staff seemed not to care about my order. I felt rushed to order with only one person behind me in line.
From the customer areas you can see that the kitchen is busy and to my eye not as clean as it could be.

Always super fresh, have been going here for 4 years & never been disappointed!
I recommend the General Tso chicken!

It's an alright family owned takeout restaurant.
Compared to other places in Peterborough, the food here is on the cusp of three Stars. And the portions are big, but don't expect leftovers to be all that edible.
However, the service isn't the best. It's the typical authentic Asian service where the customer is second, and almost everything else is first.
It's definitely worth a try if you have money to try things out or if you have no concept of other Chinese places in town.
