China Palace

We came here for dinner around 7: 30pm. The service was amazing, the greeted us and we sat down. The server saw that the table we sat at was wet, so she asked us if we wanted to move. Very kind.

The food came incredibly fast, within about 10 minutes. The portions were amazing. We ordered a plate of chicken, and a plate of Cantonese fried noodles and three of us couldn’t finish it. It tasted amazing, 10/10 recommend!

One of the best-tasting Hakka places in the GTA!

We have been dining at China Palace for many years. Even after trying many other Hakka restaurants, China Palace is still our favourite.

Our usual favs are:
- Spicy Garlic Tofu (gravy)
- Vegetable Manchurian (gravy)
- Vegetable Hakka Noodles
- China Palace Fried Rice
- Paneer Pakoras
- Vegetable Pakoras

First time ordering here after many years. I was unaware of the ownership change. The Hakka noodles were disgusting and tasted nothing like they used to. Also, there was barely any chicken in the dish. Don't waste your money

Don’t understand the bad reviews on here- we’re rather picky and this delivered. I’m glad we didn’t listen to the reviews- the portions are good size and the flavour is amazing. The curry spring rolls are fantastic (as are the potato). Had the crispy beef- was good but our least fav out of the things we tried. We had a chicken dish that was spicy and honestly packed flavour. Would definitely recommend trying this place if you’re in the area!

Me n my friend ordered food which came out in two mins so it wasn’t fresh n tasted like it was a week old and after we got sick and vomited out whatever we ate, it was waste of money n prices are not reasonable and $120 for garbage food paid, will never go there again and will not recommend this place. Service was equally horrible. Worse place in town.

I ordered chilli chicken for take out it’s really cold like they just took it from the fridge and give it to me. Food is Garbage and disgusting …. And pricey.now I know why the rating is so slow…they should closed for food quality inspection…NOT RECOMMEND THIS GARBAGE PLACE TO ANYONE.

Food was extremely disappointing, no flavour. Almost everything i ordered tasted the same, but even though they were supposed to be different sauces. Food did not taste fresh either.

I ordered a chowmein expecting it to be delhi style however it is an authentic Chinese restaurant. Ambience is calm and food is good. I saw people taking rice bowl with gravy which looks good. Chowmein was upto the mark not very spicy and good for two.

I ordered chilli chicken, and noodles.

I am not one to review (good or bad) very often, but the food was bad enough to have me review.

The Gravy was bitter, but bland, did not taste good at all - tasted as if something was missing. There was transparent chunks in the gravy as well.

The chicken was very rough, and there was barely and flavour, as if eating just RE-fried chicken soaked in soy sauce. Chili chicken you expect a lot of flavour.

The noodles were good, the rest of the family did not enjoy the meal (and we love hakka food), but my 5 year old did enjoy the noodles. I have been to this location in past, and I don't remember it being this bad. Customer service was great - kind and prompt service.

I have been going here for several years. The new renovations look great. This was definitely one of my favourite lunch places before the ownership change, and continues to be after, though I don't go as often as I used to. I have noticed some people have had a bad experience since the change, but I have not found this to be my experience. I have been quite happy with the food I have received and the prices are also great.

Cant believe cheap people ordered from skip the dish for total of
$66. In notes I wrote please provide schezwan sauce on side for that they called me saying we charge $3.

Definitely new ownership/management. The place was cold and scarce yet designed pleasantly. The food however was nothing to be desired and needs work. In the end we definitely wasted our money.

Iv been to China Palace many times because there food is excellent. However, today when I went there with my family, the restaurant was cold as he'll because the heat was not working and they were still operating the restaurant and we had our dinner the cold restaurant.

Please train your chefs again and re-think your portion size. It’s bad to talk bad about food in my culture so I’ll leave it at the fact that there are a million better options down the road. Place looks ghosted.

All the dishes taste yummm. Consistency in preparation every time I visit. Good for both dine in and take out. Highly recommend!

China palace is a must try! Been to all three locations and they never disappoint my cravings for some hakka food. My go to is always the manchurian chicken and manchow soup if you like spice.

I used to go here as a kid was awesome but now price went up quality went down chilli chicken was gross just left it there never coming back. To the owners if you continue the way your going this restaurant will close

Renovations look good. It used to be owned by Chinese people and now it looks like it's owned by indians. During the time of the Chinese ownership the restaurant was fantastic hence the name China Palace. But for some odd reason Indians own this restaurant and have totally destroyed the recipe. I ordered dine in, chili chicken and Curry chicken. The food arrived pretty fast which I was shocked, I never heard any pans sizzling or anything. To the eye the food look good but the curry chicken was in a sauce that looked very unusual. It didn't even taste like Curry chicken. You think an Indian guy "cooking" would have known how to make curry. After eating the two dishes as soon as I got in my car I immediately had the runs my stomach started gurgling and I had to drive quickly to my residence. All night I've been sick I gained a fever and body shakes. I believe I got food poisoning the chicken was very chewy it had no tenderness to it. In my opinion I believe they have everything ready and they just scoop it out of a container and scoop it into a pan, even a microwave sad to say that. Oddly enough the restaurant is very beautiful inside but hardly any customers. It makes you wonder how they're keeping this business afloat. If you want to get food poisoning then I recommend you come here if you want to cleanse your stomach. Otherwise go to a more reputable China Palace the newer ones that actually are owned by Hakka Chinese chefs. I won't be coming back here it's obvious.

So chep people. They tell me on the phone different amout and when I pick up food they charge me extra topping in the noodles.

Will I go there again, NO NEVER, ordered Chilli Chicken, Crispy Ginger Beef, and Manchurian fried rice were No Flavour at all just bland, not worth the money spent

Delicious food. Hot and sour soup seemed extra delicious but it may have been that it was so cold outside.
I had the chili chicken which is my go to dish. It was amazing as always. My friend ordered the beef and broccoli also amazing

Quick service but the good lacks a bit. Their fried rice in particular is sparse of meat or substance and nearly all rice. I like a more fuller dish.

The China Doll restaurant has a great system handling this crazy pandemic.service is quick and courteous.food is great.ample parking.well lit.and super convenient hours!

Yummy food. Munchurian veggie with gravy was delish. Love their spring rolls with plum sauce. Great service.

Had food here last year and it was really good, went back yesterday and it was oily, tasteless and everything tasted the same.

Terrible flavours. Ordered manchurian noodles, firstly there was no trace of manchurian balls. Second, the flavours were neither Hakka nor Chinese. Also ordered fried noodles, spicy spring rolls (please don't order that EVER) and vegetable pakoras - all were bland and tasted the same, except the pakoras, but they were extremely oily. I could very easily put a blindfold on and get confused between the dishes. As someone mentioned earlier - the flavours aren't hakka!

Surely its a good restaurent but the new receptionist was rude for no reason, firstly she cancelled the call 2 times prior 40 min before closing.
Secondly she might be out of her senses she said there was no chinese lady whom i have seen just 2 days ago i have known this restaurent from last 6 years.
But the chinese lady at reception is the best

The worst version of Chinese food I have ever eaten. Dear China Palace please don't call your dishes manchurian or shezuan and when they incorporate zero flavors of those regions. Also, your "manchurian" chicken fried rice should be red, have more than 1 gram of chicken and 90 percent less onion pieces.

Service was awful. Very crowded. Even tbough i ordered my food 2 hours earlier. Still had to wait 30 minutes for pick up. Many upset people waiting. If you cant keep up, then stop taking orders.

This place is a hit or miss. Sometimes the food is really good and sometimes it blah. The soup never disappoints tho. Reasonable pricing and i think they recently Renovated so its much better now. Their lunch deals are good. 100 times better then the brampton Cottrell location

Perfect for ur Hakka fix been going here for 20 years lunch special is a bargain you can’t finish fresh n generous portions recently a full renovation the restaurant now has a beautiful ambience reasonably priced big portions Good Hakka food

There was hair in the food they blamed us for not telling them earlier they gave us wrong orders when we ordered five of a dish but they gave us 10. So overall not a good experience

Food was immaculate, quality was great, always fresh. Affordable, and the portions were big. Have been going here with family before the renovations. Definitely will be returning.

Service is always quick. Good for a quick lunch. Food is pretty good. Lunch specials are reasonably priced and lots of veggie options to chose from. The veggie hot and sour soup and Manchurian veggie balls are my go to! Chilly paneer is really flavor as well. Fair portion sizes as well

Chilli chicken with steam rice whin I came to pickup server ask me chilli chicken with egg fried rice and my anshwar was no with steam rice ok thy wheat tel me to weight ok I ask can u make one for dine in and they serve a aas me meal from the take out one and was cold whin I ask haw come it's cold and server was agree because this food frome your ordar but my ordar was not egg fried rice and in draining even the server did not bother to give even glass of water was disappointed me

Went there 2years ago, didn't like anything but recently I went there and was really surprised, it was fully renovated. Love the ambience and food was really good. It's very reasonable and will definitely become my go to place.

I would give this place zero stars if I could based on the customer service, lady who runs it has no sense of patronage whatsoever. Traveled from Michigan and decided to give this place a chance from word of mouth and we’re very disappointed, coughing and sneezing all over by the ladies and the quality just was not that good. Please please if you are trying to find good Chinese do not go to this place a chance and waste your time such as ourselves

I first went here in 2002! Same owners recently renovated. If a business can survive for over 2 decades you have to understand they are doing something right! Food has been great always! Service aswell, Decent prices, and large portions.

Very nice. I guess last summer they renovated and the place looks very nice and upto a finedine ambience. Food is good.

This place have a really good chinese food. I ordered the chow mein and the manchurian, both were delicious. I will recommend this place for the chinese food

Good classic Chinese food, with karaoke I think. Wouldn't be a bad place for a date as the dishes are meant to be shared.

Served a frozen spring roll. Waitress was annoyed that I wanted to send it back.

Reevaluate bland food after their renovation.

Delicious! Have been ordering take out from them for a very long time. Quality and flavors are always there. My personal favorite is veggie pakora and shrimp pad thai noodles.

This place is always top notch! It's been a go-to place for me and my family for years. I have nothing but love for China palace! If you haven't tried it you definitely should you, won't regret it!

Good food, quick and hot (heat & spicy). Good portions. Newly revamped, more desperate seating. Washrooms still small but not there to use loo.

We've been going here for so many years and have tried other hakka - China palace is the best! They've recently renovated and its beautiful!

The food here is great, reasonably priced and comes in a good portion. Inside of the restaurant on the other hand is not. It is dirty and unhygienic.
This place is deperately in need of a makeover and TLC

Wow, the food proportions here are amazing. Everything was delicious and the restaurant itself was nice to eat in. Lots of space and the servers were kind when we asked for extra utensils. Would love to go again.
