Its cheap, but did not enjoy any of the buns. The meat in the buns are not good quality and the pastry on the deep fried pork dim sum is too thick to eat.

Who doesn’t want cute little pastries and snacks for such amazing prices? !? We did a short stop here for snacks in between our visit to the AGO. Definitely recommend it!

Not hygienic. I bought the Japanese cake yesterday and end up using washroom the whole night!

Chinese Bakery's baked products are the same as other bakeries in the area. I have one gripe that is if you are first at the cash to checkout don't expect to get served first. I placed my payment on the counter after employee finished bagging my purchase. Instead of giving me my change she takes the order of the person who came after me and chats with her then checks her out first. This is very disrespectful and Chinese Bakery has lost a long time customer in me.
I'm going to only shop for Chinese baked goods Mashion Bakery or the T&T up the street.

Serve yourself, CASH ONLY, nice selection of baked and fried pastries (often filled with meat).

Fantastic little bakery on Dundas West in the heart of Chinatown! I stopped in on a whim and bought a variety of buns to try. Each one tasted wonderfully fresh, moist and fluffy. My personal favourites were the curry bun which was very rich with flavour, as well as the pineapple bun, which had an excellent crumbly top that tasted heavenly. Note that they only accept cash here, but the prices are VERY reasonable and I was able to afford half a dozen buns for fewer than $8. I’ll definitely be stopping by here again on my next visit to Toronto so I can try more of their selection!

My favorite place to get dessert after eating out at the BBQ/seafood restaurants in Chinatown (the sponge cake is particularly nice). You can even get a full meal here with things like pork buns, spring rolls, and pork dumplings.
Self selection is easy with lots of variety and prices are low with friendly cashier. Only thing that could use improvement is that not every baked good is always available.

I brought my husband and sister in-law here for some chinese treats, but unfortunately, they were disappointed. My husband said that the custard in the egg tart was really eggy and the tart shell was not flaky and crispy like the tarts bought at another Chinese bakery that we got to in Scarborough. My sister in-law said that the crispy rice ball stuffed with pork was just okay. She said the rice shell she expected to be sweetened just slightly but wasn't
and said that the pork stuffing wasn't all that flavourful. I don't think we'll be back.

Cash-only, great on the pocket bakery. They have a bunch of things on offer and it tastes good. My go-to purchases usually are the cheesecakes. The cookies are good too.

Good selection, very affordable but only accepts cash

Small, super affordable Chinese bakery with a good selection of baked goods and foods. I loved the Sesame Rice Balls and went back every day while in Toronto. There are tables to eat in, but really no atmosphere to speak of, so we just did the grab-and-go. Be aware that they do ONLY accept cash!

The most 'Does what it says on the tin' name for a place but mighty good. Cheap and effective. Consider that this place is CASH ONLY before you go.

Their prices are probably the cheapest in Chinatown. They have the best prices for cakes. Like the other bakeries, you can order a (larger) birthday cake and pick it up later. This place mostly have the typical kind of bao you always see in Chinese bakeries so not many new creations here, but they usually sell out. My faves are the airy cake slices.

Best pineapple bun, mochi, and egg tart that I have ever had. This beats anything that I have had in Hong Kong, Taiwan, New York, etc.the pineapple bun was super fluffy, mochi was extra soft, egg tart custard was smooth and the tart shell was spot on. Cash only! Highly recommend.

A typical Chinese pastry or confectionery with a very wide range of artisan products, the staff is friendly, the prices are very good, the only one that can only be paid in cash

Value baked goods, bread and to-go buns! Affordable food options are scarce in downtown and this place still gets my ticket.would recommend to everyone and their mother.

Solid Hong Kong style Chinese bakery with less common items like chicken biscuit. I like to grab their bbq pork pineapple bun (no actual pineapple) first thing in the morning before grocery shopping. Needs a quick oven refresh if you buy later in the day. Serviceable eats and convenient location keeps this in my regular rotation.

(THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH) The almond cookie was very good, this bakery is VERY popular in China town and they have a wide selection of traditional Chinese bakery items. The price here is unfortunately very high compared to other stores. This cookie was $1.5, whereas in Mashion Bakery (Chinese bakery a block away) has 3 of these cookies for only $3 in a pack. The taste and texture was on point. Super buttery and rich. The customer service here was good, I would perhaps come again, but I prefer other Chinese bakeries. Also make sure you come EARLY as things sell out quickly.
