We had an amazing experience with Mora. I honestly never expected someone to care so much about her work. She managed to give a beautiful haircut to a moving baby. I never event thought it would be possible. Thank you!

Today I brought my 5 year old son to this kids hair salon! His hair is a nightmare I can’t believe my eyes! It seems that he cut his own hair (he would have done a much better job) never going back …never ever!

My son had his first haircut at Chiquicuts. We couldn't be more impressed with the level of service. The hairstylist was amazing. She was experienced, friendly and did her job quickly and efficiently. The price was very reasonable and we will be back!

My toddler talks about Vilma all the time. She’s so warm and kind- he loves going to see her! (His first cut with her was after a disastrous attempt at another salon- Vilma cured him of his fear!) bonus is that she cuts his hair very well and very fast!

We cannot thank Chiquicuts enough for a great birthday party for our 6 year old daughter! The stylists and party planner were wonderful with all the kids! Amazing experience… my son usually goes crazy when getting a haircut at a local barber shop but the environment at chiquicuts was so kid friendly. He loved playing in the car seats as they cut his hair, and they also played coco melon for him and made him feel so comfortable. Would definitely recommend to everyone I know.

Do not make an appointment, it's useless. I booked an appointment at 5 pm, arrived at 10 to 5. There was 1 person in the place when I arrived. She was served before me. Fair enough. Then another person came in, and went before me. I asked the lady at the front (distinctive feature - a piercing in the center nostril) what was happening, I had an appointment. She said I was next. OK. Then 2 people came in, who seemed to know the center nostril piercing lady, and got their haircut before me. I could not at the front to raise loudly my frustrations, the other children would not have deserved to hear that. Finally, I got served at 5: 25 by a black lady, who was great with my daughter. She was the one satisfaction I got from this place. I recommend Pretty Handsome in Riverside South instead.

We took our daughter for her first trim yesterday. Vilma was very kind, patient and our daughter felt at ease throughout the visit. Will certainly return. Thank you Vilma!

Wonderful experience with Shala for our 2 yo boy who is very tough to convince to get his hair cut! She was quick, understand, loving and thorough.

This is a great place to cut your children's hair. Each chair has a television and the child is distracted while the professionals work. Your child will have a candy at the end of the haircut.

Ann cut my twins' hair this morning and was so patient with my very upset little guy. Really happy with our experience today!

Very disappointed with our sons hair cut here. They didn’t take any time to try and do what we asked for. Seemed as though they were trying to get us out the door as quickly as possible. This resulted in a very poor job, nothing close to resembling the source photos we provided.

Had appointments set up, after I told them what I need it they cancel the appointment saying they didn't have
enough time without offering any other alternative. I had a 40 min booked to remove my daughter hair knot and all I need it was for them to work on it for that 40 min at least and they just told me they would need more time and they cancel the appointment.

My 3 year old t really enjoyed her experience. It is a bit overstimulating so if your child is sensitive to a lot of noise and bright lights, etc it may not be the best spot! But overall she had fun and got a nice hairstyle out of the experience

I called for appointment and they confirmed, after we had everything planed. They just called and canceled my appointment and without any reasons. Very disappointed at their service.
Since the kids first haircut with them, we had been going their for 10 years. NO MORE come back!

My son went for his first haircut ever and of course he did not sit still and kept moving which is very expected for a first time cut. He is 3 years, the time booked should be more than 10 mins for a first cut
His lines are way uneven and the cut is terrible. And when i asked her to cut a bit more towards the end she said sorry i have other people waiting i have no time we close at 5 and this took way longer than expected

We have always had positive experiences at Chiquicuts. Anne is amazing, she is so gentle and patient. My son is scared of the new setting and she helps so much to calm him down - and his hair always looks amazing after. She is truly gifted to be able to give such a great haircut to a squirmy crying toddler. Thank you Anne!

Absolutely loved our experience here! Went in for my 16 month old son’s first haircut and they were amazing with him. Our stylist was Pargol and she was so sweet and great with my son. She did exactly as I asked with his hair, was quick and efficient, and so friendly with him that he just thought it was playtime:) They even give out a little first haircut certificate with his name and a cute box with a lock of his cut hair. Would recommend this place and Pargol to anyone! We will definitely be going back.

Amazing service and haircut! Ann, and Mary cutted the hair of my son. They were both very patient with him and gave him a nice haircut. Great spot to cut your kids hair.

Save your money if your kids have curly hair. They have no clue what to do with curly hair. 20 seconds after I went over to see why she couldn't do her job, hair was detangled after I did it. She didn't have a wide toothed comb, OR detangler on hand. IN A HAIR SALON. She had to "go to the back" and get hair cream and then I did her job FOR HER. This was a black stylist, and she clearly needs more training if she can't even comb curly hair. Overall, not a good choice for curly kids, take them elsewhere with a more competent staff. All of this was after they were 30 minutes late for the appointment as well. Luckily we left without my kid bald because I swooped in to fix the mess she made of it.

A salon that you can trust especially for 1st cuts and children that are scared while cutting their hair. Staff is extremely nice and patient, the hairdressers are patient and very calm with the kids. They accommodate the childrens needs and are very good hairstylists. Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere and cute little play area for kids. Some of the staff are impatient with fussy kids! But overall good experience and reasonable prices!

Wonderful.it was first ever haircut of my toddler i was expecting he is gonna cry alot.their setup cars screen everything was so attractive for my boy that it was so easy.staff was also good

The salon was a great experience for my kids. With restrictions lifting, the salon was packed however the receptionist was the most amazing person I've ever had to talk to. There were 3 hair dressers going and while the appointments were transitioning she had to cash out the others, screen the new people, change the TV show or movie, answer the phones and even help the hair stylist sweep the hair. While balancing and prioritizing all of that she was so kind and accommodating. My son was somewhat nervous and after the others were settled she came back and started talking to my son about Paw Patrol. What she did was not something she had to do by all means nor would I have expected her to considering everything she had to balance. After the haircut my son turns to her and says "Emma I didn't cry" and she was so happy for him! He has not stopped talking about his haircut since this morning so I figured it was worth sharing with others, My experience with Emma and Vilma today was fantastic. Chiquicuts definitely cares about the customers experience!

It was perfect:) My child enjoyed it. The decoration, the little cars the kids sit in and the TV shows that are chosen according to the kids age, were all part of the nice experience.

Baby’s first haircut was so enjoyable with Shelley B! It is very clean and so cute with fairytale-themed décor in the salon and race car seats and an individual TV playing Paw Patrol at every station. Shelley was excellent, so amazing with my 13 month old - put him right at ease, worked around him moving his head, and was able to use clippers to get a close cut on the sides, a bit of a fade - as requested by me. The appointment was quick, the result was amazing (we are getting so many compliments on his haircut!), and it ended with a box of baby’s curls to take home, a first haircut certificate, and a little toy. 100% recommend taking your baby here!

The stylist named Karen was great! It was my son's first haircut and she was able to do a terrific job even though he was moving all over! She took her time and was very thorough. It was a very good first experience for my son.

Great first experience here! COVID protocols were followed, and they were really patient and awesome with my child with ASD. After the haircut, which was well done by Shelley, they allowed to him check out the "fashion show" room in the back. They even turned on the disco lights for him and he had a blast!

Really happy with our experience with my daughter's first cut. She got a certificate of bravery. Our hairdresser was patient and even took the time to braid her very fine hair which was impressive! Highly recommend if your child like paw patrol.

HORRIBLE! To be honest even writing this I'm getting so infuriated.
I called yesterday at 12: 30pm to see if they had availability for my son and informed them he had long hair, I was told to come at 2: 45-provided my information and made the reservation.

We arrived at the salon at 2: 47 and told we were far to late for our appointment, naturally after driving a hour from the country and being refused for being 3 min late was frustrating but that was just the beginning.

The receptionist reluctantly agreed to ask the stylist if she was still able to fit me in, and then proceeded to ignore me for over 15min while making call backs sitting there. I approached her again as we were all still in our jackets and boots unsure if we were going to be seen or not as she had never gotten up to confirm with the stylist.
I was informed she hadn't asked yet because the stylist was still working on the client that had a appointment before my son.

Now I want to clarify in no way is this a issue with us having to wait longer as I fully understand things sometimes run late, my issue is that as soon as I arrived I was told we were too late for our apt by being 3 min late and now found out even if we were onetime our stylist still wasn't ready 20min after our scheduled time.

When I explained how I didn't mind waiting but was a little frustrated I was initially being turned away for being 3min late for a appointment I had made in advance when the stylist still wasn't ready for us. The receptionist then getting annoyed of me for simply trying to figure out what was going on told me reluctantly that either way they would see us when she was done, I appreciated the information and honoring our appointment and continued to wait with my son.

I had now been at the salon for roughly 40min trying to keep my son from getting restless so we went to go look at the star wars masks in front of the receptionist and this is when I started to get EXTREAMLY aggravated. I picked up my son to see them to which the receptionist looked at me and asked "Is that Wesley? ". Yes.he is the only child with me and we have been here for 40min me talking to you with him on my hip. Then I was told that there was no way they were going to fit me in now because he had long hair and they only put him down for a 15min slot. I TOLD THEM WHEN I BOOKED IT WAS FOR A BOY WITH LONG HAIR CUT! I was simply brushed off and told that whoever took my reservation never marked that down. THATS NOT MY PROBLEM!
I even asked if we could go do some shopping and come back if there was a time frame that worked as we drove a hour to get there from Quebec. I was told "everyone who comes does some sort of traveling"
Yes that's fine I understand people don't teleport however I MADE A APPOINTMENT! I PROVIDED THE NECISARY INFORMATION, I WAITED ATLEAST 45MIN, I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE PUT THROUGH. And after all that I was turned away with no effort to resolve any of this. With a child bawling his eyes out because after all that and how he was so excited and picking out what chair he hoped to get we wasted hours of our day waiting and driving and gas when we tool all the proper steps and this place was just so unorganized and had zero accountability or customer service skills.

We had been once before and believe had Giselle which is why we came back today but after this not only will we never be back but hope others can avoid this terrible experience and waste of time.

The decor is why we are giving two stars, otherwise this place only deserves one.
You’d think that at a kids salon, the stylists they hire would actually like or care about kids.our stylist barely interacted with our child and when the cut was over, he had had hair all over him which she didn’t bother to remove. We asked her about this and her response was to toss us a cloth and tell us to do it ourselves! We had way better service at an adult salon where all the stylists were super excited to see a little one and gave him the royal treatment. Won’t be bothering much with these kid salons in the future.

Our 3 year old kid loves it and he’s looking forward to his next haircut, which is quite impressive! The staff knows how to deal with kids and they are friendly.

Sep 25,2019. Can someone please explain how it's possible the person on the other end of the phone is unable to confirm the confirmation received by email just to make sure and then proceeds to give the customer a whole bunch of attitude and trying to re-book the appointment knowing full well it's not the customer's fault? And then proceeds to hang up on a frustrated customer. I don't care if May is having a bad day, she should not have a job dealing with the public. Definitely not impressed.

Sep 26,2019. Upon hearing from the ownership of the franchise I am satisfied that they would like to make it right and turn a negative experience into a learning experience, They expressed they would really like us to give them a second chance. We appreciate this, and tentatively accept the offer. I would be more than willing to update my review at that point. Thank you.

First time there. Was recommended by family.

While the place has lots of appealing decor, I thought the stylist wasn't particularly pacient/know how to handle a 2yrs old. One would expect they have tricks to get them through some of the most challenging/boring parts of the process (like dealing with hair falling on the face).

Will try it again and update if the experience is different

We've taken my son her a few times and everytime it has gone well. He is an energetic 2 year old but they are able to get him to sit still long enough to get his hair cut.

My 3 year old wont let me get his haircut anywhere else. The staff are always great regardless of who provided the service. I highly recommend.

Only reason that I'm not reviewing them as 1 star is that the location and service is decent. What isn't is arriving 5 minutes before my son's appointment (3: 30) and him not getting seen until 3: 57.

Our stylist was Vilma and she did a 4/10 job. Did not listen to what we asked for and was very judgy.

For the high price of $25 I would expect a bit more punctuality and more professionalism. I might look into other child-friendly hair salons in the future if this continues to be a trend.

Their haircuts are not amazing, it’s just a fun place for kids but they don’t really know how to do a haircut I’ve tried two different people, and now there is this massive Batman that freaks out my daughter so it’s not even a fun place anymore, I wish there is more kids haircut salons in Ottawa cause I’m not coming here again
