The lake is not the cleanest you can find, no matter what time of the year. In my most recent visit, the beach was filled with geese poops and almost impossible to get into water without squishing some! The entrance fee for what is offered is definitely overpriced. Also for getting in, there are self-served ticket machines which only has one option for entrance ticket which defies the info they have on their website! Ive been disappointed by the fact that there is never anyone at the gate to help with the entrance or anything else.

Waste of time fof biking. Trials are not marked in any way. Big puzzle and they rip 16cad from car and 5 per person.

Beach Pavilions great access to lake and fields for group sports. Easy access to washrooms, and lots of electrical outlets. Staff were evident keeping the park cleaned up.
One suggestion: we had two people report hornet stings, one due to nest in the volleyball pit sand (near beach pavilion 2). Also the sand seemed a bit packed and either shallow or hard. Some quick maintenance on that volleyball pit including raking to break up any wasp infestations, and maybe a top-up on the sand volume might be good.
Loved the experience otherwise. Will come again.

Nice beach, shallow water, good for picnic in the large park facing the beach.

Nice place!

Trails: They are very poorly laid out. Follow my pictures carefully, and they will show you the path to find the falls. It will save you a lot of hassle. A couple of pictures are out of order, but I state that in a comment on my picture. To find the falls, start at the McCoy Pavilion. Stand and look out, and you will see a break in the trees (see my pic because there a number of breaks in the trees). Follow the yellow marked disk golf path, which is easier to follow. Find the multi-purpose trail sign (my pic that shows a horse). Then, cross the dam and immediately turn left. Find the "water control device" marker. Lastly, turn left at the two yellow signs that say "Warning: Dam upstream. "

Trail options: You can walk, bike, or go horseback riding.

Activities: Boat rentals are closed this year, but people brought their own kayaks and canoes. There is a boat launch area and a dock. You can go swimming on a sandy beach. There is a disk golf section. You can BBQ here or use a fire pit. You can follow the poorly laid trails on a very poorly drawn map. Christie's Falls is beautiful. Don't miss it. Be careful not to step on baby frogs at the falls; there are so many tiny brown ones. We were able to climb on the rocky surface of the falls, and then climb down it and stand right in front of it. Beautiful!

Picnic areas: They have picnic tables, BBQ grills, and fire pits. There are several picnic areas.

Busyness: On the weekend, it wasn't very busy. It is a huge place. However, I saw a large car lineup on our way out. We went in the morning.

Payment: This place is free with a HCA pass.

Washrooms: They have washrooms with running water and flushing toilets.

Pavilions: They have pavilions to rent for parties. They have picnic tables and safe drinking water from a tap.

Parking: There is a ridiculous number of parking lots throughout the conservation area, and they are either deserted or have quite a bit of space left. The McCoy Pavilion parking lot was one of the busier ones. Parking is free.

Had a nice little barbecue/picnic at this really nice riverside park. We had about 3 families go to the park and it was nice because each group had enough space to chill and relax without having to worry about others coming in our space. Water was nice, lots of tadpoles near shore though. Great place for boating. Would definitely recommend this park.
