Thanks to Joseph for always looking after me. I’m not a resident and don’t do a lot of business with CIBC, but he treats me the same as his bigger clients. I always get a callback usually within an hour. Glad I found him!

CIBC Customer Service,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I encountered during my visit to the CIBC branch today. As a loyal client since 2004, entrusting all my financial affairs - including bank accounts, RSPs, mortgage, and investments - with CIBC, I naturally expected a level of customer service that aligns with the institution's esteemed reputation. Unfortunately, my experience today was disheartening and far from satisfactory.
My initial encounter with Teller Emil was less than ideal. Despite possessing all the necessary information, he appeared hesitant to assist with a straightforward question. This initial interaction left me dissatisfied and prompted me to discontinue further engagement with him.
Seeking assistance for mortgage-related inquiries, we were directed to AFS Dannia Kamakh, Regrettably, Ms. Kamakh displayed a lack of interest in helping, exhibited arrogance, and seemingly took our inquiries personally. This interaction was frustrating and not reflective of the standard of service I have come to expect from CIBC.
These kind of service is what not surprised gives this branch the score of 3.7

Do not bring your gold to this location, or any CIBC branch, you will surely find it missing. Wish I had the option to put negative five stars: (

I beg you not to trust this branch or CIBC for that matter, I had my valuables taken out of my safety (so called safety) deposit box by one of the employees. Instead of admitting their faults, PR and not being called out for a scandal is unfortunately more important to this branch and company. AVOID THIS BRANCH AT ALL COSTS TRUST ME AND IF YOU HAVE ANY VALUABLES MAKE SURE TO TAKE PHOTOS AS THEY MIGHT GO MISSING.

CIBC - 1 TORONTO STREET. Despite short staffed & long queues staff did a great job taking care of all customers. Good bankers will always be that. Fantastic. (October 20,2022).
For some strange reason there were many staff sitting in cubicles on their computers, who could have easily stepped out to help, front staff are slogging away! No one did.
In a previous visit (June or July 2022), Interestingly, branch head (South Asian Origin) helpfully asked us to sit in one such empty cubicle (first one) to await our turn, (given long queues) but the cubicle owner on his return, promptly asked us to get out - much to the embarrassment of the office manager / supervisor!
We stepped out, experience remains.
So much for multi reporting matrix structure folks under one roof!
Irrespective of matrix, an office manager must be single point of authority for client service.
Otherwise there are always experiences like this to explain away….

My wife and I have been using Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce at 1 Toronto Street, Toronto branch since 1994, we used this branch for both business and personal banking, as you can see for the past 30 years we have moved to 6 different homes in GTA, but our banking with this branch always remains the same, the staff at this branch are always there for you, the service is amazing no waiting time, there is always someone to receive you at the door, friendly staff, friendly environment and friendly CIBC branch (1 Toronto Street).
