This is the worst bank in the city the staff act like they don’t have a line up the managers don’t care about getting people in and out they seems like they prefer a lot of people and some staff need too understand that people have places too go this is not a coffee shop if you want too chat about things that have nothing too do with banking in a bank then grab each other’s number but all in all this is a horrible branch fire everybody and start fresh

Came here to open a debit and credit card for me and my fam (4 people total). Fast and efficient, was helped by Farid (hopefully spelled the name right) who have been extremely nice, polite and helpful, answered all our questions with a smile and patience. Thanks a lot.

UPDATE FROM A MONTH LATER: No one from CIBC emailed to comment on my posting and to help me out. Why not? BMO comments right away about their reviews, including a response the same day for one of my posted reviews on a BMO branch. CIBC just doesn't care! Terrible! If I could give a zero star review, I would do so. I am so upset with CIBC but am STUCK with them as POA for my elderly family member.

PREVIOUS POSTING FROM A MONTH AGO:
WORST BANK BRANCH EVER and I'm not impressed with CIBC at all based on a variety of unnecessary problems that I've encountered with them multiple times over the years as a POA/Executor for my family members and co-owners of their accounts. If I wasn't STUCK keeping these accounts, I would switch to my own bank. I've never had such problems with BMO, TD Bank and RBC as POA/Executor so don't understand what's going on with CIBC, especially at this branch. Upsets me so very much. I HATE going there.

For at least four years, since our usual Financial Advisor at this branch had retired, there has been a revolving door of staff members in that job. It's impossible for me to keep track of who is supposed to be giving professional advise for us, as needed, because the staff keeps changing. It's a nuisance to send emails because of privacy issues and password protection, blah, blah.

Back in April 2022, I patiently stood in line at this branch and asked the experienced Teller if I could talk to the Financial Advisor. No, the latter had been promoted to Bank Manager and was too busy to talk to me. That's exactly what she emailed to the Teller to inform me without any apology or promise to do anything. So, I asked the Teller to find out for me to whom I should speak with and was promised a call back to me. Never happened.

So, I had sent a complaint email to someone who had told me before by email that if I had any problems with anyone at this branch, to advise that person. I never got a reply after this April complaint.

About two weeks ago, that same branch Teller couldn't say who my Financial Advisor was supposed to be, promised to call me and it didn't happen. Waste of my time going there.

There are other complaints that I could say here about various other issues, e.g. The handling of Estate matters but can't go into details here, obviously. Just warning you that you might be better off switching banks before you or your family members die and then it will be too late. It's stressful enough dealing with everything in settling an Estate without having to go through this needless nonsense where no one wants to willingly take responsibility at the bank - that's called customer service! In my case, there has not been enough communication with me as a customer!

I've always been polite so that's not my problem in how I've been communicating with them. They told me before that I can't switch bank branches because I have to stick with this particular bank branch as the home branch. Not fair to me!

There is no comparison between CIBC in general and this deplorable CIBC bank branch to my wonderful bank branch where I have NO problems at all on anything. My Bank Manager proactively jumps in to help the tellers and the customers, myself included. Five star service!

I would NOT recommend that anyone go to this CIBC bank branch based on my own bad experiences. It really upsets me. Others might have better results but, sadly, I have not.

Manager and staff have to be more sensitive or understanding when dealing with seniors. Train your staff to ask for help (20 min staring at screen - is wrong). Or was staff waiting for the line to get long, forcing manager to help.

Why is the manager never there or at least someone to deputy him. I was trying to see the manager as I was trying to have my account closed and redirected to him for that. They never pick up their phone or return voice emails either and this doesn't apply to the general helpline but even the banking centre's extension which is 222.

I wish I could rate this branch “zero stars”. After conferring with CIBC’s customer service department earlier in the day by phone, I went in to this branch on October 17 at 6: 45 pm to open an account to transfer money from my Visa (I had overpaid my Visa card). I had been told I did not need to book an appointment. There was ONE teller working. With no explanation, the teller referred me to the bank manager who told me she “didn’t have much time to help me” because she had an appointment at 7. She then told me to come to her office. While following her to her office I asked why I had to go to her office as I just wanted to open a simple account. She whirled around to face me and told me she was “doing me a favour”, and that’s how it was done -! I was stunned at her attitude and anger, told her she was extremely rude and that I didn’t want an account after all, and I turned to walk out. She followed me, exclaiming that she was not rude. I have never in my life encountered such poor people skills and lack of customer service. And now I have to phone CIBC again to ask how to get MY money back!

Went in here tonight and one person was working the front desk which is ridiculous considering they are only open past 5 three days a week. There were several people in line and the woman in front of me was taking forever. I just went there for some toonies and by the time I got to the front she rudely complained about people standing in the wrong spot in line. She then proceeded to ask me to take a seat after I asked for the roll and took the next customer. The safe is right beside her and I truly think she made me wait out of pure spite that I was "standing in the wrong spot". Every other time I've been here I've promptly been handed my change and never had to wait. She clearly enjoyed her little power trip. Terrible customer service.
