Shame on this bank and banking procedures, I am glad for not taking my business banking with them.
Their clearing house is overnight.
The hold for Canadian banking U. S draft is 20 business days lol.
I did a draft from NBC USD account to CIBC USD, was expecting hold for 5 days, no issues make sense.
These intelligent spicemens want to hold it for 20 business days.
Customer service and other branch said accidently they termed the deposit as cross border and I have to visit deposit branch for removing hold.
These intelligent specimens says no it has to be on hold for 20 days, Sorry 20 business days. **They did not disclose the 20 days hold at time of deposit**, I was presuming 5 days being canadian Institution to Canadian institution.
Good luck. Glad I decided to close the account.
I took it to BMO and they started to laugh at CIBC.
Shady banking is CIBC way.
Note: The teller is very good, she tried her best to keep my business and speak to Manager. But the manager doesn't want customers to bank. RIP CIBC

Went there for a transfer and oh what a terrible experience. No more banking transfers for me. I am moving all my transactions to wise.
