Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Dundas and VIP

I've only watched a movie here once, and it was a good experience. Can't give this place 5 stars though because of A) the smell around dundas square due to the homelessness and drug problem and B) the fact my Univeristy makes people take lectures in the movie theaters.

Go to Scotia bank instead, twice in one movie random people who clearly didn’t pay for the tickets showed up and were really loud, everyone told them to shut up but it totally ruined the whole experience and when we told staff they just told the people to “try and be quiet” instead of escorting them out

Arrived for a VIP movie a bit early so we could eat in the lounge first. We arrived at 11: 45 and were told they didn’t open until 12 and they would come by in 10-15 minutes to take our orders. 12: 10-15 rolls around and there are masses of staff wandering around, but no one coming over. We went up to the bar to ask and were informed the kitchen wasn’t open yet. Then we were told we could go up to the bar to place our order, since the wait staff had failed to arrive yet. The level of miscommunication was ridiculous. If we had just been told from the start when the kitchen ACTUALLY opened we would have just gone to eat somewhere else. What the hell did we pay $25 PER PERSON for? !? !

24 theatres at the same spot. Always releases great and broad selection of films including vintage and classics. I wish it had outtakes but the VIP lounge is pretty dope. Great food and service.

Great place at an amazing location. It is at Yonge and Dundas square which is the most eventful place at all times. Even if you go to view late show, it never disappoints you. The crowd is great and energy is always high. The only thing I could mention that I think could improve is the seating. Seats were too close and if you sit in the middle, it feels cramped up. But rest was amazing!

Cineplex provides a great movie-watching experience with modern theaters, technology, and snacks.

If you want to take an steam sauna at the same time watching a 4DX movie, then it is a good theatre. I went there to watch new Mission Impossible, but the salon was not breathable. Worst than that is it was not a one time problem. I went there two month ago to watch Fast X and the situation was same. It is funny that they charge you full price, but do not even provide a ventilation. I could not watch the movie and had to leave few times to get some air. It was disappointing.

My favourite movie theatre. Location is perfect, the rooms are great and they always have many options of movies and showtimes.

One of my favorite theatres of all time. Different show formats at different prices. From low to high price. The vip with restaraunt and in theatre lounge chair waiters is suchea pampering!

It’s a good movie theater, with several cinemas. The seats are not fancy or reclining, but they’re decent and comfortable.

No clear sign on the fire exit inside the cinema, if you entered the wrong exit, you will probably get locked out for at least 5mins.

I usually go to carlton or market square. Attended dundas square over the Christmas weekend. Crazy bigger prices and you end up watching more than 40 minutes of commercials. Won't go back.

V. I. P is a good thing to try but either way the place is large, well maintained and nicer than most other Cineplex places. Great place to take people.

The seats in imax and vip are old and tore up. It was like sitting on razors. For these prices they should be replaced.

The customer service here is great but this theatre is in bad shape.

VIP seats are a joke. Sharing bathroom with other theaters that has 10 year old stalls. Not worth the price here. Has no standards compared to Yonge and Eglinton cineplex VIP. That one is way better.

Pretty typical cineplex. Some of the older screens need repairs on chairs. But the renovated theaters are nice.

Renee who was working concessions tonight (28/12/18) was extremely rude. She called me over to serve me because I was next in line, when I got there he ignored me and began serving a younger looking couple who just came threw the entrance.

She laughed at me and said "I said they'd be next".

Not the customer experience I would want my staff to be giving.

This theatre seems to frequently attract the worst audiences; people constantly on their phones and the staff doesn’t do a thing about it.

I like this theatre a lot. Only downside is when the good movies are only in VIP so you have to pay extra but I don’t know if that’s a corporate thing. I like don’t having to go outside from the subway too.

The environment is pretty clean, the seats are comfortable, overall I would say this cinema is better than average.

The inside of the theatre was dingy and not a nice decor. We picked 2 seats in the centre and they did not have firm backs so we moved seats. But the worst part was having to sit through a half hour of commercials. The movie time was 6: 45. The commercials started at 6: 30 and continued until 7: 00. I dont mind 5 to 10 commercials but 30 is unreasonable. I felt so angry by the time the movie started that I'm thinking about boycotting the movie theatre experience and staying home.

Saw multiple movies there. Its huge and real definition of multiplex.

Free parking in the garage nearby, new cinema so the interior is very nice, washrooms clean, great experience in general. Love the in-seat service prior to the movie starting. A regular spot for me.

Wow, this place has really declined in the past few years. The experience no longer feels VIP at all. First of all, the VIP cinemas share a bathroom with the rest of the theatre. And they were absolutely disgusting during tonight's visit. Also the theatre itself is pretty worn down. Even the churros, which used to come with 3 flavours of dipping sauce now only come with one. The service however is still as good as ever. Their staff are genuinely friendly and polite. They were the only redeeming part of the experience.

Edit: Went to Incredibles 2 and a few minutes into the movie the sound and movie completely stopped. After 5 minutes of sitting in a dark theater an employer finally turns on the lights and tells us that the movie will be delayed by "5-10 minutes". 25 minutes later the movie was finally able to start again. The edit and the updated review is because they contacted us afterwards and apologized which I felt was good of them.

VIP has spoiled me. No kids. Alcohol. Seat service. Real food. Assigned seating. Worth the extra price.

This is really one of my best cinemas experience of all time I love the VIP section and there service plus the staff are really friendly and cool, helpful and professional in the VIP section. They have a nice testy food I have ever had in cinemas.

The IMAX cinema has a good screen and great audio. The chairs are really comfy with heaps of leg room but most of them are squeaky and you can hear it as people shuffle around. Bit of oil to clear the squeaks and this would be 5*

I would like to point out and highlight that this theater provides international movies (Asian and Indian). I really do appreciate this theater supporting international movies as I enjoy watching them. Thumbs up to whoever is choosing which movie to put on the theater. I watch movies from here almost every weekend, and I had no issues regarding VIP (remember to bring ID), 4DX, food, etc. The only issue I had was there were some delay for The Incredibles 2 but they gave free ticket to everyone after, which was great.

This is a very good theater. I have been here numerous times over the years when in the Yonge-Dundas area.

The seats in the theatre are comfortable and the temperature is appropriate year-round. If you want to catch a flick, you cannot go wrong with this place.

Usually super busy and doesn’t have the best selection of movies. Always has blockbusters, but you’re lucky to get a decent seat. Always buy ahead.

Went to go see Incredibles 2 also. There was a delay unfortunately due to technical difficulties but the staff was kind and had given us a full refund for our show. Still had an amazing time
