Cineplex Odeon Ajax Cinemas

The place is a ghost town, smelly theatre, old seats that would not even slide, and worst of all if you are early there is no place to wait but go to stinky movie theatre. Will never go again.

I went there many times
screen of every hall is dark and blur (you can’t see the actors properly)

Worst class theatre experience. I have seen the worst out of the worst theaters but this stands out all of them

Very Very Uncomfortable seating.

Landmark cinemas In Whitby has way better seats available, comfortable and reclining.

The only reason to visit Cineplex is that sometimes Landmark doesn't screen all the movies you wanna watch.

Cineplex in North Oshawa has seats are somewhat comfortable but this theatre omg gives you a back ache as you are leaving after the movie.

Ajax Cineplex is terrible. Not handicap accessible at all. No handrails in the theater. No reclining seats. Old and worn out. This place needs a major reno. The only redeeming factor was the staff, who were all pleasant and helpful.

Worst experience, screen resolution was towards one side and for first 15 to 20 min it is half screen with blur.

There are no option to put negative stars. Worst experience in lifetime. Please try to avoid this movie theatre. For all the issues we emailed to customer care but no reply in last 3 days. Ridiculous management

Old, slow service and not so well maintained, considering where I live and I find Pickering Town Centers VIP so much better. If it weren’t for the regional movie I wanted to watch, would have stuck to this.

Recently I took my pal Benjamin and his best friend, Jacob to watch Black Panther: Wakanda Forever it was a great experience but there were many flaws in this establishment. For one the chairs were sticky and uncomfortable, However I do enjoy going here because it is often vacant and not too busy, sometimes I even have the theater to myself! But this can lead to problems of teenagers engaging in public displays of affection that ruined the experience and traumatized my little fella Benjamin. He keeps asking me what they were doing I'm trying to make these questions come to a halt as he is only eight and three quarters! Please try and stop people from engaging in public displays of affection.

We booked our tickets for 9: 45pm show.
We arrived at the theater at 9: 55 and the doors were closed.
The staff locked the doors from inside.
It was freezing outside, and we were trying to knock the door to open it, but no one cared to check and were ignoring that someone is waiting outside.
Staff busy on phone, using airpods and not even interested in scanning our tickets at the the entrance because he was busy on a call.
Horrible experience at this location and very unprofessional.

Been coming here so often with a friend. Definitely showing its age but it offers a lot of theater booths so that's a plus. Good place to go if other popular movies are full during premiere nights.

Overall it is good. But there is ample room for improvement when it comes to seats.the seats are kind of small and there is no recliner. I wish atleast the last two rows had recliner seats

The theatre is too small, it needs a renovation. I felt like my knees were going to hit the seats in front of me barely any leg room.

Would give it an extra star if the seats were more comfortable like landmark, no comment on the concession prices lol.clean and good customer service

A really good cinema with lots of parking space. Good if someone trying to avoid traffic and take that route as there is not much rush in Ajax area.

Absolutely disgusted in this garbage theater let's start off with the seats all other theaters in durham recline but ok I get it they haven't caught up with the times but the arm rests don't even go up I am a tall guy I had to stetch My legs out to the side as the space inbetween seats was very limited and if I sat up straight My legs would be crushed by the arm rests which are firmly in place let's move over to concession I bough a 10 dollar pop which was absolutely absurd but I wanted the dark Phoenix collectors cup guess if I got a free refill on a 10 cent drink which cost Me 10 dollars and every other theater happily provides to You if You guessed yes I did get a free one then You have guessed wrong and haven't been paying attention at all I will never ever EVER be returning to this garbage theater nor will I ever be purchasing anything at any cineplex ever again what an abslute garbage theater

The choice of time was perfect, will go at 1450 again. Nice Father's Day with family. Young man that served was a true customer representative. A future manager or owner in the makings.

I mean it’s a theatre, it serves its purpose but they need a make over. This place is run down, the staff look depressed and lazy. Why is there no one working at the ticket booths? Get the machines from out of there. I don’t see this cineplex lasting very long and that’s sad because it’s been there for quite some time now.

Its great that you're in Ajax and love the variety of movies shown here like the Bollywood movies, but you guys NEED new seats.

Seating is very uncomfortable and the seats don’t even go back. Cramped space and no leg room. Popcorn was terrible. The washrooms were no clean at all. Terrible experience.

The movie was full but the seats were fine and the service at the concession was great. Used scene points to reduce cost.

This place needs a massive upgrade. The general lobby, washrooms and theatre was disgusting. The movie theater was also the old style which was uncomfortable and cramped.

The movie theatres are usually quiet (went to see Avengers: Endgame and there was maybe 25 people in the theatre, one week in. Always very dirty though. My shoes were sticking to the floor.

It's a great Cineplex and I like the staff. But the game arcade there needs a lot of work. The air hockey hardly has any air come out, which was disappointing, needs to be updated.

Went to go see Avengers endgame the cedar staff was attentive even though it was quite busy it did their best to get people through the concessions and into the theater to their respective seats stop very helpful and I was a good spot to see a movie not a large theater but all the same and that attention to detail goes a long way

HVAC was not working during the film. Ticket self serve kiosks were not working. If it wasnt the opening weekend of avengers endgame we would have walked out.

I paid for a movie an hour and a half in advance only to be refused entry because of audio issues in the theater. The staff knew days prior to the movie that there were issues with the speaker sound. And yet NOTHING was done. But it gets worse. I booked for the same movie scheduled to play 3 hours later and was refused because management had double booked the seats. This was the most piss poor management I've ever seen for a movie priemer in my life! Do better!

This a blemish on the Cineplex brand. I could hear noise from other screens. Seating is uncomfortable and popcorn is overpriced as gasoline in Trudeau government.

Pretty cramped with uncomfortable seating. Good screening and audio though. Overpriced popcorn as usual, couldn't rate as I never buy it. The floor in the cinema is sticky, I assume because of leftover drinks. Extremly old. Good selection of movies. I would recommend going to a landmark cinema if you could

There was a good selection of movies. The Concession prices were way too high for what you got. The floors were very messy, and so were the seats and cup holders. Lots of parking spaces available.

One of my favorite cinemas around but popcorn can be soggy, sound system can be better and making it VIP would be amazing

This theater needs a face lift. Screens are outdated and the slant in the movie theater sucks. I recommend getting the top seats of the theater. Cheap Tuesday deals (cheaper than the other Cineplexs')

The place needs some major upgrades. Under staffed during March break events making it stressful and longer than it needed to be.

I want to start by saying thank you for offering $2.99 movies through March Break. What an amazing idea. But having only 2 staff working? Those poor people. We waited almost 40 mins *after arriving 30 mins BEFORE* the movie to just make it to the ticket checker. Thank fully I had purchased my tickets before arriving. In line there had to be over 100 people, many of them small kids. After making it in to the movie late it was time for someone to go out and wait in the snack line. Usually not an issue. But today you had ONE person at the snack bar who was also responsible for taking ticket purchases. That poor women, dealing with the huge line all alone

Chairs aren't comfortable, but other than that it's a perfectly fine theatre with a nice little arcade

It's technically up to date, but needs a complete Reno, the lobby is congested, concession stand is cramped. And the theatres all though spacious. Have the old style chairs probably purchased in bulk at discount. Audio was clear but lack luster. Would not recommend a future visit unless the whole theatre was updated

I love this cinema. I go here on a weekly basis. I love to see movies in the theatre. The staff ate awesome here. If you have a complaint or inquiry they do theif best to find a solution. The theatres are small but I like that cozy feeling. It is very clean here. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Gaming machines are broken. Went to the concession stand ask to get our money back informed the machines were broken kept eating tokens n when finally it turned on there was no puck for air hockey n basketball ramp got stuck for while before dropped. DID NOT GET OUR MONEY BACK GOT TOKENS. HMM. YES TO GO USE IN BROKEN MACHINES WE HAD THE FULL AMOUNT OF TOKENS TO EQUAL WHAT WE PAID $5.00

EXTREMELY UNMAINTAINED IT'S LIKE NOONE CARES TO LET IT LOOK RUN DOWN. Defin explained why it's always DEAD it's not clean seats are so uncomfortable no room. Extremely dirty inside cinema rooms

Good movie theatre, however, the seats are quite uncomfortable. Other than that, everything is else seems to be just fine.

Hard to go back to regular seating after sitting in big comfy loungers. But always a good thing when we come here

This Cineplex location does not have stadium style seating, the seating is cramped, the particular theater room (#3) I was in was small and crowded. Not sure what the other theater rooms are like, but if they're as small as that one, it's not good. Overall, the sound and picture quality were fine, but that's what you expect when you pay to go see a movie. Ajax has grown significantly since this theater was built and it's time for a new, bigger, updated layout to serve the customers.

I went to see a movie in the area. I was utterly shocked at how untidy the theater was kept. It was like walking into a popcorn apocalypse! The floor was covered in popcorn by the concession stand. Disgusting! After the movie it was the same thing! Mess everywhere including the washrooms. I have been to other Cineplex theatres they are immaculate. You see staff cleaning everywhere you walk. Exhibit A.the pics below dont really do it justice. What a dissapointment.

Recently saw Ralph Breaks the Internet. Poor quality pictures/screens and sound system. Also need to improve cleaning. Seems quite old, need renovations.

This theatre hasn't changed much, especially if you compare it to the other Cineplex locations nearby, it's pretty due for an upgrade.

There is reserved seating available but, it is NOT stadium style seating, meaning all the seats are on one level. Not ideal for a movie going experience. The theatres are also much older and have much older worn out seats.

This theatre is the worst. Tear it down and build a new one. Recommend going down the 401 to Landmark.
