Had the unfortunate experience trying to get mortgage rates with Citadel. We are a good income/credit family with no debt. They promised lower rates…while continually asking for more and more personal info. They require more info than any other bank/broker out there. Just when you think you are finished they will ask for more. Still unsure if we were just scammed for our personal info. It may work, but if you aren’t desperate than don’t waste your time.

Total Waste of time. They will ask ton of documents and later will not give any rates. How come Banks are offering better rates after less scrutiny?

I was trying to get a rate quoted for a renewal and these guys are requesting 15 different documents before giving me the rate, including CRA records for 2 yrs, 1 year bank statements, Condo financial statements, void cheques, and many many more. I understand all these are required if I was doing an application. Its just crazy.

We worked with Brett Heuscher to purchase a home in another province. There were a few obstacles to overcome and Brett was amazing in helping us to realize our goal. My friends were amazed that I could just send a text and get a reply to my broker pretty much anytime.

A lot of red flags here. Were very insistent they needed all the details and documents normally needed to finalize a mortgage in order to merely disclose the rates that are available. I can understand how that might be necessary for some more complicated situations. However for simple rates on uncomplicated mortgages any broker worth their salt will be able to tell you a rate that will roughly match what they are able to provide based on a few general questions (assuming you are not misleading). You don't need people's income and bank statements to do that.

I see a rather patronizing response to a previous reviewer who mentioned this issue so apparantly I am not alone in my experience.

Felt high pressure to submit application, an unwillingness to disclose information that other banks readily give.

UNLESS I would give and submit my approval to pull credit right then and there.they did answer most questions eventually, at one point I was left without response during live chat for almost 10-15 minutes until I had to ask again.

Felt like I wasn't worth there time and like my questions were bothering them.

Not providing a lot of confidence that they can handle such a big purchase, disappointed thought I stumbled upon something great.
