Super helpful staff and a great shopping experience, love how well curated and well merchandised the space is!

If you want to shop somewhere where your children are welcome and shopping is fun, this is not it. It is the most uncomfortable, unwelcoming, anxiety inducing shopping experience, and after spending a lot of money here over the years, I'm done. Be prepared for the owner to watch every move you make, follow you around the store, and scold your children if they touch anything. Someone should tell her who toys are for, and that her store isn't a museum! There's nothing here you can't get somewhere else, except maybe a dirty look and cold service. Anyway, there are plenty of other lovely, warm, friendly, fun, well stocked stores in and around Hamilton. I'd prefer to give my money to a business that likes kids and values their patronage, in a store where you can take a good look at the products without someone breathing over your shoulder, and I'd highly recommend anyone else do the same.

I used to love this store and have been a regular customer for years but I now feel uncomfortable shopping there again and don’t know if I will return. My husband and I were watched over and followed around while we were just trying to shop for our new little one and enjoy the day. The worst part is that there were several other people in the store, yet the individual working there today only followed us around and continuously asked us if we needed help and no one else, to the point where we felt embarrassed and as if we didn’t “belong” there. We still purchased several items that we’d gone in there looking for but I left feeling pretty insecure about myself and judged.

This store has a wonderful variety of toys for infant, toddlers and beyond, conveniently located on Locke were you can visit other small businesses and shops. We’ve purchased many toys for our toddler and also for gifts. The reason I can’t award it five stars is because the staff in general somewhat unwelcoming and at best, grumpy. It just seems like they don’t really like children there… or people in general. My advice is look at their site before you go so you kinda know what you’re looking for as they will ask you SEVERAL times and don’t bring your young kid with you. It will be uncomfortable.

Beautiful selection of high quality baby and preschooler toys and books. I appreciate that all of the staff were extremely friendly. They carry some toy brands that I have not seen at other toy shops. All staff wear masks which makes me want to return again. My kids love their new Paola Reina doll and crocodile cork gun.

Do you enjoy virtue signaling or claiming moral high ground? Well then this store is for you! Do you want to hide behind a mask when you shop? Then have no fear this store will gladly let you…or should I say, force you…I will literally never shop here again. 0/5 stars. You lost our business and will not be suggesting to our friends and family. Truly sad.

My daughter and grandson went in the store before Christmas to do some shopping but the sales clerk was following them around the entire time and made them feel very uncomfortable, so they left. I was waiting outside as there was a restriction on the number of people petmitted in the store. I have shopped in the store in the old location before and felt very welcomed but the staff in the new location very hovering over my grandson who was very well behaved. They lost her business that day. Yesterday we thought we would go in there for Easter shopping, but they had a mandatory mask mandate. Mask mandates have been lifted, so once again we did not enter and they lost our business again. We will shop at Toy Soup in St. Jacob which is a wonderful, welcoming toy store with a larger, better selection. As a resident of Locke Street I am very upset with Citizen Kid and the staff.

I've only ever ordered online, but great quality products, with quick shipping! I love the variety of toys for different age groups. I applaud you for keeping masks mandatory in your store to ensure safety for kids and others around you.

Absolutely love this store! I love buying quality toys from here for my daughter! They have a large selection of beautiful wooden toys and a lot of “vintage” style toys. Prices seem high, but honestly you’re paying for quality. Would highly recommend!

The care that goes into their curation is second to none. Staff are always friendly. I can honestly say we have never left empty handed.

I can’t rave enough about the excellent customer service I was provided. Our 4 year old daughter lost her beloved “Henry” (The Organic Tino Doll Bunny) and she was devastated. Although her original was orange, the manufacturer doesn’t make it anymore. We had her pick out a new one and she chose her favourite colour pink. My order was ready the very next morning and curbside pick up was quick and easy. We were saved many more tears and sleepless nights because of the quick turnaround. We are so grateful! We’ve shopped for a few things here and have always been happy, but especially so this time. Thank you so much!

Great local shop for Children’s toys in Hamilton. Toys are all very well made. I enjoy going there as much as the little one does!

Great local business. Yes everything is expensive.but their own margins aren't crazy its just the products they sell.
