My husband, Cam, has been driven to appointments for the last 5 years by the mobility team. They have been kind, caring, helpful and supportive. We couldn’t have asked for better people. Dispatch has been terrific. Our face to face contact has been with these wonderful human beings that drove Cam at least three times a week. Thank you so much

Drivers are really helpful when navigating the city. The ride is safe and comfortable to the destinations appointed.
A real important aspect of the drivers, next to passengers safety, is the ability to become somewhat of a psychologist, that is particular to each and every persons. The obviously effect can be rather very useful to the passenger, in the forms of advice, reassurance and information.

Awful experience would not recommend. Booked a cab the night before by calling the cab service for 6: 50 AM to drop me off at the GO station so I could catch the train into Toronto. Then I called in the morning at 6: 36 AM to confirm my booking which they did confirm. At 6: 50 AM no cab showed up. I called back at 6: 55 AM asking why there was a delay and was told I am in "priority queue". How can I be in a queue if I booked a cab the night before? Even if I was in a queue they should have advised me of that at 6: 36 AM when I called to confirm my appointment. Eventually I was told a cab was coming however it was almost 15 minutes later! Needless to say I missed my train and could not go into work. I usually use Uber/Lyft but assumed the cab service might offer more reliability given how early it was in the day. Clearly I was wrong. No wonder cab companies are consistently losing market share to ride services such as Uber and Lyft. If you want to compete in this market you need to offer more reliable services or at least be more transparent if you cannot offer adequate service

Edit: reviews does not allow me to respond to the vendors so adding this edit as a response to the below comment. I understand the weather can be unpredictable in Canada. However the duty of care lies with the vendor to adapt and be more transparent when this happens. When I called at 6: 36 AM, I'm sure the cabs were still getting stuck in the snow as the weather had been quite bad all night. It was at this time the dispatcher should have told me about these difficulties so that I could arrange for alternative transport. Of course hindsight it 20/20 so the least your company could do is offer me a complimentary trip or some sort of voucher for the inconvenience you caused. Other industries are held to high standards when service is subpar (for example when you find hair in your food at a restaurant they comp you for your meal) so there is no reason taxi services shouldn't be held to similar standards.

16km drive mid day, this man picks me up takes me 9km extra car ride, round and around the entire city. I called him out as i realize he's going the wrong direction. He pretends like he doesn't realize. 25km later he tries to charge me $62. Didn't pay quite that much in the end, but funny how i just took that drive the day before with another cab for $34 at the exact and- almost to the minute time-. See the problem here city cabs; when you do something like that for short term gain you lose in the long run. Bye felicia.

I have been using them since we landed in Canada. You could say almost daily since we have two small kids and were traveling in the winters.
They are great. Plus you get $2-3 discount if you book through their app which is just perfect because as new immigrants you can always use whatever discounts you get your way.
They have mostly friendly drivers and are very quick to arrive.

Cab left without my daughter after school, leaving her alone with no way home. Called a cab for my daughter as I do most days after school to get home. This is not a school account, it is charged directly to me. My daughter was late coming out and the cab left without her. He even stopped and told her too bad. Thank goodness for teachers seeing this and contacting me. She was late, I get that, but he just left her there with no way home. Completely irresponsible.

Waited for 45 minutes after asking that they notify me by phone call that the cab has arrived. Cab arrived and left. Never notified me. Better off to use Waterloo Taxi or United taxi as this is something city cabs does frequently. One.time they left my grandmother and I standing out in the rain because when I did get the phone call the cabbie couldn't be bothered to wait a minute for us to get around from the back of the house which I told the dispatcher that we would be doing so the cabbie could accommodate my elderly grandmother. She ended up getting pneumonia because of that incident

They got me where I needed to get to however they are getting a bit pricey especially compared to an Uber its not worth it cause not only is Uber prices better but Uber cares for your life.no offense to city cab drivers cause its probably not all of you however I've had 2 drivers now that have gone wrong ways down streets, gone through red lights, turned when not to be turning, gone down the LRT tracks to avoid cars.like they do not care of you die.and when I asked them both drivers gave me the same answer as to why they don't care about how they drive and how I get home safe or not.they both said and I quote "we work for the police they don't care how we drive they understand are buisness" like what? Maybe in another country where driving rules aren't mandatory maybe.no offense to anyone as a person and then to say police allow you? Like grow up and come to terms there's rules to be followed for peoples safety so they can get home to there kids and wife in one piece. As for city cabs maybe test all your drivers or actually watch there performance and reviews through out the day cause I don't think the locals are liying when they say city cabs is awful

I called them because the weather was terrible and the ION wasn't working at 8: 15 from one of the ION stops. I told them the name of the stop and the intersection. 30 minutes later, I'm still waiting for the cab, so I call again, I was very polite and asked if I could get an update on how long this would take. The lady on the other side was rude, said she didn't know and then hung up. About 25 minutes later I called again, and this time the guy was very polite, he said a cab came and it was a no show. I haven't moved from where I said I was, I told him where I was again, and he said he'd send another cab. 10 minutes later I get a call saying the cab is here, it's nowhere to be seen. So I call back explaining what happened, and a third person tells me they'll send a cab. 15 minutes later and still no cab, I ended up finding another method of transportation. I used their service before and was very happy with it, but this was just ridiculous. I don't think they understood where I was, very unprofessional for a taxi company not to know their own city.

I use to cab each day. I try to avoid reviews but today after a few month of not cabbing I’m still getting the same horrible customer service.
Though the drivers are always great.
Today I wanted to cab rather than drive my car due to weather. I knew the cab would be a lot later because of the weather so I decided to book it way far in advanced with a lady this morning. 7: 30 actually. It’s now 7: 40 so I call asking for an eta. A gentlemen answered. They Usually let me know what street the driver is on. He has to relocation of this what’s so ever. I usually always get this information. He says they will be there soon. I ask again, did the lady even book my cab this morning. He again has no document of this. Now I’m late for work. Something I really tried to avoid. I wish the customer service matched the device of the drivers but you won’t get that here

The customer service is so unbelievably bad every time. I called for a cab, waited over 15 minutes and then called them again to see where the cab was because I wanted to update the person I was meeting. She told me that no one claimed the call yet so I called waterloo taxi instead. Within 1 minute I got a text that my waterloo taxi was close so I took out my phone to call city cabs back and tell them to cancel. They ended up calling me at the same time to tell me that someone finally accepted my call.the girl actually yelled at me that I should have told them and then hung up on me. Like I was about to. This company needs to have a chat with their employees about temper tantrums cause they're all too old to act like this.

We've used their flat rate service to Pearson Airport in Toronto too and found them most reliable.

Was almost hit 3 times in less than 5 minutes by one of their drivers. Thw guy didn't signal until he was already in the lane. He didn't check blind spots. He wasn't even aware of doing anything wrong after being beeped. Called the office they barely seemed to care. Call Uber instead.

Perfect place to call if you want rude customer service! When asked to come to Ayr, ON (15 min outside of Kitchener) the lady explained the up-charge and when we asked what that charge covered and if they had other locations closer to Ayr she became rude and hung up on us without answering a single one of our questions. I can’t even imagine the service you’d get if you actually got into one of their cars. At least you have a catchy Radio commercial because that’s about all this company has to offer.

Update: We chose Golden Triangle. The charge is $140 from Ayr to the Airport. Their receptionist was kind, charismatic and answered all of our questions. Worth the up-charge!

I am reviewing this as I sit at Fairview Park Mall. I requested a cab a 12: 30am as bus service has stopped. It is now 2: 30. No cab. They have left me stranded here. I am a disabled customer who needed to get home after a long day traveling. Shame on you! It is despicable to treat a person that way. I have been a loyal City Cab customer for years. No more. If you can use another company, go for it. Better yet, take an Über.

According to the man who spoke to me over the phone, "nobody in the Kitchener-Waterloo region can get a taxi to accommodate 5 people". GREAT business plan. After asking what my options were, he rudely repeated - verbatim - that "nobody in the Kitchener-Waterloo region can get a taxi to accommodate 5 people". He told me he could send out 2 taxis that would cost $60+ EACH but before I could order them he demanded an e-transfer for both taxis. I've never heard of this with any other taxi company. I ended up calling an Uber and it arrived in less time than my conversation with City Cabs for a third of the price with tip. Just call Uber, I can't imagine these guys will be around much longer.

At 1AM on a Monday I call for a cab. I was told that one would be sent out as soon as one was ready. I wanted and waited. At 1: 30AM I call and was told that they were having a hard time finding a cab? At 2AM I install Uber and got a ride in 10 min.
At no point was I told that it would take over an hour to get a cab to me or that I should look elsewhere. How can a business like this expect to stay relevant when there are so much better options out there? If you are in a rush and don't want to wait over an hour then don't use City Cab.

I used this company to pick up my husband from Pearson Airport yesterday. Car 38 was reliable, very professional and friendly, and I really enjoyed the ride to the airport. I fell safe at all times, both because of the way he was driving and because of the Covid measures taken. His car was impeccably clean and was very confortable. It was a real pleasure travelling in Car 38. I will use this company again and would recommend it to family and friends. Great service, thank you!

City Cabs used to be my go to cab service here in KW but the past couple months the wait times have been ridiculous. Sometimes I'm waiting 5 mins on hold and 40+ mins for a cab, no matter where the location for pickup. Unfortunately I have to call other cabs as the wait times have just become too long.

Drivers are so nice and kind. Everyone has a story which will make you think. Forgot my receipt and called and the guy at the office spent over 5 minutes helping me and we found it despite my cab being called in by another name and me giving the pick up address wrong. These are good people!

I use city cabs for all my taxi needs. Knowing that they can be busy at times and traffic can be bad, I plan in advance. I make a call 45-60 minutes before I need to be somewhere. Gives them to pick me up and get me to where I’m going.

Cab was filthy dirty and stunk like perfume (yes, during the worldwide COVID pandemic) I was already shocked but when we started driving and the car started shaking because the brakes were in disrepair I told the driver it’s not safe and to have the vehicle inspected. My son uses your company periodically when he requires transportation. He called to request a taxi yesterday (June 30th) at 8: 40pm, the taxi picked him up at 9: 05pm and he was taken to.in Kitchener. It was a pleasant experience, as it usually is when he rides with your drivers.

When my son was ready to return home, he again requested a taxi from your company at 1: 12am (July 1st) to.in Kitchener. When the driver showed up at 1: 20am my son got into the back seat of the vehicle, behind the plastic partition that was installed between him and the driver. The driver asked him if he had a mask, and when my son replied no he was told that the driver couldn't take him and he needed to exit the vehicle. He did as he was asked, and your driver pulled away, leaving my son standing there alone and in tears on the side of the road in the middle of the night.

For a company who's slogan is "Always there for you", I definitely do not feel like you were there for my son last night when your driver left him stranded on the side of the road. It was completely rude and unprofessional, and I can't even begin to express the disappointment that my son and I now have in your company.

I understand that there are protocols in place. Had those protocols been adhered to during his ride with your first driver yesterday, my son would have had a mask with him and completely avoided this issue for his return trip. As I mentioned before, he rides with your company periodically and has used your service many times since this pandemic hit, and never has he been requested to wear a mask, nor has he ever been treated as disgustingly as he was last night by any of your drivers.

A requirement is a requirement, I understand this. Requirements should be straight across the board though, not decided on a personal basis. Also it should not have warranted that kind of behaviour from your driver. I have worked in customer service all my life, and have never treated someone with such abhorrent disrespect.without your customers, there wouldn't be a job for you and your drivers to do.

Perhaps your company and it's drivers could find a better alternative to leaving people stranded on the side of the road due to not having a mask in their posession. Maybe keep a box of masks available to sell for $2 a piece to people who don't have them. My son would have been happy to purchase the mask and wear it home to avoid the disturbing treatment he received last night.

So extremely disappointed,

The drivers were good but your customer service agents were bad I was asking for an update because the taxi was late but they wouldn’t give you proper and honest answer and if you were mad and upset because their taxi was late they would talk to you as if they are mad too! Horrible people! You should teach your agents how to handle upset customers not to act like as if they are the owner of the taxi company. This is my very first time I talked to an agent that is rude! I also work in customer services before but I know how to handle upset people not to be rude on upset customers!

Don't use these cabs because they randomly yell at you and try to take the longest route to where your going and if you yell at them they take you to a police station and on top of that there is also a cab (number 3180) who thought i wasn't going to pay because i had to leave for 1 miniute so if you have any self respect don't use these cabs

Officially done with this cab company. You just lost a $400plus a month customer.

Call for a pick up tonight for Dollarama. Car 50 showed up and parked right in front of the door. I am standing at the curb between Zehrs and Dollorama 10 feet away. I am the only one standing there and he saw me but he parked in front of dollarma door and just stared at me. I wave him over and he just stare and force me to walk to him. I ask him he couldn't just to come to me? He gave me the biggest attitude and raised his voice at me. Like fighting voice. CityCab I spent over $400 a month for the past 2 years with you. No more and i will encourage my clients to do the same

Due to medical reasons i lost my licence 15 years ago and have been taking taxis ever since. The past couple of years i've been using City Cab twice or three times a day with no problems until recently i started noticing some drivers would accept my fare but sit idle for a few minutes before they start moving. Why accept a fare if ur not going to move right away? If ur on a break or lunch or talking to a fellow driver then don't accept a fare and make us wait. Today car 17 accepted my fare even though he's 10min away on Victoria st. Waited a few minutes to see where he's at thru my app. The f fer was at the car wash on Victoria. He actually went to the car wash on victoria after accepting my fare. I cancelled and called the other cab company. Made me late for work today thanks

Warning! At approximately 2 AM on Sunday Feb 23 2020 my friend was being dropped off at his residence. When he proceeded to step out the car to retrieve his bank card in his hand. The cab driver decided to grab his personal bag and proceeded to yell you pay! My friend warned him to let go and he did not several times. The driver was paid after my buddy won the his bag back. Ultimately, city cab was informed and I hope they fire this guy. Unprofessional! This guy could really hurt someone or scare someone to defend them self!

We book a 2: 30pm taxi to the airport, I'm writing this review at 3pm on the dot whilst we still are waiting for our taxi! We booked this 7 days in advance to ensure we were on time to get to the airport. We call and speak to a manager who simply says "we're very sorry, it's busy today" - not good enough? !

Not happy today as the city cab driver tried to drop my daughter off at a totally different address then what he was given. How do you confused Ottawa with Weber!? I gave address to the operator over the phone and to the driver myself even is displayed on his screen. Seems shady, I do not recommend.

Awful company, terrible service. Booked a cab for 11: 15pm hours in advance to take me to medical appointment. Taxi doesn't show up so I call and am told cab has only just been booked so will be there in 10-15 minutes. Dispatcher says they don't notify the drivers in advance and call out to cabs in the vicinity right before. Dispatcher tells me I should have booked a limo company. Say what? ! What taxi company doesn't send a car to a scheduled appointment. At least the driver was super.

Called for a cab at 11: 20 and waited outside the pub I asked them to pick me up for 20 min before I gave up on city cabs and found my way to the LRT station to at least get me MOST of the way home.
I don't use cabs or transit much but I will be getting an Uber account after this experiance.
I also saw 3 of their cabs sitting in a parking lot frombthe train station when waiting for the next train. With all the compatition

Great driver this morning. Old boxer and fight fan like me. Polish fellow. Wish I got his name. Picked me up at St. Mary's hospital, I had second surgery in two weeks, had to make a stop to get house keys from my wife. HE got out of the car and met her outside her work so I wouldn't have to. Very kind, very courteous man. Great example for all your other drivers and great for your brand. City Cabs is all I will ever call. Well done!

Can driver refused to Drive me because he said it was “2 min up the street” and made me get out and walk to where I was going. If I wanted to walk the 12 min in the cold gusty wind, I wouldn’t have bothered trying to hail down a cab. It was cold. He’s one of the big reasons Uber is taking over. 0/10 would never recommend

Horrible experience. No wonder Uber is more popular. I called dispatch around 3: 50 am and asked for a cab at 4: 50 am. Dispatch said ok I will have one there for you. 4: 55am no cab I call back and the dispatcher tells me he doesn’t have anyone to get the call. Like Why couldn’t you call me before 4: 50 to tell me your not coming. I called a hour early because I needed to make sure i got to work in time. Because of them I was late and had to call another cab company who came right away and didn’t lie like city did to me. I will never use cabs again only UBER and I will never recommend city cabs to anyone. They clearly don’t respect time and customer needs. TO THE OWNER STOP COPYING AND PASTING YOUR RESPONSE. Whoever is driving a black propane powered Taurus license plate number CCHN 601 should not be licensed. They cut me off without an indicator, unnecessarily blocked the left turn lane because they were texting and distracted, drove through a round about failing to indicate exit. I called using my headset to complain and as I was talking to the lady on the phone he made another 3 driving infractions. After hanging up he sat at a green light until I laid on my horn.must've been texting AGAIN! This was all over the course of only 5kms. I would never get in that cab let alone trust one of my kids to be safely transported in that taxi. Absolutely pathetic.

My husband recently lost his wallet in a City Cab. We were pleased his wallet was returned with all it's contents including the cash. We have always been loyal City Cabs customers & will continue to be. The office staff & drivers are always courteous & professional. This was just one more positive, memorable customer experience with City Cabs.

My low rating is for the customer service end for the call centre rather than the driver (s).

I had to go to Pearson Airport in the early AM, the one company I had booked with before contacting this particular one unfortunately didn’t have enough drivers and called me as soon as they figured it probably wasn’t possible so they gave me City Cabs number to call. I call City Cabs at 4: 50am and the dispatcher tells me it’s possible to get a cab gave me the flat rate amount and said a driver will be on his way soon.

25 minutes later a driver has yet to show up, and when I called back the same guy answered the phone, I asked what the ETA is because I should really be hitting the road and rather than being blunt and telling me “we don’t have enough drivers” or it could be maybe another 20 minutes he just tells me how “he is working on it”. I ask if a car has been dispatched yet because I need to know whether to find other means and he doesn’t even tell me that he just continues saying how he’s “trying to match me to a driver”.

An extra 10 minutes passed totalling 35 minutes waiting for a cab or phone call with an update and I hear NOTHING from them.

Finally a cab shows up, I walk up to him and he seems confused, I asked if he is dispatched to take me to Pearson airport and he said no he’s on break. I apologized and the driver said you need to go to the airport? I said ya I’ve been trying to get a car from the company for about 35 minutes now and he said nothing showed up on the screen for a call out but he can take me.

Again my negative review is for the call centre aspect driver I had was amazing and really cared to give a good customer service.

I don't know why they need more than 30 mins to pick up a customer Downtown Kitchener when it's not even rush hour. Happened to me 3 times now and will never use their service again. Also had a very rude driver who thought it was acceptable to tell me I shouldn't live in a large apartment by myself without knowing anything about my circumstances and continued to call me "fat wallet girl". Not okay.

Lol the cab driver refused to take me to Cambridge from Sportsworld because "he's had issues with Cambridge before" leaving me stuck, I've currently been waiting a half hour for another cab and still nothing. Lucky it's a warm night.

I had a good experience with city cabs up until today. At 7: 23 am on June 29th I got picked up at Chandler drive area. So everything was okay in the beginning of the drive. Near the middle or end of the drive that is where it took a turn for the worse. The cab driver started asking me personal questions about my life. And when it was time to be dropped off. The cab driver asked if he could help me with my bags and what not. I said i can handle myself okay from here. He asked me if i wanted to have fun. I was like what the hell? !? Ummmm first off no that is hella creepy. And he was trying to convince me into sleeping with him. I mantained my no. If it wasnt for the car behind he would have tried to come up to my appartment. Who knows how many women this guy preys on? He drives on Chandler Route. And he is from Serbia also married with a son. Please be aware because he could start preying on teenagers. I wish i got the taxi number.

Driver driving crazy on the street almost runs a red light just to cut me off to turn right at 9 o’clock in the morning. Come on buddy thier are kids going to school license plate # COWX 639

My Partner and I had somewhere to be. She had an appointment somewhere that was only a 10-15 minute drive away and we needed to transport many things. She promptly called the company 40 minutes in advance to order a van so that we could take all our things that we needed. She waited a few minutes and started to worry. After calling back the first time, they said something like: "15-20 minutes" Second time, she was given the answer along the lines of: "About 30 minutes". She was absolutely livid. How can we rely on a transportation company that never shows up? Unbelievable.

I have recently started working for this company. Before that, i have used their services regularly, as a customer, for over 15 years. As a customer, i was never dissapointed with the drive nor have i ever have to wait very long for a car, hence why i exclusively used them. As an employee, i have come to find just how hard they all work to make sure every customer gets their order in a timely fashion, and drivers going above and beyond for their customers. I hear them all every day, over the radio in my car, how hard they try to be punctual and make sure they retrieve their customers. Great company to use for cabs, and also great to work for. AAAAA+

Took way to long to get here, taking the bus would of been faster, now I am late for work. When the late cab showed up he farted in the car with me in it!

Booked cab for airport 3 hours earlier for 2pm pickup. No one came or called till 2: 15 PM then I eventually called them to check what's going on. They said we cant find any driver and asked to wait 10 more mins then they called in 10 mins and said none is available.ridiculous.they wanted my time even though I called way in advance.got delayed at airport.never going to use them again.should be zero star if there is an option

Best service on KW. The drivers are always friendly, asking for the preferred route and helping out with the groceries bags. No issues with the dispatchers as well.
