It's a dump!
I've used both here and Bermondsey and both are functional and efficient - I was just at Scarborough on Monday, noonish at the end of November and went straight in.
For those uninitiated in transfer station process - (aka Lucky)
-Drive to the scale house and join the line, wait for the green light.
-Drive forward onto the scale - line your drivers door up with the hut.
-Get out and pay a deposit based on the size of your load - I was $40 for a 4'x8' trailer full.
-Get a ticket and a receipt for the deposit.
-Drive to the main building and hand over you ticket to the staff in the bright green outfit.
-They direct you to a lane to dump - if you have a trailer you'll have to back-up. (The floors are scraped clean with a machine but avoid backing over anything that might puncture you tires)
-Close you windows and turn off you car.
Note: You are walking on, and smelling garbage juice - just remember when you're done you get to leave! (I turn-over my floor mats so I can wipe or hose them down later)
-Dump or unload your garbage into a pile.
-Exit via the Scale House - Line up there and on the green light pull back up and see if you get money back (I got $12) or they misjudged and you need to pay a little more.
Avoid running into any big trucks - full size trucks use the facility too.
Note: Hazardous waste and electronics have a separate drop-off area on the westside of the building. Just follow the signs.

(a long wait in line to get in or closed due to maintenance are my only complaints - neither happened this trip)

Happy dumping.

If you have less than 2000 pounds of trash this place is the cheapest way to dispose of your garbage. Over 2000 and you would be better off getting a bin rental. Staff are good. Wish some stalls were kept a bit cleaner.
