I am writing this note to showcase my utmost appreciation on the professional work done by City Wide group at my Kitchener home’s basement water-leaking issues.

When we initially discovered the water-leaking issues on our basement, we were confused of the root cause, as none of the other contractors were confident of the actual cause, but then we had the privilege of interacting with Jamie from City Wide Group, who after having a detailed inspection, triage and analysis convincingly designed a solution that fits within our budget. From there-on, we have had the privilege to experience similar professionalism and workmanship from this team until today. They were always at your disposals, patient and attentive to our calls even did site-visit after the business hours.

The crew has completed the repair/maintenance of basement waterproofing and sump-pump installation job in record time (ahead of the schedule), showed great care in their work around the foundation of my house and cleaned up beautifully after the job. During the course of the work, the City Wide team had briefed my almost on a daily basis on the progress of the job, the details of the damage/clogging observed on weeping tile along with pictures, also shown me the pictures of various remedial measures almost on a day to basis until the final completion.

I found this is as a very professional experience and found the team very skillful in this space. I would like to thank again City Wide group, Jamie and their entire crew for the outstanding work in restoring my basement to livable condition in record time.

I used the City Wide Group for some waterproofing work on my foundation. From my initial contact with the company and Chris the owner, to the receipt of their formal proposal, I could tell I was dealing with an extremely professional business.

The proposal was extremely detailed and left nothing to guess-work or the imagination. The price was fair.

The workers arrived 15 minutes early, were extremely professional, did what they needed to do and left the area on which they worked (and the rest of my yard) looking like they'd never even been there. We had to waterproof our house, so we called last year many companies to come and check. Tony gave us the best solution and best price as well compared to other companies. What’s the point of having a Lifetime Waterproofing Warranty if the work never gets completed or the company does not fulfill their contract? Poor customer service, poor communication, poor workmanship, empty promises… this is what City Wide provides its customers!
I hired City Wide to waterproof the exterior wall of my basement in October, 2018. City Wide sent out workers to start the job on Nov. 15,2018. The crew was sent out WITHOUT a work order or a site supervisor. Who sends a crew to do a job, when the crew doesn’t know what to do?
The job was rushed and was not completed properly. The crew was on site for 1.5 days and left without completing the job. As CIty Wide did not follow up with the customer, we had to reach out to to find out when they would complete the job. On November 28, we had an on-site meeting with Richard, to see exactly what the crew had left undone. He agreed that the job was not completed stating more work would be required. After this visit on November 28th, there was silence from the company. There was no plan put in place and no communication. This was the first of many instances that City Wide Group did not follow through with promises and dropped communication.
On February 4th, 2019 my basement was flooded. Water flowed directly at the site they said they repaired but never completed, causing considerable damage to the walls and floors of my basement. No one felt the need to come and have a look at the damage that their poor workmanship caused. After several phone calls and emails, a meeting was set for February 7th where the supervisor agreed work was not completed and would be completed in Spring, 2019. Again, I was not contacted to set up this completion.
On July 31st, the supervisor ordered a crew to complete the job on the surface, but not the structural job that was originally contracted in 2018. City Wide did not fulfill their agreement.
On January 11,2020, I had another leak in the exact location that had, according to City Wide, been “fixed” twice. I contacted Richard and Chris again. The next day, Richard came to the site and agreed there was a leak and that it was not fixed. They took pictures and reassured me that I have a lifetime warranty from ground level down. He told me that he would report his findings to Chris the next day (confirming that the leak was still in the original location.) Even with evidence seen first hand by a City Wide employee, Chris still did nothing. No action was taken. Again proof of horrible customer service.
This experience caused a great deal of stress. City Wide ceases communication with customers, leaves them to deal with problems caused by their lack of professionalism and does not provide basic customer service, making customers feel the warranty is USELESS!
On February 17,2022 yet another leak occurred in the very same location. I once again reached out to CIty Wide Group and a leak was confirmed in the exact location where repairs were to have been completed. I provided pictures and videos in a timely manner. Chris responded, promising he would contact me with a plan. Several months later, I am once again waiting for correspondence from Chris.
Over three years later, I am still waiting for work, which I paid over $4000 for in 2018, but have incurred over $10,000 in damages, due to poor quality workmanship, unfinished work and empty promises from Chris and the City Wide Group, to be completed!
Do not hire this company, unless you wish to be provided with poor customer service and taken advantage of by broken promises and lack of communication.
I hired them to fix a leak in my foundation, which should have only taken a few days from start to finish, only to have them create a far greater problem. I am still waiting for the job to be completed. Their slogan is “WE DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME”. This is one customer who knows this to be untrue! I regret ever contacting this company!

Met with the owner Harry. He came across as honest and sincere and the desire for the job to be done right.

CityWide came and completely waterproofed my basement. This was done 10 years ago. Since then I have had no problems WHATSOEVER. I have asked for assistance on subsequent jobs/properties. They have always come through with helpful suggestions and knowledge.

I contacted Tony Novara at City Wide in the Spring of 2021 for an estimate to waterproof the front of a house we moved into in May 2021. I had gotten a few quotes for the work and CityWide was cost competitive. The Team came two weeks after we confirmed the job. They arrived on time, even early. The job was done on Feb 1st, 2022 and the ground was frozen. All the work was hand bombed and very quickly done. They did about a 21 foot section across the front of the house. If I have any issues later, I'll be sure to keep this company in mind.

We had City Wide come in an provide no hassle quote. The price was great value, even though it's a tough pill to swallow:) We had the standard seepage issue, Richard the sales person was very knowledgeable and professional.
The crew was exceptional, on time, extremely professional & hard working. They started Monday morning and we completed Thursday by noon. Note it's a messy job and even covering everything there is lots of dust but the crew did what they could to keep it down.
Now we are confident that we will never have water in the basement ever again!

I had half of my house water proof work done by City Wide group done in 2006. Over the last couple years, I have experienced some wet basement issues. I have called two water proofing companies including City Wide to come assess and provide estimates. Both are major contractors in this field. For water proofing for the whole house, the estimates are very close. But the sales person from City Wide remind me of the work they did in 2006 carry a life time warranty and they will honor that. So I only have to spend half of the quote to have the whole house water proofed.
They have completed the work July 2020.
After the winter, I noticed the interlocking they replaced back has sunk. I called into and send the pictures There was no argument, they said some one will come to re level the stones. As promised, the guy came and did a good job.
Both incidences have demonstrated City Wide is a trust worthy contractor. I have no problem to recommend to my friends.

I had a totally different experience than described in other reviews. My experience was bad from the moment I put my deposit down to more recently when I had additional waterproofing completed. Their reply to this review is also a lie, as I did call them numerous times and got the the same minimal effort fixes and was insulted by the CEO when he came to see the weeping tile was installed too high and I was asked to pay half of the solution required. I never saw or got a report from a structural engineer either, so that's a surprise to me to hear.

In the fall of 2020, I noticed water spots along the footing of one wall in my house. I call CityWide and other companies for quotes. Tony came quickly and gave me a decent quote but more importantly made me comfortable with what was needed.

They were delayed in completing the work due to weather issues, and when they arrived, they had different crews for each task and no one was communicating with me. We were supposed to discuss drainage using the city drain vs a sump pump when we had the drain exposed. That didn't happen.

This lead to additional issues as the water along our footing got worst.
At that time, I was told they connected to the city sewer line and it must be partially blocked, so we had to get a sump pump.

This spring I noticed concrete heaving along the other walls and we started to get blockages in our house drain. So I called Tony again to quote and to discuss whether the previous work was contributing to our sewers blocking. Toni told me that the drain was capped last year when they did the work. If this is true, than the waterproofing work they did initially was not drained anywhere and would be the reason for the water problems getting worse after their initial work and before the sump pump was installed. Needless to say, I didn't hire them for the new work (they were also 50% higher in their quote). I should also add they did not put the AC unit back on its slab, piled sand (not gravel) about 10 inches higher than the membrane along the house and installed the beam for my deck on a slant, left a bolt out and did not communicate anything to me (I found the bolt covered with dirt a foot away from where it was supposed be in the beam).

The new waterproofing company (Aquatech) came and also discovered that the weeping tile Citywide installed was too high for the other weeping tiles to drain to the sump pump. I was shocked and called Citywide to find out what was happening. The owner of the company came, and told me their job was done right, my house was crooked and he was willing to split the cost for the new waterproofing company to install a secondary line to the sump pump. I clearly replied that I'm not paying another dime for an inadequate job and expected him to solve it. The new waterproofing company installed it and I did not pay extra for it.

I still do not know if the back downspout drain was actually capped, but now that the other company installed their sump pump line, I have had no plumbing issues. I regret hiring CityWide and hope this review helps others as most waterproofing companies only had good reviews, and I needed to tell my story.

We had 4 cracks in the foundation of the home we bought. Tony came and did a quote for us, he explained it all and was very nice and professional.
Communication was very timely, phone call or text, to answer any questions.

The job was done in 2 days and the crew was very nice and left the site cleaner than before! When they left after the first day they organized their tools in the backyard so they wouldn’t be in the way which was very appreciated!

The City Wide Group of guys that came to our house did a waterproof job on our foundation. They were fast, clean and dug the dirt by hand so as not to damage pipes or electrical lines. I hired City Wide to address the water leak I had at my foundation. The salesman (Tony) was one of the reasons I chose City Wide over other water-proofing companies. He took the time to clearly explain the process to me, he was not 'pushy', he reviewed options and he was knowledgeable. Tony also made himself available before, during and after the completion. Secondly, whilst this work is not cheap, their pricing was better than the competitors. As a side note; the crew, lead by Peter, worked very hard from what I was able to observe. Another nice feature about this crew is they hand dug instead of using heavy machinery which prevented possible damage. The work was completed the fall of 2020. So far it has been dry in my basement. We had water coming into our basement and we got the services of City Wide Group Inc.
Tony gave me the estimate for the basement waterproofing. He explained how it would be done and why it would keep the basement dry. Tony and his team lead by Carl came in the morning, before 8: 00 am, and they kept working until past 5: 00 pm. I don't think they even took a break.
They really provide exceptional service. The installation team was great and everything from start to finish was just absolutely remarkable. My husband and I would definitely recommend City Wide Group Inc to our family and friends.

Richard Came and took a look at my backed up drain and recommended another company that could do it cheaper as it was his company's secondary service.
