Exceptional library experience! Civic Centre Resource Library
is truly a gem in our communityThe extensive collection of books spans various genres and interests, and the organization makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for.
Also, the children's section is thoughtfully curated with a diverse collection of age-appropriate books, engaging toys, and cozy reading nooks. The vibrant and inviting atmosphere makes it a joy for our toddler to explore and discover new stories.
Kudos to the entire team at Civic Centre Resource Library for maintaining a five-star library that truly enriches our community. I highly recommend this library to anyone seeking a haven for knowledge, relaxation, and spending a great time with their children.

I study here almost every weekend and something about the atmosphere really makes me enjoy coming here. Its also always clean and the staff are very friendly!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The service is terrible. I’ve visited this library 3 times in the past 3 weeks for booking the individual study rooms I had to wait 20 mins every-time for someone to come and enter my information because it is first come first serve.
This is happening usually between 9-11 am when the library is not that busy. Customer service is the fundamental of a public library. They need to do better.

Love this library.
It has a modern design. It's very neat and clean here. The staff is very friendly

Love this library.
It has a modern design and is very comfortable for the public that uses this facility.
No designated quiet zone, however you can find some peace if you sit in the colorful glass study rooms. (these rooms require you to have a registered library card).
2 hour limit (you can generally continue using the room when you're over the 2 hour limit - you will only be asked to vacate the room if someone else requests the room).
Plenty of parking - the parking lot was recently re-paved.

It is a beautiful space overall, but lots of noise especially from the kids room! I think that room should be soundproof!
Also can they add blinds? The glare from the sun makes it hard to look at a book for too long, it strains the eyes.
The huge windows are good but impractical at times.

This library is good, compared to other ones.except it is quite small, it has photo/video room (green room), but the equipment there (the cameras), the nikon and sony are really old and specs are really really low to todays standards. They are 2014 models.overall the environment and little touches are quite good, but still don't like the lack of new video equipment.they have laptop rentals (free) for 2 hours, but the display quality is really agresive for your eyes and it is painful looking at it for long periods of time.overall i recommend this library to spend time alone.

The kids are having fun making forts and crafts here, the librarians were nice to bring out all sorts of activities and games to keep kids entertained. New surprises every time we visit!
27 May 2023 18:45
Resource library with some books. Study areas are always filled. May need to bring a jacket because evening gets hot in the study areas.
16 April 2023 22:12
Great place to study however the kids area needs doors. I can hear children running and playing even when I'm sitting far away from the kids area.

A phenomenal library I had the pleasure of visiting. Very spacious, a lot of resources, study rooms, staff were very friendly, and a very cool coffee machine. Only one thing I see a bit of a con is that there is a 2hr limit on study rooms. I definitely see why there is a limit, so that makes sense. But, to book a room is first come first serve. I thought I was early, but still had a 1hr waiting time until I got the room. For myself, I had two meetings that were broken apart. So, the two hour window was not enough time for me. Maybe in the future, if there was an option to book a room for a longer window beforehand, that would be a very nice and convenient feature. Overall experience tho: 5/5

Beautiful library. It’s very big too, there is a space for everyone! Staff is so kind and welcoming, love coming here.
04 November 2022 7:55
The quiet study area is amazing and even without it, there are plenty of places to work in silence. I wish that they would have a private prayer room, but there are areas around the library where you can perform some prayers.
21 June 2022 4:25
This is such a beautiful place.
I've been to many libraries, but none have been as beautiful as this one.
It is cozy with a mat, and the lighting makes it cozy.
The ceilings are high and the chairs are very comfortable. It is very great place. ^^

I have a bad experiences at CCRL on 5: 30pm today (13 March)
She, your staff or Librarian was very rude.
I had to wait for her to finish talk with her friend and I reached out my hand to get the library card, however, she threw the card to me ah? Her behavior is unbelievably disrespectful.

I regretted I didn’t ask her name! I will visit the library again and I will complain it to her and her manager.
15 April 2022 14:18
If I had an option to give 0, I wouldn’t think twice for sure. Employee name Jenice was so rude and she doesn’t have any ethics how to talk with the people especially when I was there doing volunteering for CRA, I was filing tax for a gentleman and somehow i did utilize more time than usual so gone mad at me. Hope so upper management take a look and train their employees how to treat fellow community people and professionals.
31 March 2022 15:35
I am working with a computer in the library so when I need to go to the bathroom library the employee allows somebody uses my place just I late a few minutes and put away my stuff and they touch my stuff the library is not secure for healthy, they are not used Gloves for putting away personnel stuff people.when someone left a few minutes for example you want to go to the washroom or take something your car, and you came back you got trouble, someone gets your place right way, the employee not care. This covid time but the employee library allows somebody touches your stuff. It is unsafe for all people.

Best library in Vaughan and awesome friendly staff to help, their checkout system is marvellous
03 March 2022 11:53
If I could give this centre a 0 out of 5 star, I would. Majority of the staff employed at this establishment are far from nice and welcoming. They have been nothing but inconsiderate and disrespectful to the people who come to the library to get their work done in peace. Holding a very loud press conference in the library is the opposite of being respectful and considerate. The noise level at that time was astounding, and on top of this not one employee decided to politely ask the guests to quiet down since there are students actively trying to study and complete critical assignments concerning their education. Not one of my experiences at this library have been enjoyable which I hope to see change of in the future.
20 February 2022 23:24
I personally love this library, very calm space with great study areas and resources. On the other hand, never have I ever encountered such a rude staff. There has been less than a handful of nice staff I've spoken to here, majority are utterly disrespectful and nosy. The library is full of hard working people and students for the most part who have a lot on their plate, the staff honestly have made some of my experience at the library stressful. Once I came in carrying a water bottle, and immediately before even greeting me, a lady at the front said in a terrible tone "you can't bring that in here or drink it get rid of it". Ma'am, it's water. I understand covid protocols but it does not make sense to me as we are required to social distance anyhow.like you go to Starbucks to study and you can fully remove your mask. Here, you cannot even sip water? Also, to any staff, please do not work in a public space with people of all sorts if you don't even have basic respect!
20 February 2022 16:42
The library environment is awesome.
It will be definitely better if the kids learning zone gets isolated by kind of sound proof barriers. It will make the familes with kids more relaxed since they don't feel uncomfortable by their kids disturbing others.
12 February 2022 23:18
Amazing library but there is something stupid. The employee came and told me you couldn't put my water on the table. I understand that there is covid 19 and I take the necessary precautions for this, but can someone explain what my water has to do with it? I was studying and now my whole mood is upside down. I hated this world, enough is enough.
07 February 2022 3:56
Staff is very friendly and cooperative. This Library is very neat, well organized and spacious.
23 May 2020 4:31
A very clean and perfect place to read. BuT the kids are playing around. For me i can’t really focus on my books.
04 May 2020 10:07
Really good library it’s nice and large! Easy access to computers when needed and most of the time there are spaces!
15 March 2020 7:11
Ppl are nice, equipments nice too. But building poorly designed, the sun goes right though the window to the study area with lots of desks.
And the light just aims straight to ppls eyes. How can ppl read or study at all like that?
At least put some automatic roll up blinds.
Designer so dumb.
03 March 2020 10:16
As many patrons have said, this is an excellent modern library with many amenities. I am a lover of public libraries and believe in their community value as a place of inclusion. This library is not only a wonderful place to borrow books, DVDs and BluRays that you already know and gave on your list, but also a place to discover new ideas, which is what reading in a public space often does and what libraries ultimately represent.
02 March 2020 11:10
This is an amazing library, filled with extra helpful staff and awesome book collection. That have tons of activities for kids during summer break, PA day or any other holidays.

About one week that the cleanliness of men’s washroom is Disastrous, if Boss wants I can add pics more than 5hours like this pic

I am a fan of libraries in general and they have always been a to-go place for kids. This library is very modern and beautiful.it is located across from a nice children park and that's a blessing. Just park you car and visit library for books and then some play time for kids. The kid's area is spacious and has kid-friendly, fluffy smooth ottomans for seating. The huge 'sun room' is my personal favorite in children's section. It bring good sun light and bright even during winter months. Adding more computers in the kid's area is a good idea as there's always some kids staring 'wantingly', but hey you can always read a book ;). The events at this location are also great. I haven't attended many but the one we have been to was fun and we all enjoyed. There was face painting and pop corn and other fun activities. The coffee/ vending machine are a life saver for the quick snack for when we spend a lot more time than originally planned. Last but not the least 'Dude' is the name of the non-poisonous-snake pet in the library. Which is THE object of fascination for my kids and parents. It is a true beauty with reddish orange and black stripes. We saw its tail of head multiple times but this one time it was completely out and boy! Was it long!

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a public library, probably about 15 years, but honestly this was pretty impressive!

First of all, it’s fairly new, maybe only a few years old. It was really clean, even in the winter with snowy conditions and salt all over the roads, the inside was well kept.

There’s a large selection of books in English but also saw a couple sections for books in other languages. They also have comics, anime and non traditional books.

On top of the large selection of books, they have a pretty large amount of DVDs and BluRay to rent. Some of these are older movies, but they also had some large blockbuster movies as well.

They also have a media room fully equipped with green screen and video camera which is available for rent.

Probably the most impressive thing I noticed was the 3D printer. Maybe it’s common in most libraries now, but it was pretty cool to see one that is open to use by the public.

This is not so much a review of the building but one thing I liked was that I saw a lot of students with their tutors. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it’s always encouraging to see young people at working on their education. So shout out all the students who come here!

Overall 5/5 and would definitely recommend checking it out especially if you live in the area.

The library is so spacious and very conducive to learning. Materials are abundant. Seats and tables are very ergonomics. One of the beat library ive been to so far. Must visit and stay!
12 November 2019 8:22
It's a nice library. But what i found disappointing is they hide the resources for toddlers. If you ask for one, they tell you those are for special occasion only. Very poor in that case compared to other libraries.
18 September 2019 17:07
Well-designed, fast internet connection, quiet need I say more? This is the best library ever: D
16 September 2019 20:59
Excellent library. I volunteered here for two months under the Tech Volunteer program until it was time for work, and the staff were incredibly kind, patient and helpful to any patron that walks through the door.

I aspire to see this kind of customer service everywhere, and I absolutely love this library. The space is beautiful, the staff here are very kind, and there is so much support, services, study rooms and space. I witnessed people doing many things with their time there-studying, starting their new business, learning a new skill or simply reading.

Whatever your purpose for being there, the Civic Library was there for you. And I loved that about it. Being both a patron and a volunteer before, I can say that this library deserves a full 5.0 overall score.

I used to live in Richmond Hill, and I have never seen such a wonderful library before. For example, if you're being too loud, the librarians will do everything they can to maintain the quietness of the library, and tell you respectfully to keep the volume down. I have been in countless libraries where the staff didn't care about simple things like volume.

How beautiful! No wonder it won a "Library as Space" award (Ontario Library Association).

I was impressed by the free charging stations when I first arrived, but the space itself is inspirational, from the inner courtyard, to the work areas and private rooms.

I had never been in such a quiet library and was doing some work, when suddenly someone came in late for an activity, repeating out-loud "I don't think that we are in the right place". She had confirmation that she was in the wrong place when she took a turn and saw the vast and brightly lit study area with several dozen people patiently looking up at her.
09 September 2019 13:51
This is "the best" library I've ever been to. It's new, always super clean, quiet and well managed.
The staff are as kind as your own family. The manager Ms. Urszula Jambor has done a well job making such a great place. I want to thank her and all the respectful staff of Civic Centre Resource library and wish you all the best.
01 September 2019 18:24
Definitely one of the top libraries in the GTA - beautiful design encourages frequent visits and deep study.
31 August 2019 10:01
There is no such thing as quiet study rooms here, people will have meetings in the one person study rooms and it’s always very loud no matter how many times you tell the front desk staff no one cares enough to talk to these people to lower it down. Once someone had really loud music on their computer still no one said anything!
21 July 2019 11:31
Great place to chill and relax or do some studying. They've got a courtyard in the middle of the library where you could go to get some fresh air as well as an outdoor terrace on the second floor! Such a cool place.
13 July 2019 11:21
It is a good, clean and modern library. I would have given 5 stars if not for the lack of shades. When it is sunny, it's impossible to seat near windows as my back is literally on fire.
08 July 2019 5:13
Awesome place to visit. They have a green screen room and a recording studio you can rent for free! So happy they Implemented these spaces in a new modern library.
12 April 2019 11:05
The staff was very helpful and I borrowed a Notebook and private study room. Will always use this location for studying when I can from now on.
25 March 2019 8:46
This library is full of potential. The resources are amazing, and there are lots of appealing spots to study. Not to mention the fantastic design allows the beautiful rays of light scatter through the library from the gigantic windows. Also, the staff are accommodating and nice. I definitely recommend this place.:)

I recently started coming to this library because I enjoy studying here. Particularly I enjoy the staff, they always try to make my study experience as enjoyable as possible. However, today I simply needed a computer mouse as mine had died. I have borrowed a computer mouse from the library many times before and it never seemed to be an issue. However, this time I asked and the receptionist for a mouse, she said she would have to ask her supervisor. She came back and told me the supervisor informed her that I would not be allowed to borrow a mouse. Upon seeing that they had a drawer full of computer mice I asked to speak to her in order to understand her logic for saying no. Long story short, she (the supervisor) said I couldn't borrow a computer mouse and couldn't even tell me why. I explained that I had borrowed one before with out any issues and even offered to give her my I. D, get a library card or write down my information in order to make sure they knew I had intention of returning it. The receptionist and supervisor displayed horrendous amounts of attitude and showed me a lack of respect. Prior even conversing with the receptionist she had the most miserable look on her face. You are working around children, it does not hurt to smile. Being the first person I look at when I walk into the library it would be nice to see a face that doesn't look like she hates her life. Its too bad this happened I love studying beside the pet snake they have. Wont be coming back here just really felt unwanted and judged. Who knows maybe the receptionist and supervisor were having a bad day but whatever it is. I had to leave it made me feel uncomfortable studying at this library.
22 February 2019 11:43
I am an elementary school teacher and was absolutely appalled upon coming into the library today I experienced the supervisor and receptionist being extremely rude to a boy that simply wanted to borrow a mouse. As I saw them telling him no I was shocked because I have borrowed one before at this location and was wondering why they had an issue with him. He was younger so they could have been discriminating against his age, however he was very polite even after the supervisor was rude to him in front of children near by. I felt very sorry for the kid after hearing the way they spoke to him and even asked if he was okay after, I saw him leave shortly after. That was no way to speak to a kid especially as a supervisor at a place surrounded by kids.unacceptable.
09 February 2019 11:04
Great library that has much more available than I had thought.

From 3D printers time a green room, music equipment, quiet rooms, meeting areas, kids section, rental tablets and computers. Oh, and lots of well organized books.

Also, free parking!
27 December 2018 1:31
It's getting there.you can tell that they are still bringing in some equipment and decorating, but overall I'm glad they didn't wait to open. A great, bright space that I look forward to visiting for years to come.

November 2018 update: 5 stars, great family programs and resources.
